Story time! I began hunting Charmander in Firered around this time last year. I finally got it about a month ago after 30,004 SRs! Then I began hunting Bulbasaur just after midnight on July 4th. Got it after 292 SRs! Went to sleep, woke up and began hunting Squirtle and got it after 592 SRs! Moral of the story: keep your head up during those long hunts, you're just reaping shiny karma for the future!

I found Squirtle on Aug 29th, 2024. I am now random encountering for a shiny abra, I have an arena trap dugtrio so that it won't teleport away from me. Just hit 1,001 REs.

Is there a trick or tips to get that shiny starters like RNG manipulation in pkmn firered japan version? or soft reset is the only way possible to get shiny starter? Because in US and German version of pkmn firered you can use RNG manipulation, im just not sure in japan version.
these are actually genuine cartridges, and fast-fowarding defeats the purpose of what makes this a cool feat to achieve ~ If you're just gonna cheat for it, why even bother imo
Shouldn't it be 4,936 encounters for Squirtle? Sure you are dual reseting and it is the total but having it go up by 2 on each side makes it seem like you have done more resets than you actually have for the shiny. It isn't like you are using 2 devices for a shiny Bulbasaur as they are 2 different Pokémon.
