A tunnel goes from one opening through a formation to another opening. That first area you explored was an Adit. the cross ties on the floor means it was a haulage Adit. The wooden rails later on meant it was a low budget enterprise that used metal straps in stead of traditional rails. The short drifts were chasing good looking formations. They were following that rust looking dirt and rock until it gave out. GOLD lies along with iron deposits. Many rusty areas look good for extraction. The dark areas could have been a mix of galena, silver or lead. The clay is shouting "Alluvial deposit", a good place to hunt. That plate is a muck plate as well as a blast plate. It is very thick for that too. Usually Thin sheets were used. In this mine very little dynamite would be necessary. Ore is found in one of two forms, Oxide or sulfide, each uses different extraction methods. (Old Miner) Nice Video!
"Gold rides an iron horse," One of the first things I learned from an old prospector. I work three claims in Colorado (alluvial) deposits. Enjoyed your comments
You never talk about what mineral they where mining. I been in mines in Mexico where you could see the gold and silver veins. It would be nice if you explained more.
It took me awhile to start doing it but wear a hard hat. It's not for things falling down which is Handy for that too but more for catching your head on them sharp rocks on the ceiling. 🤙
It would be interesting if you talked about the dimensions of the shafts while walking thru. Are you standing up straight or squatting down while walking?
Reminds me of the story my mom used to tell.about my greatgrand father climbing under the bar to collect the gold dust that fell between the cracks in the floor.when he was a boy.
I'm still watching at 6 min in and you're still walking and it's making me nervous. LOL I had to remind myself that you were OK because...you made the video. Great adventure.!!
You should have got you a sample of that clay just to pan it out and then you could probably find out what you were looking for... I worked in a mine and I would say that either silver or gold
Mr. desert trails, thank you for sharing. Do you ever get lost in those tunnels? You scare me sometimes when you go so far in them. I can never go inside of those tunnels, claustrophobic. Stay safe. Thank you for sharing and God Bless you and your family. 🥰👍👍👍👍👍(🌹🐞🦂🌵)
The last time I went into a cave to explore I wasn’t the only person who showed symptoms of histoplasmosis. Which is the infection of the lungs due to the humidity within the cave mixed with bats faeces. Although I’ve known people fixing up enclosed water tanks also were infected. So maybe is just the humidity that causes the infection?
Another suggestion. Go to the nearest local town or city and check with recorded mining/land claims, for precious metals etc. What is the age of this tunnel?
Have you seen Scott Nutall’s videos? His last few videos were about a mine in the Simpson mountains. If that’s close to you, it certainly looks interesting and dangerous.
Are you in Jacob City Utah???????? It Looks really familiar.

Wow! No video selfies! Seems like most of these videos are just an excuse for the maker to stand in front of everything interesting just to get their face in the shot. Amazing egos some narcissists have. Thanks for keeping it real. I always avoid the videos with a picture of the maker on the thumbnail.
This looks like an old mine…the shape of the overhead of the tunnel…funny I click to up load and you find a dynamite box!!!….then I scroll down comments and the “mine” comment is there tooo……if this is real old….minerals have to be unharvested because of archaic nature of equipment

So I watch a man who goes to old mines with a light on his helmet and goes down all the tunnels. I’m not sure why, but I absolutely love it.
Same mate!
Yeah and kinda boring too
@@WilliamCrippen-mj7mj No one is making you watch it. You must be super fun at parties.
No helmet...
Howz he remember how to get out ?
Paint your wagon is one of my favorite movies!
Best western ever.
Mine too 👍👍😎FROM ARIZONA
Clint sang well.

Nice trek but always best not to do remote activities especially tunnel exploration alone ✅
It's amazing how far in they went.
That's what she said
❤❤❤❤I'm amazed at how much the rock changes every 100 feet.
That’s gotta be the longest tunnel you’ve ever walked.
Thank you brother, that was EPIC 👍✌️
It would be interesting to know the history of this mine. When was it active and how long did they work there. What were they looking for?
Agree. Miners put in a lot of work, geology must of teased them along!

I watched till the end!

You remember your turns and make a mental map of the cave. And in case of emergency, he has a camera that shows which way he went.
To go inside that tunnels look crazy if there isn’t another person outside just in case
🤦♂️@@camedelic1365
another great explore!! Thank You!!

5:04 those rocks look like they could collapse and trap a person. What were they mining? I think they use to mine Uranium around there?
Do you carry a backup light source?
That's awesome I've been in some long ones that's pretty cool.. not mining The ones but some on the East Coast just caves under
Well along tunnel but very little waste rock surprised us all
Do you ever worry about coming across a den of coyotes? Or even a skunk lair?
Another suggestion. Go to the nearest local town or city and check with recorded mining/land claims, for precious metals etc. What is the age of this tunnel?
Cool decorations for Halloween
Reminds me of the old Intellivision video game, Dungeons and Dragons. Yes I'm old. And you will be too. If you're lucky enough to live that long!
With all the busted up wood everywhere and the way that rock was black, it looked like there was like a massive explosion?
What a workout!

I can't even imagine digging all that by hand. I wonder how old that is.
"The best things in life are dirty. The worst things in life are being content without a cent..." I remember those lyrics.
Should go in with a metal detector thanks for video 👍👍😎FROM ARIZONA
It’s hard for me to tolerate even 20 minutes in an MRI tube. I cannot imagine myself cheerfully crawling down a dark tunnel to god knows where.
Man if you was homeless you would go and squat and make it live in just the main entrance ,good video.
that booger was a long one....good video
Imagine if the light goes out, have to walk back in the dark.
Suggestion: Buy a metal detector, maybe they didn't have them when the mine was cut.
Are you not afraid of wild animals or something inside? Also, How tall is it the tunnel? Are you hunched over or something?
At one time it must have been paying good, to mine so much
You need to be very aware of your surroundings when walking in the desert.
Do you know what ore they were mining?
Seems like a lot of material was removed to make those tunnels. Where's the pile of material outside?
No deadly gas detection done? This was like watching a horror film.
Caves are safer than mine tunnels.
Were these miners following quartz seams and processing all the qurtz for gold or other minerals ?
Great place for snakes and critters
Hope someone knows where you are in case it caves in otherwise you’ll be part of of that old mine
Are you in Jacob City Utah????????

What were they digging for?
Paint your wagon and keep exploring.
Hi do you know what they mined for?
Looks like a placer gold deposit running along an old riverbed or creek bed.
Definitely not a overnight job some kid would have done. Not meaning though kids weren't involved to get it built.
air quality?

That's not a tunnel it's called a Drift
What do you think was mined here?
You have found soft rock…you should mine that…
What were they drifting along? It's not readily discernable to me.
Do you carry an inreach or plb with you?
how did you keep from getting lost ?
I want to know why he's doing it alone.
I want to know why he's calling an adit a "tunnel"!
Damn rookies.
Where is this?
Looks like Nevada
..be careful you don't get lost down there..😱💩🤔
Lost Dutchman mine?
The gold was in the clay.
Good location for a horror movie.
What if Big Foot sticks his head out?
what were looking for? Gold?
Don't fart, you'll get bad air!!!
I think Minecraft is based on this tunnel! Better mark your exit direction!
I wonder if coyotes ever den in those places...
Maybe worse than that.
H2S gas and others can be dangerous
What work blasting, digging mine shafts in search of the mother lode.
Hope you baught a (mine) gas meter and a helmet. This looks Dangerous.
Not a tunnel
That clay was put there, go back and get some and sell it to us in hopes it has gold in it lol we can all make some money.
Maybe he'll find bigfoot in one of the tunnels!
Not very smart doing this solo
Eu não gosto de assistir este vídeo porque não tem legenda em português dai eu não entendo nada do q vc fala 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Be careful trump supporters live inside that cave
You mean WINNERS! Trump/Vance 2024
See what you did now, you woke them up again. That was just unnecessary.
