    I must say, I know I shouldn’t be blown away by your professionalism because that should be the norm. But you guys are so courteous to customers, polite, respectful. You never know someone’s situation or why their floors are the way they are, there’s never any judgment. I find that extremely endearing as it’s such a stark contrast from smaller companies and the big name companies. That’s why I will forever support a small business before a big brand. 💜

    FIRST OFF: I loved the little edit where it jumped out of the live video to a video of you watching the footage on the device, and then jumped back into the footage after your information about the job. Your video/editing is really improving and becoming a skill in it's own right.
    I've always had a thought that it would be cool to see more stuff like this from you. An example may be something like this where you pause it and jump out of the video to give us a scientific breakdown of the process and your decisions, like what the chemical is doing and how it does it's job and why you may use that vs something else. Heck even jump into a faux classroom or something wearing a lab coat and break it down for us on a white board.
    I think that'd be a great way to take your videos to another level and set you apart from other cleaning channels or relaxing content.
    Here's to hoping we see Professor Myles I'm some future videos.

    I used to be a commercial janitor for grocery stores around the time polished concrete became popular. We took over a contract for a store where for four years they kept resealing and waxing the floor instead of stripping it. Long story short, a crew of 8 spent a month of overnights and when the store was finished it went from slate grey to an off-white.
    At the worst stage of stripping we had three swingarm scrubbers with black pads, and each machine had a full bucket of water weighing it down while a fourth person sprayed a hose in front of them. When that wasn't cutting through, we slapped on several 5" diamond polishing pads around the scrubbing discs.

    I had to do a job like this for a much larger area and let me tell you it was a major hassle. What we ending up doing was pre treating the area then letting it sit until the wax came up. Then we got on our hands and knees and used razor box cutters to scrape the wax off by hand. It worked really well, but it took forever to complete.

    • @rdizzy1
      @rdizzy1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Why not use big, wide industrial push scrapers rather than a tiny box cutter?

    • @BDavis-rb6xn
      @BDavis-rb6xn 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@rdizzy1 not a pro floor cleaner but my 2 cents would be because even if a floor looks and feels perfectly level, it's not. The bigger the scraper the more likely you'll find out how many dips and rises are in the floor by gouging the corners of the scraper into the floor and doing more serious damage. Or the floor could have been textured with a faux stone finish which would make a bigger scraper basically useless.
      Also you would have to apply more pressure to get the same scraping effect and not just skitter across the surface which likely would be (even more) tiresome rather than tedious on what is already an unforgiving job (speaking from when I volunteered with a group for refinishing a floor and laying down commercial floor tile for community service one time).

    I feel this.... I took over as a cleaning supervisor at a retail store. The "wood" floors were waxed SO thick with dirty wax. The floors were smooth... even though the "wood" had a texture. They waxed down dust and under fixtures no one was ever walking on... The very light brown of the floor was gray... Should never have to strip those floors. My first task as the supervisor was to fix the floors. Never done anything like floors or waxing in my life. Had to strip all these wood floors 3 times. So much scraping and scrubbing around the edges. And then trying to clean the wax up while it's still wet so it doesn't clump up and try on anything. What a mess... They were so pretty afterward though :D

    I absolutely despise tile. The grout always gets filthy, it’s cold, and the tile actually have almost little divets. I would love to remove all the tile that we have in our home. Ideally I would love to go with cork flooring in the bathrooms & something easier for the kitchen & laundry room. You guys do phenomenal work and I would use you in a heartbeat if I still lived in Georgia

      I have sealed and resealed grout. It never works. I had very well house trained dogs but the older they got (or were sick), they made a few messes. No matter what I cleaned that grout with, it still smelled of urine (my husband calls me bloodhound bc I have a super sniffer and can smell even the slightest dribble of dog/cat pee). No more tile!!!!

    I've been watching your videos for some time now, and I always enjoy them! I appreciate all the hard work you do and the great outcomes you have.
    I have a question for you, if you don't mind. I have area rugs on wood floors--no mats. I used to clean the rugs with an anti-allergen powder that got a mist of water and dwelt about 30 mins. Then, I scrubbed with a brush, let them dry and vacuumed. It cleaned the rugs and didn't get any water on the wood. I'm old and disabled now. I can't scrub those rugs anymore. I also can't roll them up to be picked up. I don't know how to get these rugs cleaned and I'm worried about getting water on the wood floors. What's your best solution for me to get these rugs cleaned? Sure do wish I lived closer to where you are! Thanks a lot for your consideration.

      From relatives being managers of supermarkets I know those tiled floors get a mixture of stuff on them to strip the old wax off and of course the dirt. Then cleaned off, then more wax slipped on, left to dry again. Sometimes buffed up sometimes not.
      I wouldn’t have thought it was safe to put wax on a kitchen floor. But I don’t know of course

    • @wmluna381
      @wmluna381 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They want it shiny at all costs. Even if applying the product is not appropriate or recommended.
      Eventually, it will start to look dull and dirty after multiple applications.
      And that is where the expensive and arduous floor stripping nightmare begins.
      For the customer, if they decide to DIY and rent a floor scrubber, 3M Hi-Pro black pad or brush, a doodle + pad, a floor scraper blade tool, splash guard, wet vac, and learn the machine on a curve right along with the intricacies of applying and managing stripper while you do the work, getting up the slurry, neutralizing, and mopping things clean.
      And even more pain if they choose a cheap price company over an experienced professional who is going to take everything down to the bare tile and charge appropriately for their time.
      It is awesome if you only have to strip once with a quality stripper. Oftentimes, you may have to give it another go or 2 or have to start getting creative with weights, etc.
      Stripping floors is hard / physical work and many non-pro people don't get that at all. If stripper gets on other flooring, carpet, splashes your walls...good luck.
