Sorry, I am currently concentrating on the MEGA65 core and utilities. This also affected my time for producing videos at all. I will probably restart this series with the updated M2M later this year.
A very good question. I myself don't use windows at all, so I am lacking a good answer to this. I suspect using WSL could be a solution. I will check back with the rest of the team, if anybody has experience with this. And make sure to do everything from within WSL (even the cloning of the repos).

do you know how to fix this error when using windows?

error: unsupported OS type: msys

Sorry for the delay... the wiki does list in it's prerequisite section that using WSL on Windows is recommended.
