Good to know but honestly, it won't matter to me as I already have a few sets of Dumbo RC X6 w/ Gyro. Don't know why the ones from Rlaarlo (150m) have way shorter range than Dumbo X6 (400-500m)

I like the AMX-12. The looks. And it's a blast to drive. Parts take about 2 weeks or less to ship from China. But if you order multiples of what you need, its not a big deal to me.
I had to disagree on the battery.. 124008 has the lousiest proprietary battery. Although its a 3s but its motors and gearing has been catered for it meaning u can't use 2s anymore as it will be too slow. Plus its non battery strip tray makes it very difficult to use your own battery..
Comparsion is base on stock form. If we start mods discussion, there will be no ends. I've no issue using my own 3S lipo, but agree that the new chassis & battery tray from MJX is better
I guess im going to get the WL next. I currently have the rlaarlo 1/14 scale buggy, and it rocks. I'm not sure if it was the huge tires or the occasional grass driving, but the esc just died one day, the receiver no longer lit up, the motor didnt turn on but there was a flashing red light on the esc, multimemeter said it got low voltage who knows.

For a first timer in the car RC world..what would you advise? Rlaarlo seems the best overall but since I need to learn a lot and maybe get some new parts etc, what do you advise? I'm thinking the 124008 but the hard case for the batteries (planning on getting +2 regular lipo batteries to really have some fun) is a problem?
Still in one piece, I don't jump it anymore. Just minor crashes or roll over accidents. The only issue is as I said the shock-top-caps need protection or you risk of it breaking off. Adding stainless steel washers will eliminate this concern
Wltoys is junk. I have a few. Shoukd have learned after the first one. Then i purchases the rlaarlo am12. The difference is night and day! Rlaarlo for the WIN!!
The wltoys 124008 is a really nice car, have the Typhon 6s to but love the wltoys as much as the Typhon 👌

I went with the AMX-12 simply because I prefer it’s look. I put a sensored Hobbywing 3s esc and 3650 motor in it. It’s brutally fast and fun.
Nice. did you change the servo? quite a few of us have servo to centering issue from the Rlaarlo

Double check your battery if you are using stock charger. Replace with aftermarket electronics could be a good option

not 100%, but I remember the body won't fit. The rear wing will fit

You don't have to use the hard case stock battery for 124008, just need some padding and many 3rd party will fit

In the motor parts? Is there any over heating using a fan?? And the Control it is stable?

Equally the same. Wltoys has a bit better alloy on diffs and spider gears which carried over from 124007 line. Spur is the same cheap AL alloy.
