As a drummer i loved the intro groove. Thanks for throwing us a bone Rhett. LOVE the whole vibe of Cindy, Rick, and the entire shop. Thanks for this man.
one of the best documentaries i’ve ever seen. SO well done. You can tell how good it was by the overjoyed reaction i had to seeing they are still at it as of this video at least. i just discovered the doc and his popped up.
The second she touched the burner to the desk and smoke came up, I could SMELL it. I haven't used my woodburners in decades, I should definitely start again. Super cool video.
Cindy and Rick are the best. I’ve got one of their Bowery Pine T style guitars with a wood burned pickguard by Cindy. It’s an incredible instrument. Congratulation!
Hello Rhett! My name is Oleksiy, I am a musician and art teacher, and I am from Ukraine. I am your longtime subscriber, your TH-cam channel has always been a great source of inspiration in music practice for me. For more than a month, a terrible war has been going on in our Ukraine. Millions of people were forced to leave their homes. My family is no exception. My wife and daughter are now in Poland - I miss them very much. According to the law, men from 18 to 60 are not allowed to leave the country during wartime. Kind people of Europe help Ukrainians, we are very grateful to them. Currently I am in Lviv - a city in the west of the Ukraine. It's relatively safe here. Praise the Lord, I have friends in Lviv and I manage to be of some support to the people of our Ukraine. With friends, we visit refugee centers with music programs, play live on musical instruments and sing songs, conduct meditation programs to relieve stress. We talk and support the Ukrainians who have left their homes, we distribute food and sweets to them. We are also looking for funding to prepare food for refugees and energy bars for our army. Thank you very much for your support! After all, even words spoken to help Ukraine can be of great benefit.
This video was awesome but needed to be at least another hour in length!! 😂🤣 Amazing shop, definitely need to visit if I ever go to New York! Keep these videos coming Rhett!!
Love her work and your guitar is going to be quite a special piece when you are finished with it. I hope we get to see a video of the rest of the build. Love your show.
I Love Her! She’s so Great!! Great person. Great Artist. I need to know who her hair stylist is, too. LOL. Fantastic. He’s a great person, too. The two of them. I can’t believe the detail she can master with just one tip. Priceless! Work that uke! ☺️ And, man. What a great shop! I’m a New Yorker, unfortunately not living there anymore. Maybe; Hopefully, someday I will be back home. I have to tour their shop. Just blown away. I could never dream up a place; an experience like that. Thanks so much for this video, Rhett. You are always knocking it out of the park! 🎶🎶🧡🧡💛💛🌻🌈🌅🎶🎶🌷
Pass by Carmine Street Guitars just about everyday. Thrilled I can now go in. You can't get more NYC than by taking discarded pieces of it and reassembling it into something beautiful.
yes! i remember the video of the visit to carmine street guitars pre-pandemic - nice to go back there (virtually) and see Cindy and Rick again, thanks!
Great choice going with a MJS Custom pickup. They make amazing sounding pickups and are also the nicest people ever! Can't wait to hear what it sounds like.
I have not thought of wood burning in several years but it is something I did as a kid as well, back when I first learned how to solder things. Never would've thought about this application, but it's perfect for having an identifier on your guitar.
I remember your original video of this shop, I thought their whole building guitars with reclaimed wood was really cool. Would loved to have seen more of their guitars. Cindy has some amazing wood burned art on her site as well.
The fact she mention's Darwin and Yomico makes me smile and feel proud of those two fellow Venezuelans, making a stride in the tattoo world, I'm lucky to have a Yomico tattoo because right now paying an appointment with him or Darwin is way out of my budget
Rhett you lucky dog... I miss NYC so much. I lived there for 20 years. If I was still there I'd get Cindy to do one of my instruments in a New York minute.
I was back home in NY this week and stopped into Carmine St. Rick had an amazing instrument for sale from his Bowery Pine series. Bought it on the spot. Honored to own one of his amazing pieces and can’t wait till it gets here to CA!
Ok, I thought this was a cool video, then I saw the pickups and I was SUCKED IN! I'm not the biggest NYC fan (being from Boston) but seeing all of the 150+ year old traced wood and parts being reused is probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen in a guitar store video. Thanks for going back and following up on this cool team!
I have a set of Strat Pup’s, from MJ’s,they were custom to my specs, and they are AWESOME! Smitty the owner is a blast to work with, he takes the time to personally call you and double check that he understands what you are requesting. So happy Cindy and Rick work with them 👍🏽
Man! Cindy is a crazy good artist. The wood burning looks amazing and it will look so cool when finished I'm thinkin'. VERY cool Lady, in so many ways! Thanks for sharing Rhett.
I'm so glad to hear they're re-opening! I've been dreaming about getting them to make me one of those pine-bodied Teles for years, this summer when i'm in NYC my first stop, even before the hotel is gonna be Carmine St. :)
I just watched the Documentary on Carmine St. Guitars. Then this video popped up in my suggestion box. I thought wow, I wonder if he went to Cindy for something. Pretty cool. Your Tele looks great. I loved her Traveling Wilberry guitar.
Loved the documentary on this shop, so was very happy to see this. Looking forward to seeing what you do with that partscaster now. Thanks for the vid.
@@thisperfectworld Yeah, it's called Carmine Street Guitars. Came out in 2018. It's on IMDB if you want the details on it. And you can rent it from a number of places. Can't remember if it's on Netflix or not. Believe it's on Prime. Regardless, it's a fantastic documentary. I highly recommend it.
Awesome, such a cool shop, hopping to get to NY at the end of the year, I’d love one of those pickups with the nail heads for a project I’ve got going on. Great video, a pleasure to watch 😊
I love modern tech, but I truly, truly hope that real hand-drawn art like this is never totally replaced with laser etching, etc. This is special, and when you see art like this, it is truly one-of-a-kind unique, and you don't get that from mass production!!!
The art from Cindy is truly amazing. An expression of unique artistic style. Hope you grabbed a slice at Joe’s while you were on Carmine Street! Some of the best pizza in NYC.
That's an awesome shop!! About 8 years ago I bought 8 1 piece Ohio Pine blanks that I cut Tele bodies from. I saved them to do carving with a small router and carving tools when I get a chance. The pickups are an awesome idea!! I'd love to spend my days in a shop like that!! Loads of mojo!! 8) --gary
As a drummer i loved the intro groove. Thanks for throwing us a bone Rhett.
LOVE the whole vibe of Cindy, Rick, and the entire shop. Thanks for this man.
YES, as an amateur guitar player, that intro groove was sick! Is Chad playing?
That is class. The original NYC guitar store video kept me sane during lockdown in 2020, so I'm glad to see Rick and Cindy back on the channel!
Where can I see that doc.?
one of the best documentaries i’ve ever seen. SO well done. You can tell how good it was by the overjoyed reaction i had to seeing they are still at it as of this video at least. i just discovered the doc and his popped up.

I'm beyond stoked to hear Rhett play this new machine he's building... those pickups are wild!
Cindy is awesome! Such a video of Rick and her!
and she's such a good photographer too !
I love her work, someday I will get one
Rick Kelly is a treasure. Lucky to have known him for 20 years. Thanks for doin’ this dude , means a lot.
Cindy and Rick are the best. I’ve got one of their Bowery Pine T style guitars with a wood burned pickguard by Cindy. It’s an incredible instrument.
Congratulation!
I've a wooden pick guard on an old Washburn some one painted up nicely. You think I could send it to them ?
And is it terribly expensive ? Thanks
Dude, I'm so happy for you! Cindy does amazing work! I can't wait for the finished build... Please, keep us posted.

Glad to see MJS mentioned in the video! Just ordered a custom set of pups from them and they're fantastic. 10/10, would recommend!

I've been following Cindy's guitar making for a couple years now. Love the designs and results of her work.

Cool shop and awesome people.
Very cool video from a great shop. Love the funkiness of the shop.
Even though it was 15 seconds of the video I'm somehow more excited about you getting a Fuzz War. It is seriously my favorite pedal I've ever played.
I remember watching a video on Cindy and this shop awhile back. She is incredibly talented. This shop is on my list of must go to places.
Cindy is an amazing artist and love seeing her and Rick work on these fine and unique instruments. Awesome.
I knew it was Cindy as soon as I saw the thumbnail. You are really lucky to own a piece from her. Rick's shop is absolutey one of the icons in NYC.

There's something really special about getting something hand crafted like that, it just seems to be getting rarer. What a great little place.
I’m loving the laughter in the the guitar shop! ✌️🤪🎸🎶🎵🎶

Reminds me of the Village from my youth. So many great shops and artisans and places unchanged and still gritty like old New York.
New York is dead.
The art from Cindy is truly amazing. An expression of unique artistic style. Hope you grabbed a slice at Joe’s while you were on Carmine Street! Some of the best pizza in NYC.
An Alladin's cave for guitarists! When i lived in NYC I wasn't in to guitars but next time I'm there I'll go there for sure!!!
