Enough already!! Cut it out, will you? There's no such a thing as "emotional intelligence" or "almond milk" or "white chocolate" or "trade deficit"...
We no longer know what universities are teaching.
We got people all over the place calling themselves "scholars" or "experts" who publish and write in academic journals and sit in scholarly or academic seats; they give speeches, they head departments… And you know that what they’re saying is COMPLETELY FALSE.
THE TRIUNE BRAIN THEORY AND NEUROLOGY COMPLETELY DEMOLISHES THE CONCEPT "EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE"...

Emotional inteligence should be taught in schools. Starting to learn these sort of things in adulthood or in your professional career through "soft skills" workshop is NOT enough. We should all know how to deal with our own emotions and how to respectfully communicate with others. It's a skill to be learned and our children need to learn it now.

    • @jeremyjery01
      @jeremyjery01 ปีที่แล้ว +7

There is evidence to suggest that excessive use of social media may have negative effects on emotional intelligence. Social media can lead to increased feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and depression, and can also contribute to a reduced ability to empathize with others.
One reason for this may be that social media platforms encourage users to present a curated version of themselves, leading to a lack of authenticity and empathy in interactions. Additionally, social media can create a sense of FOMO (fear of missing out) and social comparison, leading to feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem.
However, it's important to note that social media can also provide opportunities for connection, community-building, and learning, depending on how they are used. It's all about finding a healthy balance and being intentional with our social media use.

Interesting how society has rediscovered this concept. I would suggest this is a natural corrective reaction to the PC trend that tends to negate individual responsibility for what they do with their emotions and places it on everyone around them - the "I'm sad and its your fault, so fix me" attitude. Focus on emotional inteligence allows critique of individual reactions born of emotional impulse. Hopefully it will give acceptance to the notion of individual responsibility in pulling ones self out of a sense of victimhood, but without destroying the concept of justice needed for social order.

I think people like to believe they're more emotionally intelligent. I think they're more emotionally aware. Being aware is only part of the process. You have to be aware, be willing to take in as much information as you can in the time allotted in the specific situation. Knowledge is key. You're less likely to react emotionally out of sorts if you have knowledge and understanding of something. We fear less that which we are aware of and have some understanding of. The unknown is man's biggest fear.

emotional intelligence is difficult to put up with; we are always caught up decent, showing our bubble. Empathy is what we lack; we always assume the sky is falling discrimantly on us...we don't want to know what others go through

Sounds more like awareness than control. Intelligence is thought but what this video describes is maturity and mind control.

In a nutshell, EI is the ability to understand behaviours of others and controlling own emotions.

I agree we should be ble to measure EQ in different cultures. religion, cultural limitations like a gendere segregated societies surely will impact, for example, a person's ability to exercise great listening skills or empathy. Also, surely in autocratic societies or countries it would be compounded by authoritative leadership and even dictatorships?

Everyone can improve their lives, but we see that our society divides children on the basis of ability instead of helping them to move forward in life. And those children who for some reason are left behind in the field of life are treated as scrubby thing

Change ourselves within and we see the change without. Our physical body need proper diet, exercise and rest; so is our inner-self, the spirit soul (symptom of life) is in need of special nourishment and attention to bring about peace and harmony within and without. The supreme natural law of action and reaction, cause and effect. As Bob Dylan, the great poet, and nobel prize recipient 2016 sings - the answer is 'Blowing in the wind". " Every Grain of sand", It's A Hard Rain gonna fall", "Gonna change my way of thinking". "Do you hear what I hear? Do you know what I Know".....May we all learn to be more compassionate and less selfish beings to shape the world we want to see.

When something stands for something it means nothing. Prefrontal cortex. Meta-analysis. Goleman has never once conducted a research article in his life. He uses terms without really understanding their meaning. Science constantly disproves his claims about the magnitude of EI's importance, especially b/c he defines it so broadly it means virtually any good quality beyond cognitive ability. Of course it make sense to be 'well-adjusted' or 'use emotions wisely.'

I love all humans. And i always say good stuff. In school i never knew how to approach my classmates (not friends - a friend is for life). And they did not know how to approach me or did not want to
So even in 1995 i came second to class but was more into story books
