They actually made a version of the B25 with a. 75 mm tank cannon in the nose that was loaded by the navigator and fired by the pilot. They have one at my local air museum, it also has 4 50 cals in the nose
Warthunder has something like that! I forgot what they call it. They don't call it a B-25 since it doesn't have the glass nose and it's classified as an attacker in a different tree from the B-25. There's one version with 12 50 cals in the nose, and then a variant with 8 50 cals and a 75mm.

I've been wanting to do it with some of the Japanese bombers, given me an idea lol.
Been running this for a couple years. three 1000lb bombs on a relatively fast and thicc is just too good at 3.7-4.0
My grandfather was the top gunner / flight engineer of a B-25J (in game, the naval B-25 with the .50 cal nose). He was in the Green Dragons in the 405th bomb squadron, and flew a bunch of very low level (sometimes as close as 30 feet) bombing mission in the months leading up to the war's end in 1945.
there was a B25 variant used in the pacific with a 70mm gun out of a Sherman built into the nose. Used to strafe japanese shipping and airfields.
I love how Phly can be surrounded on all sides but still manages to have fun with it. My heart rate just goes out the roof and I expect the worst... then get frustrated when I die - even though I was expecting it.

One year later I decided to watch this video over a second time and try the B-25 in ground RB again. Proceeded to shoot down 4 aircraft, bomb 7 tanks and fly 4 sorties from the airfield in one life. If you see this Phly, you gotta get Iron and Oddbawz and whoever you can and just 4 man B-25s and just have some fun. The videos from any of your channels when you all get together and play are always the best.

I miss the good ol days of the B-25 when it was an absolute tank. I'd take it bomber hunting, or even outright dogfighting, basically stall fighting at low altitude in a fur ball, and get a handful of kills between landing hits with the cheek guns on overshooting fighters, and the gunners tagging people occasionally.
Then gaijin decided the best choice of balance for bombers was to make their elevators fall off if you so much at sneeze at the plane... Like, not even one or the other elevator, they would BOTH literally fall off in the first 1-5 shells that hit you... Wtf...

I started doing this a few weeks ago, except in air RB. Surprisingly effective, they always expect bombers to be wimps and climb. Chad B-25s like to smell the grass

I've been really liking the Russian 2.0 - 3.3 lineup. Currently I run the T34, BT7M, T50, I153 and the IL2 though I havent unlocked the 3.3 IL2 with the rear turret. I so want to get the I153 with the 20mm cannons. That thing will clean up. I usually get 1 kill out of my 2 baby bomb drops. Got a pretty sweet double last night with it. Then if you done that quick and no one in the sky quickly re arm but if not you focus on spotting and taking down planes and the 153 is so good at it. But its 30 cals are a lil small so the 20mm must shred the sky.

My uncle went tree surfing in one of these. By that I mean his plane bombed a Japanese warship and then was shot down and tumbled into the trees on some small island. He was the belly gunner and the whole crew was killed from being banged around inside.
About 10 years ago some people found the wreckage in the trees and they traced the DNA of the crew to surviving family members. My grandpa was a match to Andy Merzlock, the belly gunner and I actually attended a military funeral for a WWII death in the 40’s

Tip for everyone, the UK German cupola is quite vulnerable on the tiger h1 and maybe also the German kv1. Even to American 75s
