30 years ago the kimono shops and industries were on the verge of extinction. Kimono was too expensive and European brand and American casual fashion expanded. Little girls wore Kimono at the coming-of-age ceremony and university graduation ceremony. Thanks to the efforts of shops to make Kimono inexpensively and bubble economy, Kimono has been successfully revived. Kimono shops mainly transformed to the rental shops and second-hand shops developed. Now both ceremonies, even to the graduation of primary school are occupied with Kimono.
Great & interesting video. I'm always amazed by the creativity of the people.

Nice to keep tradition alive,,❤
Your kimono certainly catches the eyes !
Looking forward to getting a yukata to bring home ☺️
Wonder how expensive it is
I want everything! But I'd definitely try to buy items for the yukata and kimono that I already have ❤
A passion 4 fashion
Very interesting.
I wonder if Cathy bought anything at the Kimono Show.
As long as there is respect for the culture and it's people, all should be fine
Gonna pull a 建前 on this one, and just leave a 👍🏻/💬 for the algorithm. ( Re# )

How many people wear them casually and not at a ceremony?
I rented a very special one for my graduation ceremony in Japan, and also tried to wear my own in any festival.
