- Here's a group of five Conair Aerial Firefighting Air Tractor AT-802 Fire Boss Initial Attack Firefighter air tanker aircraft seen in action scooping off of Kootenay Lake fighting a wildfire in the area.

Holy cow that's awesome- what a great capture! Float plane, check. Turbine powered float plane- oh heck yes. Multiple turbine powered float planes- I'm in heaven.
I live close by a lake that the air bosses and the Canadian air use to scoop water in our county. It always amazes me. The talent the pilots have to do what they do.

That's some outstanding footage, indeed! Getting all five watering up at once was great, and a really nice 'pay-off' in the cinematic sense. It reminded me of the 'swarms' of Piper PA-25's that would tend to the blueberry fields behind my housing development when I was a young teen. Same vibe, very awesome sight. Thanks!

the minimum amount of hours required to do this is between 3-5 thousand flight hours definitely not as easy as it looks
No, this type of flying definitely takes a lot of skill, experience and courage.

Nice videos! There sure are a lot of those aircraft in action! The shots look pretty cool with them all flying off in the same direction. We actually have a lot of Air Tractor's over here in New Zealand used for crop dusting, very versatile aircraft!

Conair has a cool fleet of aircraft.
Nice plane. That looks similar to Dusty Crophopper from Planes: Fire & Rescue (2014).
That’s bc dusty is based on the AT-802AF (Aerial firefighting). Air tractor makes crop dusters and aerial firefighting planes

It was a small fire and was contained quite quickly as what I was told by the bird dog pilot who I was chatting to the that same day

Estos AT-802 Fire Boss, Nunca podrán superar al mejor de los mejores al CL-415 El mejor avión anfibio para el combate de los incendios forestales.
Funny thing is that we had the CL215Ts in town last year and the AT-802s came in and they were more effective than the 215s bc they can just keep going and they can hit more direct than the 215s
AT-802 Fire Boss, Tiene muchos problemas con las olas tanto golpeteo queda todo desarmado es un problema que no ampodido solucionar, Para mi es mejor el CL-415 Saludos.
@@patricioherrerao.9311we only use them when the waters are calm as there were operating on fresh water and not on the ocean it makes sense that they would not be as good with the big waves but in a small town like Nelson where we have very calm water it makes tons of sense to use them Canada also operates the canadair family and they are widely used by every province in Canada. Conair has a big fleet of them which works well for rapid response to major fires
You don’t see CL415’s in the BC interior do you? Your response is not well researched based on the region this video is taken. An amphibian 802 is another means for the job that works quite well there.
@@FireBosspilot actually I live in Nelson where this video was taken I know Jesse and I know most of the pilots who flew that day bc they all texted me saying that they will be in town and the 215Ts were just in before the AT802s they came in to help suppress the fire while the 215s went and refueled in castlegar (CYCG)

The fire was on the other side of the mountain where Jesse would not of been able to go and also catch them scooping up water at the same time. The safest place for them to scoop water was also near Nelson on a nice straight stretch
Awesome camera stabilization going on here, I had a chance to shoot this kind of activity. No gimbal ! Just hand held. I don't know what camera you're using, mine is a GH4 LUMIX, I have a setting that allows me to set the shutter angle. So I have my shutter angle set at 180 degreased, at 24fps And I get a Natural Prop motion . Next time I'll try shooting at 30fps and run it in 24fps in post. I just watched your full video and it was awesome, really great quality footage. Love those close-up views and the fire looked really threatening. I shot mine with the Panasonic VX870, all handheld too. Starting to look for a new camera now but not sure which one to get.
@TheHDAviation Awesome job keeping your footage stable. I think I need more practice. Next opportunity I'm going to work hard at getting the shot. I'm thinking these pilots and companies would love to get some video of themselves doing their job.
