I love how the first half is so contained like the owl is measuring how strong Sekiro has become. But the second phase is all out no holds barred. He knows Sekiro is capable so he’s just going off. My favorite boss by far
I love the way he throws the little things that lock your healing, it's so comical, it looks like he doesn't know what he's doing, but, that is his intention, to trick you into believing he's doing something harmless, when it's arguably his most devastating attack. It's little subtleties like that that turn this game from a five out of five to a six out of five.
Father is very personal music, and trying to show a moment in the wolf story. The great shinobi is a music for someone trying to murder you and being very good at it. Tbh i like it more too
Both Owl tracks are composed by Noriyuki Asakura, but the Owl Father was arranged by Yuka Kitamura, so it sounds more in line with her own tracks. This one has a way different and more unique feel to it, as do all other tracks from Asakura as well, which i prefer too.
I feel that Owl as a boss, is a test of your nerves and ability to cope under pressure. Owl hits like a truck and can deathblow you if you're not careful. Gyobu was more of an introduction to parrying and posture, and Genichiro a test of your general knowledge of the fighting mechanics. Owl is a test of your focus and ability to remain calm and keep going despite relentless heavy attacks.
Sounds like rurorini kenshin and tenchu because yuka kitamura collaborated with the guy who composed the music for tenchu wrath of heaven which is the same dude who made the music for kenshin himura.

One of the best tracks in the game for one of the most despicable and yet best-written characters ever made by FromSoftware.
Same character - two completely different fights and music moods. Example how to re-use boss properly.
Nah, just throw two separate bosses in a room and make them share an incomplete health bar, way easier.

Honestly, phase 2 for great shinobi theme and phase 1 for father theme. I do enjoy when it picks up the pace
