Harrasing The OnX Build Challengers

- The participants of the OnX Build Challenge came back into town to retest their new builds on the Moab Rim Trail. So we decided to crash the party and take our 'stock' 78 chevy pickup up the trail behind them. We hung around at the back of the pack and had fun. We followed them up above the Z-Turn obstacle and then followed them back down. We got to help Rudy out when he broke his traction bar mount off and his Welder had died reattaching it, so we let him borrow our Premier Power Welder to finish the repair. We had a great time and wish all the participants the best of luck. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

This just goes to show you that knowing your rig and having skill goes along way on the trail.
Been proven time and time Again, thumbs up
I’ve seen my buddy stock 4 banger 4x4 1985 ranger do incredibly well. He says the less you care about a rig the better it will do off road.
Especially when it breaks
True
And having Rory to spot you is the ultimate. The man could guide a novice through these trails on a riding lawn mower.🤣
Having Rory as your spotter is the biggest cheat ever! 😋
I would be honored to have him as a spotter. He knows exactly what a vehicle is going to do before it goes there!
Very True!
Think Rory and the crew should win the onxy off road challenge just for being able to do the same trail in a wrecker 😂
bleepin jeeps understood the onx assignment
As Mario Andretti used to say: "It's not just the car, it's the DRIVER." And the spotter... 😂
I couldn't help buddy.
Andretti also did a spectacular crash in the pits !😅
Exactly!!!
Andretti don't create that, he's repeat something what someone else says, who really says that was: "juan manuel fangio"🇦🇷
The first human to get five F1 world championship, and fangio say that to the owner of mercedes benz F1 team in the early 50's, who later made a contract with fangio to drive the silver arrow
If you don't know what you talk, that made a.moron, just for say it!!!!
Justin the man, getting so many videos out. Thanks for that.
SAAAlute
have always said rory can guide a blind man thru a mine field . not to take away from shawns driving abilities but i have watched him direct soooo many people thru obstacles that experienced crawlers get butt pucker on . GREAT job to rory and crew
Rory is not a "stock" spotter.....
If I was ever taking a vehicle through that kind of terrain, Rory would be my #1 choice for a spotter.
I think the ultimate adventure needs a official recovery team, trailmater perhaps 🤔
Justin you do a great job on these videos. Thanks for all your hard work.
I don't know how much you pay Justin, but it isn't enough! The editing is fantastic. Ol' Blue looks pretty capable even without lockers. Great video!
Justin's skills of Editing are Amazing !! ❤
My favorite thing is when that basically stock blue Chev does things it shouldn’t.
As usual amazing things happened when you are around. Thanks for sharing.
32-33" tires on a 1 ton dually not using lockers, WOW! Did the same job as heavily modified vehicles with 40's and lockers. Rory, YOU ARE THE MAN!!!! Challenging yourself because no one would challenge you that is cool!!!
Always amazed at the skill demonstrated by you guys.
The years of experience that Rory, Shawn & Mike have running the trails shows in how well they can all read the best line to take. Some really good looking builds. Nice to see Justin, the man behind the scenes. Thanks for sharing.
Great video! People don't understand that you can still wheel your 4x4 without lockers. It takes skill but can be done effectively. Lockers are like the easy button, but they will get you into places. Sometimes, you should not be LOL. I have many times, and I have no shame in my game when it comes to using my winch versus destroying my rig.
Nice job showing what you can do with that tow truck. I was impressed.
Rory is a genuine MASTER at running trails, weather it's in trailmater, ole blue or helping others. No wonder He won the off road wrecker games & skills once again shows here.
Enthused to see true rock-crawling! Some folks insist on cramming the onion, with all wheels flinging rocks while tearing up environment as well as their rig. Slow and gentle works better, more often than not. Thanks, Rory, Shawn, Mike, & Justin for demonstrating class to the class.
Mike, I agree with you on the S10 winning.
"Stock" Ol' Blue and team did pretty good on that trail. A lot of experience in that crew. It was cool to see how they all modded their vehicles. Rudy's paint scheme is the bomb. Thanks for taking us along.
Good to see Justin's face, thanks for your outstanding work in the editing booth, mate! Great driving and great spotting!
Old Blue performed admirably on this test without lockers. Rudy got some help with welding the Ram Charger and keeping it going. Having fun on the trails.
Things go much better when Rory is spotting for a stock vehicle, and even better when he is driving it. Rory after all is the trail whisperer. 😊
This shows us that it’s a combination of rig, driver, and spotter. Thanks for showing us how it’s done.
Didn't even need the light bar; proves the skill of the Trail Mater crew again! Lots of fun and great technique by all the drivers and spotters.
I love those 1/2 doors. The cup holder is fantastic! Great job as always.
Shout out to Justin for his editing skills! Taking Blue up there is a testament to the Trailmater team. Rory, you got some good hands there, and they prove it all the time! Great Vidya!
Full size towrig keeping up with the trail rigs! Yup, it's the Trailmater crew!
That tow truck is HIGHLY MODIFIED because of one modification it has! The driver mod 😂
Im convinced Rory could guide an inexperienced blind person up any Moab trail. Calm, confident and accurate. Nice work sir!
I want to see Shawn's "Wagon burner" hit the trails soon!! Lol
Those custom half doors are the secret weapon to help a stock square body do so well on obstacles!
Sweet nice to see y'all showing that a stock vehicle can make it with experience and know how your totally gifted in the ways of reading the lay of the terrain and rocks awesome video guys
Wow, Shawn did a great job of running the course without inflicting damage to the new wrecker.
Never even scratched paint😅
Well Done team TrailMater 👏
I have to say, Justin, you do an outstanding job. Editing these guys can not be easy at all.
Rory brings a supertanker to a jetboat race - and wins.
I love it, a stock Chevy dually running the trail as good or better than the modified rides. Rory, I think that this stands for breaking hearts and killing dreams...
This was a great video. I really like the no added drama of your channel Rory. You and your crew are one of, if not the best on youtube when it comes to crawling videos. Keep the videos coming.
The Trail Mater Team...looking good...Rory, Mike and Shawn...ultimate knowledge, tire placement and line...well done in old wrecker .
You did just as good as those other guys and didn't have to follow a budget! Good job Rory, Mike and Shawn!
Never stop challenging yourself Rory, you will continue to do great things in life! Cheers 🍻
Rory hanging out with you guys would be a lot of fun. Doing the trail in old blue which is stock without using lockers and not have issues while the three teams had some issues was interesting to watch.
Just goes to show skill triumphs over technology. A skilled driver can get a stock rig as far or farther than an unskilled driver with a built rig but the cravat is that at some point the only way forward is to have options ie lockers ,bigger tires, stronger components and the skills to use them correctly.👍
Most really think a lift, lights, body accessories, and wheels/tires are the most important, but lockers, tires, and practice are really the most important.
So many focus on building something that looks big and shiny like what’s in magazines and think that’s what a badass rig is.
That climb was nuts without lockers. Looks like Ol Blue has pretty much ideal weight distribution and wheelbase. Some of the other rigs looked a bit tipsy on their balloon tires haha
Rory just has the experience needed... I love watching this channel!!!
Just as there is no replacement for cubic displacement, there is also no replacement for common sense and intelligence with a couple kilos of experience thrown in for fun... My favorite YT channel extant! Thanks, guys for posting often! It makes the days go by a little better. 💛
True Blue thru and thru. They may be driving stock - but, those cowboys know the rocks of Moab like the back of their hand!
Your design, spotting, and driving skills (both Rory and Shawn) are amazing. Great job on that trail with that rig!!
Props to Justin. Rory could guide a fat camp thru a donut shop without any napkins.
You know your good, win you make it look so Eazy. Rory is fun to watch. And the boys.
Rory, Mike, and Shawn all work so well together and they know these rigs of theirs inside and out !
It's always fun watching them do what they do best and that be crawling around on the rocks .
Thanks for letting us ride along with Y'all in these videos Gentlemen, it is always fun and sometimes a little bit scary on some of them trails.
Stay Safe Gentleman and be Blessed ! ✌️❤️🙏
Matt: "okay now backwards"
Rory: "Okay, bet"
That was a lot of fun! Proof it's not what you drive, but how you drive it. I really wasn't surprised
Nice run. At 7:55 it looks like the rubber in the carrier bearing is about shot.
Watching Rory pilot 'Ol Blue up the Z turn is all the evidence I need to prove he has his own trail maps with specific rock features in his head! Outstanding video work by Team Mater! Especially enjoy the split camera views of the trail with Rory working the controls and the under carriage too.
Great vid. nice seeing Rudy and Janelle out on the trail. Time pressure makes you miss things while fabricating.
Just another quality educational "School is in Session" video, put on by Moab Motorsports University of HardRocks. Professor Rory handing out the finest lessons for those who wish to pay attention. May the three of you always remain strong in your conviction to be great friends, family members, co-workers, content creators, and all around awesome dudes 😎. You guys got something special and there are millions jealous of it.
That was just plain awesome. Your skill is just beyond belief.
Pretty awesome to see a pretty stock one ton square body pickup doing the same obstacles as these “ built “ rigs! Great video, keep up the good work!
Gonna have to challenge Rory to something next time I’m in Moab I guess, lol …. Judging by those last few seconds of video, maybe a footrace 😂
Good watch was fun when I took my tow truck up there too!
What a crew and what awesome builds! Making another shop move and still putting out awesome content!
Shawn killed it, awesome driving, and great spotting Rory. It is nice to see Justin infront of the camera for once. Great job showing how amazing your driving skills are. I'm glad you were there to help Rudy as he needed it. I was impressed by Colt in the little blue beater. Thanks for taking us along.
Hands down! Rory is the "King" of rock crawling!
Rory,
You are a rock ninja! Absolutely amazing!
The cupholders in the half doors might be the greatest thing I've ever seen
Believe Rory could take a Ford pinto wagon and make the trails look easy. Great job guy's. Love watching you guy's just out having fun. Thanks for the video stay safe.
Looks like it was good fun in the stock truck... 🙂 Thanks for sharing...
Great content. Making it look easy. Still waiting to see if Rory will do the blindfold challenge.
What? You DOUBT him? Heathen!
Moral of the story: A stock dually Squarebody is the ultimate sleeper wheeling machine.
I never noticed the cupholder in the door. 11/10
Rory needs to be given a PhD in Physics and Geometry. He has demonstrated clear superior grasp of them throughout his videos.
Well done!
A fine example of a fun day on the trail
Hi Trail mater me and my husband are coming to see you in September sometime ok we can't wait to see you I hope you will be there ok love Lorilee xoxoxoxox
@5:06 Kudos Justin! Your editing is awesome!
Rudy's RADCharger is such an awesome build. Really hope he gets the votes he needs to make it Ultimate Adventure.
Team RAD actually got votes deducted for supposedly being almost $5k over budget.
I like the RADCharger but my vote is going to Colt.
this was fantastic guys , great job
Wow. What a fun ride. And all of those build challenge rigs look like they turned out fantastic!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Title says Harassing, somebody said "support" in case they broke down ...
I see it as 99 Level Trolling!!! Taking an overweight stock truck on that trail!!!
Awesome!!!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
Thank you knowledge is everything
That was a fun video to watch. Enjoyed watching that tow truck pick it’s way through. A lot of fun!
Kids will be kids. "Welcome to my playground" 😂
Hello Justin! Thank you for all you do to get the videos out so that we can enjoy them! You do a fantastic job and we are happy that you put up with all the shenanigan's the crew throws at you and STILL manage to make them look their best!
Rory spotting ability is why him and Laura is going to win the off-road
They went a bit better that time and truck did well without lockers. Thanks guys.
"That was exciting." - Amen
hey if you go to 7:52 and look at the Driveshaft bearing you can see it wobbling. may need attention soon. great driving though! goes to show theres alot to be said about picking your lines and knowing how to drive!
To everyone involved, this was great
Can't beat experience, knowledge and home field advantage. "We don't need no stinking lockers"!
@7:40 you soomm beeechh.!!! So awesome seeing you guys work .!! Never doubt it.!!
Knowledge is the most important aftermarket product you can get. Knowing when and how to do something is more important than lifts, or lockers.
Can't wait to see you on 24 hell and back !!!!
Shawn has some driving skills!
Don't forget rory Ole blue and trailmater both have leaf spring suspensions
Truly enjoy watching this channel. Keep doing what you do 💪🏼
Holy moly- I can feel the heat from those torque converters all the way down here in Oklahoma!! Lol thanks for taking us along....
Every time you think Blu is about to crinkle a body panel or a cross member she just misses and Rory keeps climbing deeper and deeper into the trails with a "stock" square body. lol Love it. be safe
Great spotting by Rory! The driveshaft center support looks to be asking for help.
