    Very well explained ganesh sir.. sir is it possible to remove headlight outer cover clean that inside?

    • @GaneshBalan
      @GaneshBalan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No you can’t do that. The lens is sealed to the housing using butyl glue. If you have to remove the lens, you have to heat the joint using a heat gun and separate the two parts. I’ve done this during the projector lamp fitment.

      Hi, if you are ok with LED bulbs, Phillips has launched a set of LED bulbs under Ultinon Weathervision brand. They have both - warm white and cool white options.
      Have a look:

    Hi ganesh please suggest suitable bulbs upgrade in OEM specs halogen for vw ameo( dual barrel ) for both high and low beam

    • @GaneshBalan
      @GaneshBalan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Get the H7/H1 relay + wiring harness and a set of H7 80W bulbs.
      Higher wattage bulbs produce a lot of heat which affects the coating on the reflectors inside the headlight assembly so you’ve to be mindful about that and don’t go all lights blazing.

      @@GaneshBalan boss does this void warranty if we install aftermarket wiring harness along with relay for 90/100 W halogen bulbs

    • @GaneshBalan
      @GaneshBalan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If any of the electrical components go kaput during the warranty period, the service centre will point out to this modification and can potentially deny you the warranty replacement.
      A good wiring harness however has suitable protections in place to protect the car’s stock wiring and components with a relay and 2 fuses. This is a safe modification with a good quality wiring harness.

    Hii gannu.... my 2017 polo's high beam focus is incorrect. They are focusing outwards rather than inwards... Can u be kind enough to let me know how to fix this ??

    • @GaneshBalan
      @GaneshBalan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Vrushabh. Sure I’ll help you. What model is your Polo? Does it have a single barrel headlamp or a dual barrel one? In any case, the headlights have a white plastic hex slot at the rear which you can adjust using an Allen key. Park your car 5m away from a wall, turn on the high beams, pop up the bonnet and locate the beam adjustment screws and use the Allen key to do it. Check your car’s user manual too. It’ll be mentioned there.

    Very informative but the main thing you didn't provide information about how to remove the stock leveling motor and reinstall it in new headlight
    I am struggling on this part. The rest is easy 😢

    • @GaneshBalan
      @GaneshBalan  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks! I should have touched upon the headlight levelling motor as well. But I’ve done it several times when I was doing the projector retrofit on my Polo and can tell you it’s easy. You just have to get the slotting part right.
      The levelling motor has a shaft with a ball end. Insert it into the hole and it should slot itself into the recess on the reflector from one side. Just look at the recess properly and study it. And insert the ball end properly.
      Once you get it inserted into the reflector, twist the levelling motor by one quarter clockwise. And that will fit it in place.
      You’ll get it right after a couple of tries.

    • @DroopyXD
      @DroopyXD 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @GaneshBalan thanks for the prompt response. That's something I learnt today and it's super easy than those ball-socket types.

      @DroopyXD Great! Before slotting it into the reflector, maybe you can test it out by asking someone to move the knob and see if the motor is working?

    Hi Ganesh, when removing my left headlight I think i put to much pressure on left side and now when I'm putting it back it doesn't go back like original. I get a 0,5cm gap which you can see from the left side of the car and under the headlight you can see that it doesn't sit flushed to the body which you can also feel the difference with a finger compared to the right one. I noticed that to small clips under Headlight was broken after investigating the issue but the two big ones under the Headlight (which you show in the video) were intact. But if I see correctly in your video those two small clips are not whole in your car either.
    Any idea? The only thing I can think about is buying a new mounting bracket for the headlight which I can find for 20$ third party, or OEM is 65$. I'm referring to the bracket under the headlight and not the screw bracket on the top side because the screw hole aligns correctly and no issues putting in the screws.

    • @GaneshBalan
      @GaneshBalan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, did the mounting clips moulded to the headlight give away or the one on the body?

    • @Husramash
      @Husramash 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GaneshBalan Hi, it was on the body itself and not on the Headlight itself. Will have to double-check that but it didn't seem that any clip on the headlight itself broke when I checked it. It was the two smaller clips and not the two bigger ones on the underside of the body.

      Hello, i have same problem. Did you already fix your headlight? Can you give me some information how did u do that?

    • @Husramash
      @Husramash 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JK-xu8ly Hi. I tried to get it done in a cheap garage. They adjusted one of the two big clips that got bent on the bracket that goes under the headlight but it wasn't fixing the issue to so they adjusted the top bracket on the car itself to compensate for how the headlight was not sitting correctly. The end result was OK but I wanted a perfect fit so I went to the official VW service center.
      There they mounted a new bracket under the headlight but again it wasn't enough, so they had compensate the fitment by both adjusting the bottom and top bracket. Also they had to be 2 guys that was pushing the headlight to correct position while the 3rd guy was putting in the screws. The fitment was like 95% origina. But in the future It will be very difficult for me to alone get the exact fitment like they were able to get if I were to install a new bulb.
      Both the cheap garage and VW dealership came both the conclusion that someone has hit my front bumper and that's why my headlight wasn't aligning correctly. They said that any minimum impact on the bumper can cause these type of issues.

    Dear sir, I am planning to buy a used polo just like this one. But there is a problem. the headlight glass is like new, but the belt that goes around it is cracked at 2 places. does that indicate that there was a collision before, that the car must have been hit in the past?

    • @GaneshBalan
      @GaneshBalan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jelena. That may not be true. The glue that is used to stick the headlight’s lens to the body is butyl glue. Excessive heat may also cause cracks to come up. Please do a thorough search before buying a second-hand car, the owner must be truthful about any past incidents also. There may be a few telltale signs - paint mismatch of panels suggesting the panel was painted later etc.
