The wasp is one of the villains of the animal world, along with the rat and the snake. The bee, on the other hand, is a creature we all love and admire. But wasps are valuable as well but they have a dark side, as illustrated in this video.
It strikes me how different their buzzing is. Honeybees have a high pitched tenor buzzing sound. Whereas wasps have a low pitched baritone buzzing sound. It also strikes me how the wasps are competing against each other for sugar water. And also competing against the honeybees for sugar water. Yet you never see the honeybees competing against the wasps for sugar water. Which isn't all that surprising since honeybees aren't as aggressive. Plus they are vegetarians. So they have no reason to attack wasps as opposed to finding sugar water elsewhere. Unless the sugar water is outside their hive.
Once saw a healthy Bumblebee fight off 2 wasps. Healthy bees just have as much prowess as wasps. It's just bees work harder than wasps and they get exhausted a lot more quickly. Usually at the end of the season you'll see wasps attacking bees because they are tired and dying. Wasps get desperate bees get weak.
In certain ways they are, as shown in the video. But I've noticed that if you threaten their nest, whether intentionally or by accident, they aren't very clumsy and waste no time when it comes to attacking and stinging via swarming.
@@paulstevens9409 Yeah they're not to be messed with! I've accidentally came in contact with their nests a couple of times in the woods, and they waste no time attacking a perceived threat to their nest. I'm amazed at how fast they can react with a coordinated team effort.

Paper wasps are not as aggressive as yellowjackets. They are mostly just minding their business trying to drink the sugar water. The yellowjackets are very aggressive, even towards other members of their own species. If the yellowjackets are not from the same nest, they will view each other as rivals. And yes, they can tell each other apart from facial recognition.
Bees are the more friendlier type.
