    You always make it look so easy. It's these videos (or picture tutorials) that have SAVED my phone SO many times in the past decade. The last Motorola I had didn't have wireless charging so I had to replace the charging port board... 3 times. It wasn't complicated to get to, but plugging that board in was not easy. The plug was at an awkward angle. So glad I finally was able to upgrade to this- with wireless charging! ☺️

    Thank you for mentioning the differences between the Moto Edge+ (2023) and the Edge 40 variants.
    It really seems like the U.S. Motorola phones (the Edge Plus) we get screwed over.
    Id be interested to see if the non U.S. versions support 125w charging, as i know the U.S. versions do 68watts but Motorola does sell a 125 watt charger so....

      :) It's just held on with adhesive. Use a hair dryer to heat it up to loosen the adhesive, and you can use a razor blade or Xacto knife to pry it off. Then you will need new replacement adhesive and the replacement glass to re apply. Check mobilesentrix.com or rounded.com to see if they have the replacements.

      Here is a link for some parts which are for the edge 40 pro which is the same phone just rebranded. www.ebay.com/sch/43304/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=edge+40+pro+&LH_TitleDesc=0&_sop=16 . Also no, the only way you would be able to have more ram is by using a motherboard from one of the models which has higher ram since its soldered to the main board.

    Is there an antenna band difference between US and non US versions. Would the US Battery fit in the X40 Pro?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is a slight difference in antenna bands, primarily in the 5G section, but for the most part, a majority of the bands are similar on the different region devices. As for the battery, I'm not 100% sure since I don't have an x40 to test with but I think it should fit. As far as working I'm almost positive it will work, its more of a matter of if it would fit in the space which from the looks of it, it will.

      @@PBKreviewsThe US version disappoints me on paper with it's 8gb of RAM. • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup, not sure why they make so many different variants for different regions, yet alone lower the some specs for the US. They should make one and offer it in different configurations of memory and storage available the same way worldwide.

    So that's why they lowered the ram. So that a bigger battery would fit inside. /s

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      lol, in reality the size of the ram won't have anything to do with it but only thing I can think of is they made the battery slightly thicker but the layout or internal design is exactly the same as the X40 etc, so not sure how they made a larger battery fit since the 4600mAh one was already maxed out space wise. I don't have an x40 or edge 40 pro on hand to compare side by side unfortunately. Might also be a different battery tech which allows the battery to have higher capacity in the same size.

  • @the_shameless

    Literally makes zero sense with their RAM and storage configs for thr different market models. Also kind kf aggravating we dont get that super fast 125w charging in the US. Still prefer the bigger battery i think though😂

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure if I will be doing that brand yet, since it has very few lte bands and really none of which are useful in the US (to be able to resell after the video), so the price vs the views on the phone I would expect to get would not justify me doing it.

      @@PBKreviews please bro you will definitely get the Indians views and subscribers soon

    • @adityaisgreat21
      @adityaisgreat21 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PBKreviewsYes it'll be very interesting to see Lava Agni 2's teardown since it's that brand's first phone that seems good. I mean you'll probably get more views than you get on brands like Doogee. I believe you have a lot more Indian viewers than you might think.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah but Doogee has a collaboration with me, so I don't purchase the phones. However say on phones like IQOO or Tecno, those are Indian markets as well but I get very low viewers on those videos. So for example on the Lava Agni 2, if I purchase the phone to do a video on it, the ad rates on Indian market devices are low usually. After I am done with the video, it would only bring me anywhere from $5-$50 for that video in the long run. So the fact it has limited network bands which are not compatible in the US, I would not be able to resell the device afterwards or if I am, it would be at more than 50% mark down, sometimes even 80%. So basically at the end I end up making anywhere between a 50% to 80% loss on the video. This is almost always the case with Indian variant devices I do videos on. If the phone has more network bands which are able to be used in more countries, than it makes more sense for me since I would at least be able to minimize the loss I would make on the video. However I will keep checking, if I am able to find one at a good price I will consider doing it for you guys. :)

    • @adityaisgreat21
      @adityaisgreat21 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the explanation, it all makes sense. That's a big loss. I better understand your reason now. Hopefully you are able to get it very cheap, if not, then it's fine as well.

    @PBKReviews : Can we use 2 Physical SIM with this Phone (Motorola Edge+ 2023) ?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, it has 2 physical sim slot sim tray, but honestly I didn't try it out. I would think that it would work, but sometimes the dual sim tray is software disabled in certain regions and from what I remember, usually US versions are disabled. So even if you enter a second physical sim, the ream reader pins will be disabled and wont register the second sim. I don't have the device on me anymore to test, or else I would.

    BUYER BEWARE !!!!
    I bought this phone on May 19th 2023 when it was first available. I got it two days later. The following day I wanted to activate it with Verizon, this phone was clearly advertised as being compatible for Verizon. Verizon told me otherwise. Motorola told me it's compatible with Verizon. I had to argue with both companies that they oppose each other's opinion and I'm just the person who pays for the device. There was no solution being offered from neither of both parties. It is unbelievable that Motorola could not find the issue and you would think they work long enough together with all the carriers to figure out how to make a phone and how to sell it. Since Motorola couldn't find out this problem the literally told me I want to return it and ask for my money back.
    I asked them if they are going to tell this every single customer who wants to buy this device and cannot activate it, opposing the initial compatibility as per advertisement. I got nothing but apologies.
    Don't buy this phone!
    The initial title of my review was :
    "not overwhelming for a current flagship"
    This is my second motorola. The first one I just replaced with this edge Plus 2023. I must say it's nice but not overwhelming for the price I paid. My old Motorola MOTO z4, which is now 4yrs years old, had also already a 50 megapixel camera. So this did not change much except of the software. Also my old Motorola has a much more saturated colored display ( if you compare one by one). However the display is very good and the stereo speakers do the rest, TH-cam videos are a charm. It's a downside not to have an external memory card slot. However, I can use an adapter cable and access a flash drive through USBC. I may update this review.

      I just got mine and haven't gone to the store to activate it yet. I will say that in my experience with activating my previous unlocked phone the oneplus 7 pro i had to make a few calls to get them to activate a part of the chip as it wasn't on their bring your own device list. As long as you have the north American model, they should be able to activate it, unfortunately some of the Verizon techs are more informed than others, you might have to try a couple times. It's annoying, but the manufacturers aren't lying, Verizon just makes it a hassle.

      Although this phone has all the compatible bands for 4G for Verizon, and most 5G bands aside from UW 5G, it is not marketed as a Verizon device but as Unlocked. Usually when it comes to Unlocked devices, its a hit n miss with Verizon. First, as long as you have all compatible bands for 4G, it should work fine but say for 5G you wont get UW band 5G since the phone doesn't come with the mmWave 5G antenna. Second, with Verizon, they don't have an open network for unlocked devices, meaning only Unlocked devices with approved IMEI's on their list will be "allowed". Now what happens is for example I have used Unlocked devices with an already active sim by just popping the sim in the phone or "hot swapping" the sim as its called. In most cases it should work fine with no issues, but weekly or semi weekly Verizon runs purges that kicks off certain devices which are running on their network without them being approved on it which would cause me to have to pop that sim into an approved devices and activate it again, then pop it back into the unlocked device to have to do that all over again every week or 2 weeks. Not this has happened only on some Unlocked devices that are international models. As for US unlocked devices you shouldn't run into any issues like that, BUT you will run into issues if you try to call Verizon to activate the device with a rep, since most average reps don't know much more than you do. You will almost always have to talk to tier 2 tech support since they have the tools to be able to properly get it activated, or if not they would tell you to activate the sim on an approved Verizon devices then pop it into the unlocked phone. Now I know for a fact, if Verizon wants to, they can approve an IMEI on their system and add it to the approved list on a per customer basis, but its extremely rare. I have done it once before for a phone I really wanted to use on Verizon which had compatible bands, but 1: it was on a business line, 2: I had to talk to a higher department above their tier 2 tech support and they had to file a ticket with the engineering department to manually add the IMEI on the list so it would work properly, and 3: they only did it since if it wouldn't have worked, I was going to switch the business accounts to a different carrier to be able to use the device. This only got honored once for me and I tried another time with no success and they declined to do it. SO yeah very long story short, its not Motorola's fault or issue, but the problem is with Verizon and who you actually get on the line to help you. If you see the rep is unable to or doesn't know what their doing, ask to be transferred to tier 2 tech support and if that doesn't work, call back and again ask for tier 2 and try with a different rep.

      @@PBKreviews wow, thanks for the information. I hardly give up on something,i actually called twice Verizon on their hotline myself. But i don't believe it was a tech level 2. Your details are quiet amazing. One would think the manufacturers would know this issue about Verizon and clear this out for good, it harms both companies and their reputation. I will try to buy it today at best buy, only because it seems like there is currently no other phone on the market with the same specs for this price. Thx again
