- So Apple decided to ditch the official leather case for the new iPhone 15 lineup and replaced it with the Fine Woven case. Since its release, this case has been getting so much negative coverage that I decided to grab one and see for myself and I have to honestly say, its not that bad! Only time will tell how this material wears over time!

I think another problem with this case is that it's priced the same as a leather case from Apple, and a good chunk of people who have bought Leather cases before find this finewoven case inferior in quality. It's not the worst case in the world, but I think under that audience I can understand the hate.
Yeah, if they priced it cheaper and didn’t position it as a leather replacement I don’t think it would be getting as much hate. It feels nice on my phone but it’s not the same quality as the leather ones.
i bought my leather case and before a month had passed the corners were losing colour
the corners were the fail points of the old cases and i think the case’s bumper protects that failpoint
my silicone case was more durable than the leather it lasted 8 months before it completely fell apart
The apple leather cases have been absolute garbage since the iPhone 12 though.

I’m using this case right now and I’m loving it. Super comfortable to hold, much lighter than leather, and plenty robust for drop protection. Recommend you try it for yourself and return it if you really hate it, instead of immediately rejecting it because of bad reviews!

I agree also, darker shades are better for finewoven and scratching the case isn’t as easy as people say it is, it has to be intentional and your nails have to dig into it. I tested the scratch resistance with my nails and with my keys there’s nothing there. Understand taking advice from people you don’t know on TH-cam doesn’t do any justice lol. People probably throw the phone on desks or machinery.
I agree, I’ve been using this case since its came out and it’s actually not that bad. Feels good in the hand. Still miss the leather cases from Apple tho.
I don't think the hate is so much that the case is awful, it's that they're charging the same amount as the leather.

It’s definitely not worth the same price as the leather case. If they would’ve made it $30 that would’ve been more reasonable still expensive though for the quality but reasonable. I’m a leather person and I’m not happy that Apple ditched that and I doubt it’s going to make any significant difference because the cows are already dead. The leather is just using every part that nothing goes to waste.
The issue is not about the case, it’s that Apple charging leather price on a recycled piece of plastic.
I ordered one because I always order a leather case every year for my new iPhone from Apple, but after two days I had to return it. It just looked terrible, scratched up super easily and honestly felt really cheap and is not worth anywhere near what they’re asking. The leather case was actually premium and felt premium. This just feels like junk.
I’m really enjoying the case. Feels terrific to hold and not a mark on it.
I ordered one and like the look and feel of it. Still waiting on my phone to see how it really holds up. I have had to laugh at all the people who are complaining about it getting scratches. The leather case does as well. It’s ok for the leather but not fine woven?

I ordered one after the event and got really worried after everyone started to make videos trashing the case. It doesn’t feel as premium as leather but thankfully it still feels great. Honestly, people just like to create drama and scandals for clicks and likes.
Great video Tee. I’m glad someone said it, we don’t know about the long term durability yet. It’s new. I’m just sticking with my spigen ultra hybrid clear case for my 15 plus personally.
Complains about people complaining that the case get scratched (because that is what a case is for) but also complains about the sound a case makes when you take it off or put it on. While that is not what the case is for 😁.
And apparently the sides are also finewoven material. But different.
I bought the new wallet made with the same material, in dark blue. It’s honestly a great little accessory and looks classy and elegant, also holds 3 cards from the get go. It’s one week old and sometimes it gets marks, but it goes away. Really happy with it so far.
5th day in with my taupe case and mulberry wallet and I have not had an issue.
I have the Evergreen Finewoven case with the Blue Titanium iPhone 15 Pro Max. It has a unique texture that I really like and looks premium. I dropped my phone onto concrete when I was sitting down and it has left some small dents in the material, so it's probably not as durable as leather or silicone. It hasn't happened yet, but I think the worst thing about the case is that sticky dirt or food may get trapped in the fibers, which will be hard to clean.
The problem is the price. Should be priced out at the silicone level at the most.

I got the FineWoven case for the iPhone 15 Pro and I will return it. Not due to what most people complain about, though: durability seems good, as well as the feel (it’s okay). The rim is also FineWoven with a coating. Fabric seems very durable and washable.
However, my unit has misaligned buttons and cutouts. It also creaks. Action button wobbles, volume down doesn’t have a detent and is too easy to press. Volume up is normal. Same for power. USB cutout is misaligned and barely accommodates the stock cable, and cuts into my pinkie.
Seams are also misaligned. One side cuts into the hand unlike the other.
I loved Apple’s leather cases despite them not having great patina. I am very sad now. Ordered the Mujjo leather case instead. Will probably never go back to Apple cases ever again in my life, unless they bring leather back or do something incredible with them.
I like my Taupe, the wear has been minimal and it still looks great. I'm ok with the sides, it actually is the same fine woven material but they coated it with an epoxy that makes it feel plastic like... apple did it to prevent staining of the parts you touch the most. I'm still undecided if I would ever buy another (and suspect the drama this year means Apple will abandon the design for next year) but its been WAY better than the folks who intentionally damaged their brand new cases made it out to be.
No doubt that leather is better. But I really liked the case and how light it is. Amazing buttons to be honest perfect. Also not sure what material the sides are but they are very smooth which is nice. Overall happy with it and doesn’t add bulk.
this is not a $60 case, i had the leather case for the 13 and it was awesome even though it turned black on the corners after a year, this is just a cheap case that apple is charging way too much for
The leather case turning blank on the corners is it getting a pantina, which is normal for leather
It is pretty funny how the internet is judging this case on the basis of how it will look like trash 6 months from now, yet the case is the first of its kind. It's ignorant to assume anything at this point because this is brand new material. All of my previous iPhone cases were Apple leather cases and since they're no longer available I went the fine woven case in pacific blue - I really like it so far. If my case ends up looking like trash 6-months from now, then so be it, and I'll find something else.
I’ve had mine a week and actually love it. You’re right though, the price point should be less since not leather. But the color, weight, and MagSafe strength is better than Nomad. Apple fans are like Star Wars fans 😂.

everyone sees your case, nobody sees the phone under it, so most people actually care about what the case looks like. its a $60 case, among the actual "premium" cases, and it looks like something you'd get for $15.

I disagree with your comment about the sides of the phone case. It doesn’t feel cheap at all. It actually feels premium. I’ve never felt a material like the material used on the side of the fine woven case. Everything about the case feels premium!! I will agree that the magnets are super strong 💪🏾

Honestly, the problem isn’t that the case gets scratched, its that even if you’re cautious with the case, you’re bound to see nicks within a week or two. Sure, the case is meant to protect the phone, but if you’re dropping all that money on a case, it should at least retain its new condition for at least more than a few days.

It’s not the case that’s the issue, it’s just the price. The case is actually a dope case and feels great in hand. However is it worth $60…..absolutely not. It’s more like a $35-$40 case all day. There are plenty of iPhone users that will def prefer the fine woven over a leather or silicone. So everyone just jumping on the “hate” bandwagon needs to stop. And price wise is all personal preference, some people have no issue spending $60 on this case and will be plenty happy with it.
I have the case and have been using it for a week. I love the feel and look. It has held up fine. Of course I haven’t tired to ruin it like some of the haters. I’m liking it. And the MagSafe is great!

It does provide great grip and looks good though. I have the Pacific Blue one on my blue titanium 15 pro and the combination looks great. As for durability, time will tell.
Love this! But it feels great in the hand but cheap? I got one today and I love it! Then I watched a few reviews and it ruined my day. Not really lol. I’m going to keep it and test it like you and see how it goes. It’s just a case and ultimately it’s supposed to protect the phone. Love your channel!

Just got it today in black on my regular 15. People are way overreacting, so far I am loving this thing.
If it had a cheaper price not many would complain what most complain about is that they are not getting quality over the price, if it was cheaper they would understand.
Didn’t mind the feel of the fabric, but the sides made it feel cheap. I had 2 cases, both had wobbly/loose/rattly buttons too, not worth the £60 like the leather was.
Good review Tee. I personally love mine. I got the black. Love how slim it is on the phone and the buttons are super responsive.

In my case the buttons feel like trash. They get loose over time and rattle . The sides also make a cracking sound if holding the phone firmly

That said, having bought 1 or 2 leather Apple iPhone cases along with my new iPhone every year, I decided to try one of these, and I too immediately hated it. It does feel cheap to me, I don't like the "two-tone" kind of style on the back and sides, and it's absolutely overpriced at $59. For SURE not a replacement to leather. It's its own thing. I think that's where Apple messed up, acting like this is a valid replacement for leather, when it is 100% NOT. Anyway - your Aspen collab came in clutch, cuz now I'm with Andar for my leather. :)

I have used it and it is just fine, no scratches or rips or marks. I work with motor oil pretty much every day.
I’m enjoying it and I got two cases this and a pelican. I love this case as a lounging case but if I’m at work I switch to the pelican

Bc the case will have stains on it forever every time I eat lunch or my kid picks up the phone. Plus it’s slippery as any other case in the world. The case is awful.
It isn’t going to last because I had a stain that I had No Idea where it came from, and I tried to get it out with some solution and couldn’t. Week in it has a ring where mag safe has charged it 3-4 times. It’s BAD
My initial reaction was "trash" and disappointment that they discontinued leather. But when I got the taupe in hand, it looks pretty nice against the natural titanium. My opinion immediately started to shift. I kinda feel like it looks MORE premium alongside my 13 Pro in an old apple leather case (feels cheap though tbh). After using the 15 pro with no case since I got it though, my main complaint with the finewoven is how slick it feels (mainly the sides). It almost feels more slippery in my hand than the phone with no case does. So now I'm on the fence for that reason. I'm probably going to return and wait for Andar to release an aspen with action button.
Yeah, that's my primary concern too. The slipperiness. Contrary to mass opinion, I don't have a problem with the materials used.

I know I’m in the minority but I actually like the look and feel of the FineWoven cases. I’d need to see what it looks like after a month or something of regular use. I hate how the leather cases turn into this ugly black color when it patina overtime
Same here. I’ve had the case for a week now on my 15 Pro Max and I’ve loved it so far.
Why is this dude so desperate to convince us that the worst iPhone case out there is worth a try? That's the problem with these reviewers. They have the income and the connections to try product after product after product, so they don't care if they get a dud because they know they'll be rocking a different one the next day. That's not the case for most consumers. The naive person who watches this video and decides to buy this iPhone case might not be flush with cash to just replace it when it breaks. This guy needs to stop trying to please Apple and if a product is garbage he needs to have the courage to say it.

I don’t hate the woven case. I like the buttons on it most. But I want leather. I am returning it and getting a 3rd party leather case.
I only have one problem with this case and that is why I've returned it: it is too slippery on the edges.

This crap should be an option, not a replacement for leather. This whole "We're so green and environment-friendly" shit companies do for their image pisses me off. If I want leather, I'm gonna get leather, even if Apple doesn't want to sell one to me. There are enough brands out there which want my money.
I ordered one and returned it after 2 days. It's too slick in the hand and the sides are a big part of the problem. I also thought it looked cheap. The fine woven material looks just a like a regular fabric, nothing special. I wish they made it with either the felt lining they use on the inside of the silicone cases or alcantara suede. I'm using the apple silicone case until I find something that I really like more. Any suggestions on a nice suede case that isn't bulky?

Ordered this case to my new iPhone pro max. Oh I almost puked when I saw it and felt it. Had to return it and bought an other leather case instead.
It's crazy to pay all this money to have a quarter of the quality of the leather case. What a big mistake by apple to go away from the leather, was the best
Etsy has high quality leather cases for ~$30 that are similar quality to Apple's leather cases. The fact that this cheap case is double the price is crazy.
I picked it up and found the material to be really similar to microfiber but worse as it feels like nails on a chalkboard to me. Also scuffed really easily. Picked up the Peak Design case (still waiting for it to ship) but I got their MagSafe wallet and the canvas material is MUCH better.
I liked the case. I was worrying about returning, but after a week, I really do like that elegant feel with a mate-fabric feeling on the back. No, it’s don’t feel luxurious, but I don’t buy a case for that reason, it’s should be comfortable to use and protect my phone.

if ever I will have that case I won't mind of the scratches. You use cases to PROTECT the phone, thus the case will get all the scratches instead of the main phone
Even to me with the leather cases, the sides always felt cheaper to me. and you can mark up the leather case kind of easily, but I guess that's ok cuz its leather and it patinas. It's the same thing imo.
Also people tend to just jump the gun and hate on anything that Apple does, even if other companies do the exact same thing. I just don't get it.
I was part of the crowd that hated it but I tried it out and so far I like it, love the feeling of the case it feels like suede, def not worth $60 I think it should be priced the same as the silicone which is $49 or even $39 but we all know how apple is....my advice is to try it, apple gives you 14 days, try it for 2 weeks then decide.
Finally got my phone yesterday after 4 weeks and was able to try this case.

Benks aramid is great. Firm sides, decent grip, slim profile, great buttons.

The drop protection is what concerns me on these cases. How do they hold up on a normal drop with concrete?

I knew you were a real one when you got the 14 plus. That’s why I still watch your channel. A lot of TH-cam reviewers like pandering to the Android mob and bash Apple products. Does Apple have some issues? Yes. However, I don’t see as much hate when a pixel is overheating. And as a person who has a s23 plus, you can’t go that hard on Apple for heat issues. At least it’s not exploding 😂. I probably won’t keep this case as there are so many better ones for less but thanks for at least giving it a shot and being objective.
Had the black one on my nat titanium max since September 22 shit look straight out the box people hate because it exposes themselves on how they take care their phone mines official because I trust my phone like a new born. Case feels like a very smooth alcantara material very thin the sides are not bad maybe over priced but it’s Apple lol

We are complaining because it costs $100. Not 50 or 40.
I think it feels nice on the phone, but out of the box it does not feel anywhere near as premium as the leather cases. So far I like the way it looks, but we’ll see how it holds up. The biggest problem I think is just the price. If it was like 1/2-2/3 the price of leather I think a lot of people would be more satisfied. It’s just that this does not feel like an adequate leather replacement. At some point I’ll probably try out an Andar leather case once this one starts getting beat up.
Update: after about 2 months the coating on the sides of my fine woven case started to peal off and it looked really bad. My wife got me an Andar case for Christmas.

I’ll wait to talk on quality/feel until I get one. I think the anger is also an underlaying anger of getting rid of leather and then selling this at the same price point as a leather case.
