So happy he decided to upload these reviews, I know these kind of topics are typically saved for streams only and your channel is more of an informative type of channel but sometimes people can’t make time for the streams and miss content like this without knowing, I personally think you should upload more of these kinds of videos because it’s good content to put on in the background/people want to hear your opinion on servants/events
That's actually what I plan on doing moving forward. I realized a big issue with the channel is the lack of free time I have and the delays for bringing content in front of you guys while its RELEVANT. A lot of the issue is pre-conceived notions of units that have persisted in the community for years. You'll hear me discuss these throughout the video in other spots as well. I typically try to check the popular opinion against the reality of performance.

I kinda have my targets for the year already but so far this has been a nice refresher on some of the servants I was sorta considering rolling for. So many buffs in JP really fly past my head so being reminded of who will be stronger soon really helps. I hope I can hold out till summer for Kama and Caenis.
I passed Muramasa to top off my NP3 Spishtar and did so for very few SQ so I won't miss him. She absolutely cruised through SWII including the Rounds CQ. Also last year was exceptionally good during the Summer event banners ending up with NP4 Summer Kiara, Summer Abigail, Summer Murasaki, NP3 Illya and NP5 Fujino. Absolutely struck out on Summer Tomoe on my main but did NP2 her on my alt account so I REALLY loved those banners.

If I remember correctly, Melusine gets a banner at the end of the year right before Tunguska for the Main Quest Clear Aid Campaign, so would you recommend skipping Melusine initially to focus on Koyanskaya and Oberon and try for her then? Edit: ah gotcha, you addressed it slightly later in the video.
Thanks for uploading this series. I usually do this myself by going through the year's event schedule and just pick my favorites. With this series, I can hear about someone's comments and insights on characters that I normally don't care about or care but have some doubts about, like that part about Melusine. Initially I didn't care about her since I have strong Lancers like Ereshkigal, Summer Melt, and Fionn but then I found out about her kit. It really makes her stupidly strong so she becomes a must roll but I can't since she's before Koyanskaya and Oberon, whom I prefer to roll for. But that doesn't mean I won't get her in the future if she gets another banner.
2:44:00 I remember seeing tamamo vitch on promotional material back in 2017. We got her as konyanskya. Also we found that Sakura Tange got contracted to do another servant in 2020, who turned out to be Draco. They are easily 2-3 years planned out
Not sure if you mentioned it when talking about Melusine, but I think they made her first and second skill so overturned, is because if you want to use her as a single target arts Lancer, then she’ll only have 2 skills. They wanted to make her first 2 skills so busted to compensate for her sometimes only being able to use 2/3 skills
This will be fun to watch fully. But did enjoy jumping around to my most anticipated servants. Oh no, Melusine rant coming. Abandon ship! Edit: Yeah, will definitely come back to this later since I’m sure there are a lot of good insights. But yeah that kind of rant/negative slant was not a good one to start with. The Percival part was nice though. That segment was definitely weird. The video overall seemed really level-headed and informative. Just a bit of a downer that one of the characters I was curious to hear about ended up a bit weird in tone. But I'd say 95% of the video was really good still.
I have no hatred for the character, its negativity directed at the devs for how overkill they made her. The big reason I talk about it isn't to dump on her (she's literally the best lancer atm imo), it's more to show that the devs mistakes with powercreep are what has caused the lopsided situations in some classes and forced them to into a bad situation with 90++ content.
@@Khadroth Definitely will say that the video is a great resource for people. Even poking around a bit more shows that. May have taken a slightly soured initial feeling from it. But I respect the time put in and hope it gets plenty of views.
Look at this way, the GSSR is a crapshoot and you might not get her. If you roll before that point and do get her, then you can just target something else with your GSSR!
@@Khadroth Yeah, that's why it's a crapshoot. Ignoring the banner, she had a pretty good 20% chance and I'd be happy with any other drop (and saving sq for Koyan/Oberon would be helpful), but if I get Castoria before anniversary, it spoils overall pretty good banner for me =(
31:04 if the skill drains a lesser amount of np from one of the allied servants then she is getting less np charge. I think that's what they are trying to say. If one ally has only 8% np gauge and the other has 6% then she is getting 14% instead of the full 20%.
@@Khadroth Yeah, I can see what you mean. The way they phrase it makes it seem like the charging comes first and then the draining, which would mean that you always get 10% and they get drained by whatever they have left instead of the other way around. They could have been more clear with that for sure.
The funny thing is Melusine can also Buster loop using a weird setup with : Melusine (with MLB Prisma Cosmos) + Waver(or Reines) + Waver (or Reines) + plugsuit any 50% charger
I think I personally would rather enable a new farming system than enhance the ones I already have. Which is why I'll roll Koyanskaya and not Oberon, I also don't have Merlin yet so this'll be my first time having a buster specific meta support. Plus I don't like Oberon's personality/behavior at all which'll make me not roll for him ever. Pretty informative and insightful video overall though, looking forward to part 2 .
And that's fine, I personally just felt the need to warn people both about the sharp increase in HP values in 90++ nodes as well as the fact that he doesn't come back for a year and a half. It was to the point that people on JP were screaming for him to return.
Still working through video, but point that is not brought up with Cu and Medb is that they are on the free SSR at anniversary if you don't have other power picks.

I don't normally watch FGO youtubers but was curious abt the upcoming banners in 2023 after taking a break and now back to the game.. and i'm glad you're objective about Space Ishtar. As someone who luckily has her at NP2, im doing great but I agree that she's not the master of all trades. While she allows to change NP card type, i feel like Arts is really her best card and if you were to use her for Quick or Buster, you would only be able to do this at higher NP levels and with an additional premium support servant I feel. I think she is an overpraised unit too. I think the community really overrates her. I still grailed her tho and still love her as a unit, but now we are getting more options, I don't think she's a must-have. I do alternate between her and Muramasa. But I'm excited to try out the other systems if I get lucky Anyway, thanks for this very informative vid! ^^ I think i'll save for castoria rerun since i didnt get her last time (thankfully i have Reines and still able to 3T with a single castoria) and buster system
1:03:09 I'd object to this description, because there's one specific case where the class banner is not just good, but insane: limited/story-locked 3-stars. The usual 3-star rate-up is 4%. In contrast, Bedi's rate-up will be *10%* on the Saber class banner, more than double. The lowest it'll dip is to 4.44% for the 3-star Casters like Cas Cu. If you're interested in a specific or even multiple (and no future combos) 3-stars, there's no better banner than the class banner.
@devildown devildown A super whale? For the best rate-up in the game aside from certain GSSR banners? Probably not. Probably furthest from the truth, since it's one of if not the most SQ-friendly rate-up chance. And who? I dunno, people who like those characters and want more copies (and to benefit from the coin system like Khadroth mentions like 40 minutes later)? Bedivere still remains a popular character to this day, and Izo even moreso. Edit: Oops sorry, not Izo, he's not on it. But still, any of the others like Taiga would be easier to get. Hell, Salieri's is *40%*, which is insanely good.

39:44 tamamo is perfect for break bar bosses if you can pull of double castoria burn one of all the castoria’s skills, plug in crane, burn Crane(goldencatchingcarp Y1playersFTW), get tam turn 2 drain the NP, and add buffs. You can even Kscope her to amp up the cool down for sloggier bosses. Saved my ass on 3T np bosses with a self charge.
Lotsa useful information for me as a NA player here esp. the part about Altera being op on JP. Wow! I guess I should take her out of storage and upskill her?
Even without an NP interlude, Anastasia can hit really, really hard. Mine's NP3, to be fair, but as a Double Castoria looper, with a Super Black Grail, she's hitting wave 3 for over a million. (~340k per on 3 Assassins, so ~170k neutral, but that doesn't sound nearly as cool)
Corrupted Ushiwakamaru is a Berserker. Another Caren strat to always have a debuff is to put Angra Mainyu or another Avenger in the backline, since Avengers debuff the entire team just by being in the party. Li's NP interlude is already out. Vlad's stacking Guts came out in the Apocrypha rerun, which actually happened before Herc's rank-up in the 5th anniversary. Tristan's upgraded debuff removal lets him counter his own NP seal, which is nice. I'm definitely keeping X Alter, Tamamo, Xuanzang/Bedivere, and Kiara/Illya/Brynhild in mind, as well as the obvious LB6/Anniversary banners.
Baoban Sith IS a better servant than OG tristan. She’s such a powercreep that she even powercreeps him EMOTIONALLY. Where he’s constantly sad and she’s constantly happy and teasing.
Jekyl got a bad buff with that 80% np battery. You can think of it in two ways: he is useless as an assassin, so him being a zerk quicker is better. On the other hand, that means he loses on the crit skill which was activated when he was an assassin. It also has a 80% battery that is wasted after his np. Counterpoint, he has zerk starweight, which makes the third skill pointless anyway. But now getting stars is a lot easier than before. So you still can make use of the crit skill. So, what I'm saying is, giving a battery to a unit doesn't automatically make it better
I'd say it does. You miss out on the crit skill but get to the NP faster and can likely take a better CE as a result. TBH Jekyll is mostly an anomaly anyways. The devs really need to re-examine his whole kit and give him a makeover because it's just a waste of a cool character concept.
Concerning summer Abby I went in hard for Murasaki,and ended up with np4 Abby........and she continues to surprise me She's not the Uber massive servant,but she seems to have this talent of having random uses here and there with her sleep and buff stripping So people who end up with her,give her headpats often,and she may surprise you
Is it really melusine that is so op or that koyan + oberon is op? As for 3 turn loops there are other units that can do it just fine so whats the deal if you overkill enemies? I think for what is worth the supports are overtuned and that is bigger issue that units themselves also swapping servant in battle is a big factor this can even happen
Something about Sith S1. On the turn you use her S1 the invul is what takes the damage when she first gets hit the evade lingers to the other turns and while I do agree that splitting them between 2 skills is better it's not that much better to what's already there.
I hate that I don't have enough SQ to safely roll for Morgan, Koyanskaya, Oberon and Melusine. I wish the Pity summoning was at 600 SQ instead of what it is now, and that it does not go away.
Actually, if you have an invul and an evasion effect up, the game automatically consumes the invul effect first which doesn't make the one hit evade on Sith's S1 useless since it won't get consumed in the same turn you use said skill.
What's strong about morgan isn't necessarily the damage. It's the charge and adaptability. She works really well in challenge content because of her third skill and the overcharge on her NP.
Been saving all my quartz and tiquets since Castoria came out. I'm gonna go a bit crazy once Lostbelt 6 comes out since the math works out for a 95% chance to get at least 5 rate up servants. BTW, are male story locked servants available in Chaldea Boys banners? If that is the case I think I'll roll for Vlad in that banner instead of the Rank Up 13 banner. As a ~1.3 year old account user, I don't have story locked 3★ servants outside of the ones rewarded at the end of singularities. More NP levels for Bedivere and Cu Chulainn caster for Koyan or having a copy of Asclepius for his support would help my account, on top of having Vlad fill in my currently lacking ST needs for multiple classes.
Before starting the video ... my plan is to get np5 of Avenger Kama, 3 more copies of Castoria, and 4 more each of Berserker Vlad and Da Vinci Rider. Let's see how much changes ... Edit - Hokusai, right!
Now that I think about it, if you have a NP2 Melusince, 50% CE + 20% Append + 130% From Skills = 200% NP Overcharge. This is If you don't have a Black Grail which I do not have.

That's a tough one I've been asked since they came out. Personally while Melusine can be insanely strong in a lot of areas, I think if you're rolling on a budget and only getting 1 copy, I'd go after Morgan since she's more widely applicable as a berserker.
Dude I threw one ticket at the Spishtar banner, I saw a gold spin and I'm like "Oh shit a nice CE", and then out of nowhere it's fucking Spishtar. My gacha luck is usually pretty bad, 450+ SQ for any kind of SSR, but for all y'all that have bad gacha luck, esp my fellow F2Ps, don't lose hope XD ✊🏾
Is it still worth it to roll for Melusine when I've been blessed with a NP5 Space Ishtar? I will most likely have enough quartz for a NP2, NP3 Melusine - Now for Koyanskaya and Oberon, not too sure i'll have enough for them all. I'm thinking that a double Castoria + possible 3rd support on a NP5 Space Ishtar hits harder than Melusine? Not too sure tho.
When was vlad ever bad? He's only gotten better and better. Just by virtue of being the only real arts zerk for half the game led him to be my go to challenge quest and he hasn't let me down yet.
If a banner has story locked characters do you have to clear the story before rolling the banner (Barghest?) or can you still roll them on that specific banner?
You can roll any rate up banner that is available. Completing the story chapter to unlock a "story locked" unit, simply makes them available in the story banner. I know that's a little confusing so think of it like this: Story Banner is always available and includes all permanent units and any story locked units you've managed to unlock. It has no rateup or pity. Rate up banners only stick around for a set amount of time and only include the permanent characters and whoever the rate up units for that specific banner are, regardless of their type. Hope this helped.
I need Castoria for my np 2 Muramasa lol. I'll roll Morgan before her tho because I need depressed dommy mommy to step on me and call me her husband. Percivere can get it to- I mean ill roll for him because i've yet to get a 5 star lancer.
I have a question do we get to use SSR ticket again ? Like for fifth anniversary I chose a waver so for thod who've already used a SSR ticket could they use another of which we got for sixth anniversary???
The 20 million DL campaign ticket NA already got was a one time use. The one we're getting with 6 anniversary this year (I have a video coming for it) is a seperate one and is a permanent addition to the game. It's also one time use, but it doesn't expire and it will always be there for new players after that point.

I had Alot of fun Watching about the future banners and Servant's indepth explanations~ my choices have become a lot clearer of who I'd look out for the rest of 2023. Usually it'll be really rare for me to watch something entirely But it was really nice to watch and hear alongside me sketching and doodling servants and ideas which turned out quite fun and productive I would love to look forward to more of these guides/info type stuff in future I've been OBESSESED with fgo and been playing it for a year so am glad to find such dedicated and veterans talk about it
I think Miss Crane would have a huge jump in usefulness if her swap triggered at the end of the turn instead of immediately after NP. Possible rank up/interlude?
@@expendablea Because it'd allow her to come first in NP chain giving the following NP an overcharge, NP damage, attack, and guaranteeing that the swap occurs (if you put her NP second, it might not trigger if the first NP clear the wave, so farming becomes tricky).
@@flashmozzg But the swap doesn't trigger the buffs, it's the np activation itself which gives the buffs. Even if the swap occurs at the end of the turn, if she can't np because the turn is finished, it's useless anyway Hence why i said that it doesn't make any sense

Honestly, it’s whatever your team lacks. They both work well if you have the other strong supports(castoria, Oberon, etc). Morgan is both a really good aoe berserker and feature in the invincible comp(up to you if you want to do this), but she and Arjuna alter come back around early to mid next year. While Melusine comes only comes back at the end of next year in December. (Assuming you don’t roll on each of their multiple banners this year and ignore gssr). Also, I would honestly pick melusine since fewer units can do what she does ( mixed np + black grail farming) while Morgan can be substituted for other aoe berserkers and other ppl like himiko for invincible comp.

Not sure if you mentioned it when talking about Melusine, but I think they made her first and second skill so overturned, is because if you want to use her as a single target arts Lancer, then she’ll only have 2 skills. They wanted to make her first 2 skills so busted to compensate for her sometimes only being able to use 2/3 skills
Yeah I think a big chunk about why she's so rediculous is because they tried to merge two units into one.
This will be fun to watch fully. But did enjoy jumping around to my most anticipated servants.

That segment was definitely weird. The video overall seemed really level-headed and informative. Just a bit of a downer that one of the characters I was curious to hear about ended up a bit weird in tone. But I'd say 95% of the video was really good still.
I have no hatred for the character, its negativity directed at the devs for how overkill they made her. The big reason I talk about it isn't to dump on her (she's literally the best lancer atm imo), it's more to show that the devs mistakes with powercreep are what has caused the lopsided situations in some classes and forced them to into a bad situation with 90++ content.

Look at this way, the GSSR is a crapshoot and you might not get her. If you roll before that point and do get her, then you can just target something else with your GSSR!

31:04 if the skill drains a lesser amount of np from one of the allied servants then she is getting less np charge. I think that's what they are trying to say. If one ally has only 8% np gauge and the other has 6% then she is getting 14% instead of the full 20%.

The way they phrase it makes it seem like the charging comes first and then the draining, which would mean that you always get 10% and they get drained by whatever they have left instead of the other way around. They could have been more clear with that for sure.
The funny thing is Melusine can also Buster loop using a weird setup with : Melusine (with MLB Prisma Cosmos) + Waver(or Reines) + Waver (or Reines) + plugsuit any 50% charger
I think I personally would rather enable a new farming system than enhance the ones I already have. Which is why I'll roll Koyanskaya and not Oberon, I also don't have Merlin yet so this'll be my first time having a buster specific meta support. Plus I don't like Oberon's personality/behavior at all which'll make me not roll for him ever.

And that's fine, I personally just felt the need to warn people both about the sharp increase in HP values in 90++ nodes as well as the fact that he doesn't come back for a year and a half. It was to the point that people on JP were screaming for him to return.

I don't normally watch FGO youtubers but was curious abt the upcoming banners in 2023 after taking a break and now back to the game.. and i'm glad you're objective about Space Ishtar. As someone who luckily has her at NP2, im doing great but I agree that she's not the master of all trades. While she allows to change NP card type, i feel like Arts is really her best card and if you were to use her for Quick or Buster, you would only be able to do this at higher NP levels and with an additional premium support servant I feel. I think she is an overpraised unit too. I think the community really overrates her.
I still grailed her tho and still love her as a unit, but now we are getting more options, I don't think she's a must-have. I do alternate between her and Muramasa. But I'm excited to try out the other systems if I get lucky

I'd object to this description, because there's one specific case where the class banner is not just good, but insane: limited/story-locked 3-stars.
The usual 3-star rate-up is 4%. In contrast, Bedi's rate-up will be *10%* on the Saber class banner, more than double. The lowest it'll dip is to 4.44% for the 3-star Casters like Cas Cu.
If you're interested in a specific or even multiple (and no future combos) 3-stars, there's no better banner than the class banner.
And who wants that? You need to be a super whale or omega hypster to spend SQ for specific 3 stars

And who? I dunno, people who like those characters and want more copies (and to benefit from the coin system like Khadroth mentions like 40 minutes later)? Bedivere still remains a popular character to this day, and Izo even moreso.
Edit: Oops sorry, not Izo, he's not on it. But still, any of the others like Taiga would be easier to get. Hell, Salieri's is *40%*, which is insanely good.

39:44 tamamo is perfect for break bar bosses if you can pull of double castoria burn one of all the castoria’s skills, plug in crane, burn Crane(goldencatchingcarp Y1playersFTW), get tam turn 2 drain the NP, and add buffs. You can even Kscope her to amp up the cool down for sloggier bosses. Saved my ass on 3T np bosses with a self charge.

Jekyl got a bad buff with that 80% np battery. You can think of it in two ways: he is useless as an assassin, so him being a zerk quicker is better. On the other hand, that means he loses on the crit skill which was activated when he was an assassin. It also has a 80% battery that is wasted after his np. Counterpoint, he has zerk starweight, which makes the third skill pointless anyway. But now getting stars is a lot easier than before. So you still can make use of the crit skill. So, what I'm saying is, giving a battery to a unit doesn't automatically make it better
I'd say it does. You miss out on the crit skill but get to the NP faster and can likely take a better CE as a result. TBH Jekyll is mostly an anomaly anyways. The devs really need to re-examine his whole kit and give him a makeover because it's just a waste of a cool character concept.

Is it really melusine that is so op or that koyan + oberon is op? As for 3 turn loops there are other units that can do it just fine so whats the deal if you overkill enemies? I think for what is worth the supports are overtuned and that is bigger issue that units themselves also swapping servant in battle is a big factor this can even happen
it's a bit of both, they go well together
A 50% charge at level 1 on a servant variable of looping is strong.
Remove one to two clauses in any of her skills, and she's still viable.

On the turn you use her S1 the invul is what takes the damage when she first gets hit the evade lingers to the other turns and while I do agree that splitting them between 2 skills is better it's not that much better to what's already there.

Actually, if you have an invul and an evasion effect up, the game automatically consumes the invul effect first which doesn't make the one hit evade on Sith's S1 useless since it won't get consumed in the same turn you use said skill.

What's strong about morgan isn't necessarily the damage. It's the charge and adaptability. She works really well in challenge content because of her third skill and the overcharge on her NP.
Pair him with Castoria, and Muramasa is a beast.

Been saving all my quartz and tiquets since Castoria came out. I'm gonna go a bit crazy once Lostbelt 6 comes out since the math works out for a 95% chance to get at least 5 rate up servants.
BTW, are male story locked servants available in Chaldea Boys banners? If that is the case I think I'll roll for Vlad in that banner instead of the Rank Up 13 banner. As a ~1.3 year old account user, I don't have story locked 3★ servants outside of the ones rewarded at the end of singularities. More NP levels for Bedivere and Cu Chulainn caster for Koyan or having a copy of Asclepius for his support would help my account, on top of having Vlad fill in my currently lacking ST needs for multiple classes.

That's a tough one I've been asked since they came out. Personally while Melusine can be insanely strong in a lot of areas, I think if you're rolling on a budget and only getting 1 copy, I'd go after Morgan since she's more widely applicable as a berserker.

I will most likely have enough quartz for a NP2, NP3 Melusine - Now for Koyanskaya and Oberon, not too sure i'll have enough for them all. Just by virtue of being the only real arts zerk for half the game led him to be my go to challenge quest and he hasn't let me down yet.
If a banner has story locked characters do you have to clear the story before rolling the banner (Barghest?) or can you still roll them on that specific banner?
You can roll any rate up banner that is available. Completing the story chapter to unlock a "story locked" unit, simply makes them available in the story banner. I know that's a little confusing so think of it like this:
Story Banner is always available and includes all permanent units and any story locked units you've managed to unlock. It has no rateup or pity.
Rate up banners only stick around for a set amount of time and only include the permanent characters and whoever the rate up units for that specific banner are, regardless of their type.

I have a question do we get to use SSR ticket again ? Like for fifth anniversary I chose a waver so for thod who've already used a SSR ticket could they use another of which we got for sixth anniversary???
The 20 million DL campaign ticket NA already got was a one time use. The one we're getting with 6 anniversary this year (I have a video coming for it) is a seperate one and is a permanent addition to the game. It's also one time use, but it doesn't expire and it will always be there for new players after that point.

@@expendablea Because it'd allow her to come first in NP chain giving the following NP an overcharge, NP damage, attack, and guaranteeing that the swap occurs (if you put her NP second, it might not trigger if the first NP clear the wave, so farming becomes tricky).
@@flashmozzg But the swap doesn't trigger the buffs, it's the np activation itself which gives the buffs.
Even if the swap occurs at the end of the turn, if she can't np because the turn is finished, it's useless anyway

Between Morgan and Melusine, which you people would recommend?
Honestly, it’s whatever your team lacks. They both work well if you have the other strong supports(castoria, Oberon, etc). Morgan is both a really good aoe berserker and feature in the invincible comp(up to you if you want to do this), but she and Arjuna alter come back around early to mid next year. While Melusine comes only comes back at the end of next year in December. (Assuming you don’t roll on each of their multiple banners this year and ignore gssr). Also, I would honestly pick melusine since fewer units can do what she does ( mixed np + black grail farming) while Morgan can be substituted for other aoe berserkers and other ppl like himiko for invincible comp.

No its likely that you'll simply get 2 banners with both of them. Neither 4 star unit is likely to have a solo rateup.
