    Absolutely best video ever on rear end subframe action

      I just got a new Mustang and I'm just seeing this. I agree best camera work ever. This guy deserves an Oscar for Best Picture. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 It looks like all you need are the bushings. The braces appear to be not necessary. Seems like a small amount of flex would help in hooking up when the car squats off the line, but I'm not an expert. I will put those in before deciding on braces or not👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

    I'm trying to stop wheel hop.. yes there's less movement but in this video it still
    wheel hops. I've done upper diff bushings, stop hop kit. adjustable shocks and I've tried different tires.

      John Bergeron, Actually the ride felt better than stock. No more sloppiness and the car felt more predictable. The only bushings that added any NVH were the diff bushing inserts, and these are really only needed if planning on drag racing.

    • @DumbCarGuy
      @DumbCarGuy 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jonasbaine3538 Just remember, you can't have the best of both worlds. It don't work that way. You can't put R888Rs then complain about the stiffness then put on some Michelins then complain about the lack of traction. My GT350 has a roll cage, modified motor, headers, lower front sub frame, Steeda stop the hop kit, ball joints, heim joints, no joints, this and that, that and this. If i wanted it to drive like I'm driving a couch I would have bought a Buick. But I want my car to drive like a stiff track car basically because it is. Did you install camber plates on top of your struts yet? Then your steering isn't gonna ever feel different or handle fantastic like my car.

  • @TheHotSauceGT350

    Unfortunately in my experience when these mods go and they do it destroys a lot of component. Best to just do it right once and get solid bushing and press them in.

    I'm looking into upgrading my suspension for purely street purposes. I've looked into BMR and while looking into BMR stumbled on to this lol. How do you compare yourself to BMR? Just out of curiosity.

    • @ruststang94
      @ruststang94 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Bryant, I can't comment on BMR but we have been specializing in the mustang IRS since the 99 cobra. We've spent countless hours on this new S550 IRS learning the geometry. We do not rush to be the first with parts available. We do extensive R&D on all of our products before we put anything out on the market. All of our parts are American made with the largest most heavily dudy bearings and bushings we can fit in a particular location for strength and durability. On the street and track, our parts have completely transformed the car to be more capable and predictable.

    • @FullTiltBoogieRacing
      @FullTiltBoogieRacing  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We didn't like the brace idea and felt like it was just a band-aid. We use replacement bushings because it solidly holds the subframe in any condition or HP level.

    Great video. Once you fix just the subframe fro t and rear it Eliminated 95% of all that without having to do the diff or the lower co from arm. My buddies 2018 is the loudest unbearable noisy POS after he changed all the parts you showed.. in the cabin you can hear a whine like your diff is going out., it is louder then his headers lol. My 2019 has just the subframe lockout from bmr and has 0 wheelhop and absolutely no extra noise or NVH. Be careful of you do all this if you daily drive your car you will commit suicide after 1 day of driving it lol..

    the stock bushings are doing there designed job just fine! they were designed for comfort and to take the initial hit so the average joe doesn't break doing a burnout... lol

    • @ruststang94
      @ruststang94 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Actually the bouncing and wheel hop is what causes the axles and other IRS components to break. All the factory rubber was designed to do was absorb NVH. It has been proven if you want a reliable IRS that will perform well on both the street and track, the rubber needs to be replace with a less compliant material.

    • @icool247
      @icool247 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      James Sarno but the NVH will be hell while daily driving?

  • @dylanknows3147
    @dylanknows3147 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yea less wheel hop but everything got stiffer and look how much more smoke the tires made on the after clip.....less traction.

    • @jodl73
      @jodl73 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes because more power is getting to the ground. Wider, stickier tires will help remedy this. But then will probably have to upgrade the rear axles.

    • @dylanknows3147
      @dylanknows3147 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      jodl73 more power isn't getting to the ground lol. It just stiffens the crap out of the suspension so instead of wheel hop the tires just spin.

    • @FullTiltBoogieRacing
      @FullTiltBoogieRacing  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Dylan, The wheels spun before the bushing but had wheel hop. Wheel hop is a killer on suspension and drivetrain. Traction can be fix with the right tires and tire pressure.

    • @jodl73
      @jodl73 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Dylan Larson When the wheel hops, the tire is intermittently losing contact with the ground. Which is why you get that stutter slid. When you stiffen the suspension the skid is more consistent. The downside is better tires are needed. Also stiffening the suspension prevents the violent movements on the suspension.

    • @dylanknows3147
      @dylanknows3147 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      jodl73 I agree with what you're saying but after the suspension have been stiffened THAT much to where there's absolutely no play in the bushings it becomes a disadvantage. Sure you can throw on some 315s and do better but optimally you want a little bit of play.

  • @fernandizo
    @fernandizo 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like the ride quality in my mustang. you put these bushings on you will make your car a lot stiffer than it needs to be. ride quality will suck.. definetly passing on this junk

    • @ac427cobra
      @ac427cobra 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Actually you are sadly mistaken because once the rubber bushings were removed in the control arms and articulating suspension components, these pieces were no longer bound up in non articulating rubber bushings. The new components are spherical bearings and Delrin bushings which allows the suspension to articulate much more freely and in turn IMPROVED the ride.

    • @fernandizo
      @fernandizo 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      How much did you spend on all those bushings?

    • @ac427cobra
      @ac427cobra 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Less thank $2k.

    • @MustafaGT
      @MustafaGT 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I added these bushings and the car just felt like crap. Put the stock ones back. It really does remove wheel hop with the rest of other suspension mods, but what I found is that the car just feels too stiff and you can feel almost every little piece of rock on the streets. If you daily drive most of the time and only roll race every once in a while, don't bother with all this stuff. If you have serious power and race many times at the track, then yes, this will be needed.
