    Excellent. Concise and clear instruction of how to prune ... the best I've seen on TH-cam. Really surprised and saddened no videos have been made recently.

      I have a Phlomis Fructicosa-Jerusalem sage, can I take cuttings from it this time of year for propagation?

    • @Quickcrop
      @Quickcrop  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Propagate by softwood cuttings in summer or by division in the spring.

    Could you propagate from the cuttings?

    • @Quickcrop
      @Quickcrop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, yes you can. It's best to use cuttings from younger plants as they are less likely to carry disease. :)

    Very helpful video thank you, you told me how and why...always useful. My gooseberries have just fruited for the first time and I now know what to expect. I didn't get too many fruits but I hope to get more next year with judicious pruning. The middle needs opening [thank you for that info]. Can I take cuttings from the branches I prune out, if yes, how do I do that please.

    Hi there, I know its February but my gooseberry plants looks nothing like yours. They're at least 6 years old as they were already established when I took over the allotment. I followed your advise last year, and cut out the old wood as you advised it was easy to recognise, as you said, its much darker. This year there are lots of new stems long , pale with no lateral side shoots, could they be suckers? The plant is planted quite deep as you would plant a blackberry, should I wait until spring to see if the long stems develope lateral branches?

    Thanks for the tips. I guess i did do it right this year then. My gooseberry bushes and currents are 3 years old now! I try and take my cuttings and root them in another bed then pot them up and give them away or transplant them
