I love my kizashi. In the shop as it needs alot of repairs and its expensive to do as they are discontinued and there are not parts and need to be custom made. They did not sell well so its hard to find scrap parts.
@@WiltedRaven2 Yeah that makes sense re: pets being hard to find, it’s too bad they didn’t sell more of those cars; seemed like they were great “bang for buck” vehicles
@@WiltedRaven2 How has your Kizashi been holding up? How many miles does it have now? We've heard mixed messages about it. Some people have said it is very reliable while others have said the opposite.
That Suzuki engine is bulletproof. There are examples here in Switzerland with 360.000km still runing strong. 6 speed manual is a great car and consumption is pretty decent for 2.4 natural aspirated engine. I had on average 7.1 liters in summer and 7.8 in Winter. And the Kizashi safety crash rating was way better then some BMW or Mercedes from 2011-2015.
@@rkt81 That CVT tranny can be kept alive longer then usuall. The problem is that there are no many which can service them as they have a long life oil in it. If you don't rev it high and change oil it can last long. Manual has not been sold in North America and is a quite reliable and makes fun while driving.
Back in my school days ... I was mesmerised by the way this Suzuki looked and when I drove it for real .. this was way ahead than overrated Honda civic.... The exhaust note is so unique, it's very nimble but was so good to be true ....

I really like Suzuki's car & SUV line but parts for low volume cars like the liana, kizashi are expensive kinda like Hyundai Azera, xg350, genesis, Kia Amanti, cadenza etc. With the VW product you get more affordable parts but lower reliability.
Yeah that makes sense for sure. Some of the higher production cars can be very reliable at times as well, like the engine in this Jetta, that 2.5 is a fantastic option. Has good power and they last a really long time

Was thinking about going to a Suzuki Swift Sport for my next car but since these Kizashi's go for the same price it seems to be the better option to go for. More luxury, a bit more room and practical and very unqiue. I usually dont like sedans but for some reason I really like the Kizashi.
Nice, yeah the Kizashi does seem to offer a lot of “bang for buck” in terms of options. Seems to be a great car overall. Even despite having many more kilometres than the Jetta, it still won the race too.
Idk but i used to absolutely fucking hate the kizashi its been in my family for like 5 or 6 years and i have despised it until now that im starting to use it and its kinda growing on me cuz its kinda short ,a bit stocky, and rounded kinda like mechagodzilla 2 which i also used to hate but now has also grown on me
@@nuclear_angelx1111 Ever try launching on a damp surface with worn tires? All you get is wheel spin which significantly slows the car down. We launched that car several times off camera to get the best possible time and every launch where we even went near the throttle too hard, the tires drastically spun, significantly slowing the 1/4 mile time. Nothing at all wrong with the shifting, it was quick and precise and right at redline. Suzuki Kizashi is so under rated. Its fast and good looking.
Agreed! The one in the video had close to 300,000kms too, and still made good power.

400k+ in my 2011 kizashi awd in Canada. On my second tranny but still solidly doing its job

It really is a great vehicle, very under rated!

Love the Kizashi. Thanks for that fun video!

Lots more racing content to come as well so feel free to stay tuned :)
When the kizashi was in production Suzuki was in talks with VW to be acquired, I think VW owned 35% of Suzuki.
Wow cool info to know! Had no idea!
it was close to 20% which later Suzuki bought back

Be careful about doing too much free revving, especially after just starting the engines.

Find it funny how they pronounce VW.... I really got used to Folksvagen
Haha makes total sense! In reality, the way you pronounce it is proper. But in North America we always pronounce the “V” that’s funny
