They must finally figured out all the quality issues. Seems pretty durable. Every time we take our Rlaarlo or Amoril buggies out we break one or both and we aren’t anywhere near as hard on em as you were in this video
Ya I didn’t have good luck with my wl toys 144s, and my first rlaarlo, the Kraton looking one seemed better but still broke a diff housing. Hopefully they’ve started using better plastic
I know I’m late to the party, but I also have this buggy with the same problem with the servo not re-centering. The problem with that believe it or not is actually the steering linkage that is sandwiched between the second floor and the steering assembly .If you’re looking at the front of the buggy, it’s that piece right below the front body clip mine is carbon fiber, cause I got the carbon, fiber edition, but I think on that one if you have the metal edition, it’s a metal piece. If you look carefully, it’s rubbing against the second floor plastic when the wheels turn. I had to take mine out only two screws, and actually sand the carbon fiber piece and put it back in. It was a very easy fix don’t ask me how I noticed it, but I also thought it was a week servo, or a twitchy servo or something else going wrong. Just thought I would share that with everybody. 17:07

Did you forget to put on the bumper or feel like it would get in the way of jumping? Maybe it would have prevented some damage? Love your channel!
Mainly thought it would be ugly lol. Probably would have hindered jumping ability too. I do think it probably would have saved the chassis on that crash though.

I am super impressed got mines yesterday wow quality is great I did double check all nuts and tire nuts only 1 was a bit loose but man this is great for the money. Better built then arrma yup

I did that same thing to my tlr Typhons chassis and it was a pain in the @$$ to bend back to close to normal but finally got it straight so it wasnt crab walking anymore.
They look a lot closer to 1\16 than 1\14. Nevertheless, great rc and super fast fot the size. I am in the process of converting my 16890a pro into a small buggy (thinner 75mm grippy tires, lower body posts with trimmed shell, new esc and transmitter for 3s power and shocks mounted more horizontally to lower CG and leave it less tippy). So far happy with the results but after 50kmh any steering input is a crash almost certain LOL

Ya I don’t hear as much about WL anymore. They use sub par plastics I feel. These rlaarlos , even though on the same chassis design, are definitely better made 👍
Mine came set up really bad and the stock controller doesn’t work well at all. My stock WLToys 12049 “Purple Power” was awesome out the box. This thing is super slow on 2s but fun on 3s. Im noticing now I got the Rllarlo that came brushed but still the receiver is horrible but in time I’ll set it up correctly. I love these minis. My all time favorite mini is the GEN 1 Team associated Reflex 14b with Losi mini 8 wheels and the wheels that come on this buggy.

buggies can't withstand such jumps because the wheel suspension takes all the shocks, and the bottom plate bends in the nose shocks and after that the cardan shaft is bent

I had the purple One, broke lots of stuff pretty easily, reached out to Rlaarlo for suggestions and Radio Silent,.... And that was from a sponsored RC 😂😂😮😢... For my bashing it just not 3ven close held up. For just track use might be fun..... Pulled some sikkk bump front flips with it in review video. Still sitting broken on the shelf because shock caps stripped and didn't want to buy new shock for something else to just break.

My advice is to just start, and over time you’ll find inspiration from other channels (even channels outside RC) mixed with your own style. Take the bias out of it and put yourself in the viewers shoes and create what you would want to watch yourself. Hope that helps!

The chassis seems pretty much the same as my wltoys buggy i modified a few year back..i put a 3650 4600 kv with 65 amp esc..very fast car on 2s and mine drives very nice..i just checkout the wltoys newest version of the 12th scale buggy that has speed record 130 mph...i always wanted that slightly longer wheel base buggy...its 43 mph on 2s...i think 60 on 3s using a good battery..
Just got this buggy in my hands to combat all the Typhon GROMS and Reflex 14b of the world. I checked for reviews and watched yours 1st. Looks like i bought a good one! How has ot held up since this video was made?
Most don't know there are many models in the Rlaarlo / Croboll 1/14 scale series, and they all differ in one way or another.
I favor the CTR, I think they came the closest to hitting the mark( rang, durability, control, ability to take 3S batteries, etc) over all than the other models, so far, 2024.🤷
Brilliant review and test! That bumper may have prevented some of that extensive damage. Kind of fugly though!😝 I had this car and sold it to a guy I work with so I could by Rlaarlos AM-X12. I never even got a chance to review it. It looked amazing though. Rlaarlo’s on a roll and making some awesome rc’s , with some more new ones to come this year. This car your testing was when things started getting serious for them. My brushed version of this jumps awesome as well. I had to laugh about you back yard race track as I do the same thing. The heavier faster trucks will definitely chew some of that grass down. My 14 yr old still likes to drift his go kart in the grass , so that helps cut a trail too! 😆

Try a 2200 mah 11.1 volt with a 50c discharge rate. It is a whole different machine

I’m really not sure I haven’t done that to this. It’s already insanely fast and 3s capable 🤣 I guess I’d go with a Hobbywing 3652 with high kv and a minimum 60 amp esc!
The receiver is crooked, I think there is a gyro in the receiver, it should be positioned straight with the center brace

my body hit the pavement at 30 mph 23 years ago, I now can barely walk due to no cushion in my hip or knee. Take care of your body. Why don't you move the jump into the yard, and land in grass. Maybe less damage.

I have this truggie too. Oddly the power button on mine is located in front of the engine in its right side. Not in center. I like it a lot. I wish they had included installed lights on it, but maybe I can add some?! great video. Peace.

I think the issues with these smaller buggies or maybe any size buggies is too many jumps rolls crashes is when things break too fast i like that ramp u have but i wouldn't go too high most guys buy these and yes bash the fk outta of em but remember they are fragile i mean u get what u pay for too. I bought one of these yesterday xmas gift for me 😅 i own 2 other rc cars and i think this is the best one out of all the Amazon brushless buggies very good power on 2s wow its almost like a arma typhon which i own and the dam gears are already stripped (cheap horizon hobby to blame will never buy again ) own the typhon for 5 month's bye

Why didn't you install the front bumper & why not choose a straight road to test the speed test I know it's easier from your house but to get accurate results you need straight road
The bumper was ugly and would impede jumping ability. My street works well for most speed tests. This one was a bit too fast for it though I agree. Still think it was accurate though.

you got the 14 scale buggy, you might have the 12 scale one too just not wltoys brand :D
so yeah the new 124008 does fix the taco chassis thing by being plastic. has a beefy metal bumper that i'm not sure about tho. i've whacked a few things but not broken the chassis where the bumper meets yet
any gps system takes a while to find enough satellites, usually about a minute. they removed this feature on the newer versions tho, and they downgeared and downsized the motor a bit in the latest one (plastic setup is a lot lighter)

Is that the one without a base? I didn’t technically review it, but I’ve used it on two different projects now and liked it! I did have an issue with one of the receivers quitting on me (concrete landings lol). It comes with a few different receivers.

Many of the same parts, but seems to be better quality material.
No matter what brand u have arma hyper go riaaro traxxas the wheel nuts from factory sonetimes arent fully tighten i had to always double check my typhon and others as well always tighten every nut b4 first run lol

Can you put that brushless motor with the esc in the 1/14 rlaarlo truck to make it go faster ?
It would fit in sure, but not sure it would perform well as I believe the truck is geared different and also has larger tires.
Could a fan be placed in front of the motor??
What's the highest voltage 3s I can use without frying the components of the car??
The voltage will be the same. A 3s battery is standard to have 11.1 volts
Ended up getting this over here in CA and first drive was after a rain so I did some mud and grass runs at the park. The grass is a bit long now but this little buggy smashed through it all and the mud. that was the most rainy day fun in a while.
I put the front bumper which keeps the front down and I think would have prevented your bent chassis. I went with the metal version and its like a tank.
Glad you had fun!! Yes I think that bumper would have helped for sure, but it probably would have hindered it’s jumping and flipping abilities too.

If not available or you want bigger, this battery fits but it is taller and you have to flex that upper plastic brace a bit. Not too bad though.amzn.to/3PEL7Cb

Vendetta u really have to becareful where u drive it needs like smooth pavement and also the dam shell touches the wheels and need to shave off some plastic. It's a silly flaw horizon has to be better then that

I don’t use AliExpress but price to speed, it’s gonna be one of the best. MJX is another good choice.

The hyper go cars use a better platform in my opinion, but I was surprised at what this one took still, even with the tweakage

Well depends on your budget. Personally I think 1/18 is too small, but a lot of people like them. I have a video from a few months back that is the best RC cars under $150. One of them is around $70-80, but the rest are $100+. That’s a great starting point to see what you or he may be interested in.
Thanks for the reply I have a coworker who has a redcat racing 1/10 scale rock crawler that he said he would let go for $50 and it looks almost new said he had bought it about a year before he got his Traxxas and now it collects dust I'll probably pick it up but I'd like a basher something fast and fun that's either easily upgradeable or a good platform to build off of probably less than $300 if you have time for another suggestion or any advice is welcome as well, thanks for the reply! Love the channel BTW I have watched so many top 5s or 10s of rc cars it was kind of overload but now I kind know what direction I'd like to go with the as far as rc's go I want to be able to go fast and jump them lol

Then the 16208, which is similar to the 16207, but different shocks and body, the bezgar version of the 16208 which is exactly the same.
Also the 14301 drift car, 14209 and the 14210 on the way lol.

I've been subbed for ages & truly do enjoy your channel, so please don't think I'm being a dick for saying this, it's not just you, most RC TH-camrs do it..
When talking about the size of a brushless motor they'll say something like "It's a 3600Kv motor so it'll be quick"...
But that's like describing your car's engine by saying... "I'ts got a 6,000 rpm engine" when obviously you'd say something like "it's got a 3.5 litre that revs to 6,000"
The physical size of an RC motor combined with its Kv rating is the important part, you could have two motors, each 3600Kv.. One is a 3660 & the other a 2840... Obviously the 3660 will be the more powerful one.! (more torque/handle higher gearing)
(for people who don't know, these numbers relate to the physical size of the motor in millimeters, so a 3660 is 36mm diameter & 60mm in length)
I hope you get where I'm coming from & aren't offended..
This small RC has a 2847, 3200Kv motor, that's quite an impressive motor size for this type or RC.!!..
It's a shame to not point it out..

When comparing to the Hosim, I actually meant the physical size, as it also has a 2847. The Hosim is a bit higher on the kvs.

Hard for a bike hps to keep up with a rc doing double if not triple the speed of a bike. I got a Hotrc remote to see of they can keep up with my wltoys 124017 buggy, may be a nitro only remote

@@DerbyCityRC yea, the faster the rc, the higher priced gps you gonna need. Or a good flat place without trees, seen a bike gps go nuts in big cities and heavy tree planted places.

I am very impressed that didn't bend any of the axles , WHAT ? HOW ? And these axles are made from this shiny quality cheap metal that all these cheap rc cars have. Man the wltoys 144001 bend all the axles from the first roll overs and in less than these speeds here in the video. Also i would say that the only problem from this buggy is the steering problem that needs constantly adjusting. Any other bends are very normal, because let's be honest, it was very hard crash and in this speed you can't say something bad. Also seems that behaves very pro compare to the 144001 wltoys and in this size in general. I like it a lot and for the speed that catch behaves perfect. Seems that the cheap rc cars are very good suddenly. What's going on suddenly ? Who knows, the point is that this model worth except from the steering (problem) that maybe is fixable. Man i am impressed only from the video and i want to buy it.
I know!! My WL toys 144010 was bending and dropping axles on its first run. Stripped out plastic threads in the knuckles. This one is great. Croboll already told me that they sent the information about the problem with the steering I had to manufacturing to look into. Ya I definitely don’t think anything bad about that chassis bending. That was a tough crash and was still able to hit atleast 50mph. One of the most accurate box speed claims I’ve had yet on a budget RC. This one is all around better than the WL!
