Nice driving man, just finished a 1.5h/38 lap race in Spa 2 hours ago. GT3 on simulator Asetto Corsa driving the Mecredes AMG gt3. Nice driving and a couple of laps here. Would be amazing to drive this for a job, but obviously in a simulator there's no danger, however it would still be great in real life.
That's more due to the gear ratio than anything else, it just so happened he could, but also meant he was in the power band when he started down the kemmel straight.
Greetings. New to the channel and you, sir. I was glued to this. Had to tear myself away. Got things to do. But I look forward to browsing your content. Gotta channel, myself, if you wanna take a look. Good video. I will come back to this often....lol
There isn't stability control necessarily. The cars do have adjustable traction control settings from 0, being off, to 7 which is heavily intrusive for down pouring rain as an example.
Thanks! I was trying to set realistic driving aids in my sim assetto corsa. I can set ABS, traction control and stability control independently. I guess I will have to turn stability control completely off then.
Dream List if you put the aids on factory it should be the way it is on the real car. in this case you would have tc and abs but no stability control for example
You've done both simulations and the real thing, and I'm sure you know them both quite well by now. How does the simulation compare to the real thing? Honestly
aojohn2 Simulators are getting closer and closer to the real thing. They are great for learning new tracks, developing certain driving techniques, etc. but they of course don't give you the real feel and strain on your body. You don't get a scared factor or feel the adjustments that have been made in the car. You also don't learn how to take care of a car as far as brakes, tire wear, or fuel consumption which are very important when racing in the real world. They are a great help but nothing compares to real seat time.
Nick McMillen first, thanks for responding, and thats kind of what i was thinking. I noticed that times set on gt6 can be 2 or 3 seconds faster than in real life, and i was thinking it might because of exactly what you said taking care of the car, personal caution etc. Thanks and good luck to you man
+Nick McMillen Hey Nick! I know this will sound silly, but I'm doing some practice with this car on Assetto Corsa, and it just feels very tricky to control. Has a lot of understeer on entry and is very hard to put the power down on exit without spinning the wheels. Could you give me some hints and tips on how to drive and set it up?
+aojohn2 GT6 is not a simulation im afraid, its more of a arcade game, and simulations will always be off due to the sheer amount of variables in the real world
The car automatically blips the throttle when you hit the paddle to downshift to rev match. It's hard to hear in the video because the downshifts are very loud and clunky (for lack of a better word) along with the transmission whine so it tunes out the auto blip sound.
DJWolves97. That's Not always true, Not every car with semiautomatic transmission blips the gas for itself, mostly the old ones or the one that don't have sportive goals
+Gui CS As you run over curbs and bumps you run into brake pad knock off or knock back. Meaning that the brake pads will move further away/back from the brake disc so when you hit the brakes you don't have as much brake pressure or initial bite which decreases your stopping power. By tapping the brake pedal just slightly, you reset the brake pads to be as close to the disc as possible so there is no delay or lack of braking power when you hit the brakes. Hope that helps!
+Nick McMillen That's old, but is wonderful to watch a pro racing driver answering comments and questions from their fans. Keep up the good work, and keep up with that behaviour. THANKS, and good driving!!!!
GT academy is a huge failure. If you watch the races gt academy drivers drive in, they always slow down their team mates. Specifically for example, Blancpain endurance series McMillen driving on rain, what a complete disaster. I am sorry Nick but being good in GT does not mean you are qualified to drive a real racing car. The only man I felt sorry for was Alex Bunchume he led the race for almost two hours in the toughest situation possible. But, once Nick put his hands on the wheel it all went down from there. Overall, RJN team has no chance of succeeding if they keep using GT academy drivers!!!!
You may have failed to notice I was the third driver in the car at Nurburgring. After the 4th hour I had one of the fastest laps of the race and was one of the fastest cars on track until I had a transmission failure due to an electrical issue that stopped me from being able to shift the car and left me stuck in gear. I had to pull into the pits twice to replace a fuse until replacing the compressor altogether. Thank you for the support though :)
GT Academy is a great way to join gt sports. How you would get into gt sports if you haven't won the gt academy? Please give me a tip. I have talent and I can go fast and push myself to the limit bjt I don't know how to enter the gt motorsport
GTLover 69 GT Academy is a good thing, and i like it. But i think it had NOTHING to do with real Driving a GT3 Car. I watched some Onboard Laps of the fastest Laptimes in GT Academy, and it had NOTHNIG to do with real driving. The Guys dirfted in every Corner, it was more a Driftlap than a real Racelap. I try to drive like in Reallife, but i have no Chance because im 10sek. slower in one Lap than this Drift Guys. If GT6 (GT Academy) would be a Drive-Simulator, than a Drift Guy could never be faster than a Clean driving Guy. Its all just Fake.
kallo182 Fake? LMAO explains why two of the drivers that won the 2015 Bathurst 12 Hour were GT Academy graduates.... Also explains why Jann Mardenborough is in GP3 and was also a GT Academy graduate.... Definitely fake for sure...
straight cut gears are so damn relaxing
great job btw
From PS3 to Spa...Awesome!
Amazing how racing games can prepare you for real life. GT Academy is amazing, I hope I will have an opportunity like this too.

I'm jealous of you, sir. Keep up the good work!! :)
Oh you accually hold the fifth at the raidillon. Thats a huge tip for me.

anyone know the lap times - i judged starting from 13:00 his lap times are around 2min24sec
This is practice bro
@@taurusdev7965 13:00 was when flying laps were attempted.
What a car OH MY GOOOODDD❤❤❤❤❤
Why is there a boom when he shifts
Why you shifting earlier in Bruxelles turn?
Do you have some kind of stability control (esp) on those cars ?

Dream List i do the same thing

Don't ever use SC in games. Always force realistic settings on cars if the game has such an option.
Is the gtr here using a 320mm wheel or 300mm? I couldnt tell because the camera is far
What were u'r lap times my fellow GT Academy Bro :D
Haha Im playing the assetto corsa on Xbox and the track is exacly same thing, so good, great qualy
Why does it have that beep?
Foot cam please.
Nice
air shifter?
Pneumatics I believe, so yes
Nice!
Hi Nick!
Move aside, Godzilla is coming 😁

48fps. That's a first
Why doesn't he blip the throttle when he downshifts?

You don't blip the throttle with paddles
DJWolves97. That's Not always true, Not every car with semiautomatic transmission blips the gas for itself, mostly the old ones or the one that don't have sportive goals
There's a solenoid connected to the paddles and it blips the throttle with every paddle click
What is the purpose of those little steps on brake right before a hard braking?
+Gui CS As you run over curbs and bumps you run into brake pad knock off or knock back. Nick McMillen Mr McMillen ignore any negative comments, such people can only dream of racing let alone driving cars of that calibre.
