I picked up a similar Hardrock in even better visual condition. I am doing a restore with replace wear bits, chain, cables, pads and upgrade saddle. Paint stem and bars. (2023) Later in year, over winter, cargo fork w20” front and 8 speed Alfine drive hub. The frame is in such prime condition is a great platform for a cargo bike.
Can't wait to see what you do with the bike. I have the exact same bike, down to the color. I've had it since new when I was 10 or so. I just dropped it off to a bike shop for a tune up. Been watching a lot of vintage restorations/ restomods and might start doing the work myself.

Mostly just cleaned it and tuned it up. My daughters friend has it now.
