Tenere 700 and Acerbis 6.1 gallon tank, how far can you really go?

- Riding in Arizona on a 'new-to-me' T700, I like to know my fuel range for longer trips so I hit the road to find out how far I could really go...this distance might surprise you!
...but as this was a one-time test I would say that a 10% variance should be used, the T700 dash seems a little off, plus different riding styles and terrain could make up that 10% variation.

@@rtwpaul have fun and be safe!
Great to see you out there Paul. Glad the Skydio survived. Best Health!
good to know, thanks for going out and doing it for all those interested.
Great to see you on any bike and on youtube.
great to see you and enjoy your adventures Paul, best
Great to see you fella, loving your journey. Hope we can catch up soon
You are an inspiration man. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the video, man. Great information. Love the music.
Might have to get one at some point
Good to know. That cover Coldfoot to Deadhorse. Maybe not Circle Hot Springs and back to the Steese Hwy. but close. Throw a jug on back. I have the same tank but haven't mounted it yet. If you rode Iceland on it would you be able to travel much the same areas as with the KTM with confidence? Good vid. That's a beautiful area. There's a good trail road up through Cave Creek that comes out in that direction.
most of Iceland would be doable but not as much fun, this has a little more range than my KTM if I don't fill the rear rally tank. Trails for days north of here, but bring hydration anytime of the year, they don't get much if any traffic
I just looked up that route, you could go to Circle and also Circle hot springs, nowhere near each other BTW, and back to the gas station, the total trip is 305 miles - goo.gl/maps/s7Qf1txMKEW58LsS7
@@rtwpaul Yes I thought it may be enough. I made it many times in my work truck, it runs out at 410. Many times there is no fuel available out there. I had several gold mines there to inspect. The end of the hardtop is 90 miles out, Killer view from Eagle Summit, see almost all of that portion of the eastern Yukon valley. Solemn place. Not all airplanes make over the pass.
Thanks for the info! Just curious if RTW Paul and Longhaul Paul have ever joined forces? Sounds like a similar pasts in Teneres… S10, 660, T7.
We’ve said hi years ago
How did it effect balance of the bike? Did it make it excessively top heavy?
I find it top heavy when it’s almost empty!
You probably found out by now, but the Trip F resets when the bike gets out of reserve. This sometimes happens when you put the bike on the sidestand and there is still quite a lot of fuel in it. It's not connected to turning off the ignition.
Hey Paul. Good to see you out and about.. my Ténéré 700 just came in.. come help me set it up.. limitless beer 🍻 here bro 😎
Where’s here?
@@rtwpaul East Texas!
Hello Paul.
Just wanted to tell you that, although the Acerbis tank is claimed to be 6.1 gal in most sites (Acerbis site included), indeed it's closer to 5.8 - 5.9 gal. This was demostrated by another youtube user.
Here it is:

Plastic tanks swell as they age, mine has over 30,000 miles in lots of hot weather riding, I put 6 gallons in it just two days ago.
