I love your video content, your personal accomplishments (20 languages, mas o menos), and I have gotten to appreciate Lingq as well. One thing that might be helpful is a deep instructional video on how to use Lingq, since almost every time you talk about Lingq in a video, I find myself thing "darn, I didn't know about that feature". Keep up the good work and domo arigatoo gozaimasu!

Αgreed about the need for a deep instructional video on how best to use LingQ; I missed the recent discussion video and wonder if this is still available to view.

  • @seymabasaran222

Absolutely agree! Recently, I found an old vocabulary list from when I was trying traditional methods to learn English - before I discovered LingQ. I looked at each word on that list and realized I didn't remember any of the words I’d tried to memorize the old-fashioned way. But all the words I learned through exposure, like reading books or listening to podcasts with LingQ, stuck with me naturally. LingQ doesn’t just make you memorize; it teaches in context, and you genuinely learn. Thanks, Steve! So glad I found this TH-cam channel and LingQ.

Dear Steve, congratulations on yet another great and informative video. As an enthusiastic student of languages, I am currently working on learning Portuguese. In addition to my native Turkish, I have learned English, German, Italian, French, Russian, Spanish, Bahasa Malaysia and Thai (only spoken one), to varying degrees of proficiency. I would have acquired LingQ in a heartbeat if the European Portuguese were available as a distinct teaching program. I get that Brazilian Portuguese is spoken by far more people globally, and in the Americas, but It is not as useful as its European variety in a continental European setting -- or, in an African setting for that matter. Oh, by the way, I live in Mozambique. All the best in your endeavors.

It would be great to have an AI tool to translate content from one LingQ language to another.
I realized that my German recommendations were more interesting (physics, Einstein's Bibliographie, etc) than my japanese recommendations (jpop songs and realities).
It would be nice to do that translation inside the app without needing an external provider, just like the ministories.

I like lingQ but prices are starting to be a bit too much for me. As a Canadian we should have the same prices in CAD than in USD. It's now 20$ CAD + taxes which is like 24$ per month. I know there is the annual subscription which you save but still these are the prices that it used to cost monthly not so long ago.

@Thelinguist, fantastic! Thank you for all your help along this journey. I gave LingQ a second chance and I'm really starting to love it. When I first started learning Spanish two months ago, it felt a bit overwhelming. Some of the presets confused me and left me feeling frustrated. However, I found a TH-cam video that recommended better settings for beginners, and that made a big difference. That said, LingQ truly is an amazing app, and I'm glad I listened to you and Olly Richards and decided to revisit it. I'm finally finding my groove now, and it's quite remarkable!

Just for the record: I have learned several languages through the years, so I am not a beginner when it comes to acquiring a new language.
