Its amazing the stamina he has at this age---he's not just playing fast, he's hitting hard too.
A 55 year old guy playing a tune most 30 year olds would hate. He did a great job. The dude is a beast!
What's to hate? This dudes full of double bass and power.
tom is the beast bro /../,
And compare him to a sellout like Lars Ulrich, who's been drumming for basically the same amount of time and has lost all of his edge. Tom is truly an incredible specimen and one of the kings of thrash metal.
I’m 27 and love this song! One of my favorite Exodus songs
@@sliehgtofhand Agreed. And Lars almost certainly couldn't play this song in his prime.
Tom Hunting has always managed to take one simple pattern and make it groovier, funier, heavier, and more technical. Only a few achieve that. He is one of a kind
I've never seen a double bass run as long as that from Tom! Never really saw him as a "double bass guy", except for fills and such. Amazing drummer either way.
Holy shit!!! That's the longest double bass roll I've seen from Tom. Brutal stamina.
Like Father Like Son, Corruption, Verbal Razors??
I am abomination?
One of my favorite drummers. I'm lefty like him, proud of it!
Feel ya! I'm lefty too and he's been a hero since I started playing!
Yeah, can tell how he's got his set arranged, looked up whether he was left handed, sure as hell, didn't know that actually...lol
Lefty, can you explain what that means,?, do you mean leftie like progressive political label?(?), because I think I heard from Gary itself saying he is to right wing hahhha funny, you should check out that interview with Loudwire
@@davidpinto-fernandez7132 lmao he means left handed
Tom's strength are definitely his arms. Even if this was a Bostaph track he fucking rips. Can't fucking wait until #11 is out.
Killing it bro!!!! Extremely powerful drummer. I found myself cracking up of how strong toms feet are in that double bass run.
That’s some incredible stamina-Wow!
He does all those fast, complex runs, yet he keeps impeccable time! To me, if a drummer misses time, even once, it sounds like a train wreck to me. Some of what I call great drumming is very simple technically, but that timing was perfect . Tom Hunting has “it,” and yet he’s blasting out some very technical, complex runs. Wow!
Лучший барабанщик и один из тех кто вдохновляет заниматься музыкой 🙃🤘
Left handed beast
Like Emilio from POSSESSED, Tom needs his own drum cam channel. Tom Hunting Rules!⛧🤘
This song keeps its brutality with Zetro on it. He nailed it. And Tom is TERROR .
Lets give some credit to Paul Bostaph, the original drummer on SHKM
Hell yes. I MUCH prefer Paul’s version to the way Tom plays it, but Tom definitely made it his own. Both amazing drummers.
Paul bostaph
Paul also wrote and played the drum-tracks for one of the best thrash-metal albums ever: Testament's The Formation of Damnation. seriously, the drums on that album are so good and just fit perfectly
@@zubiac Yeah, he's very creative with arrangement, his albums with Slayer are the best proof. I hope he and Kerry will do something similiar to that Gemini song from UA.
Paul did great in Exodus and even in Slayer, but in both cases he had it hard
Great!...old school...greetings from Chile!...🤘🇨🇱🤘🇨🇱
Great song! It has been a while since I heard it.
Tom is the man.
thats some oldschool drumming !
Totally.... F**kin'.... Awesome!!!
So nice
A living legend 🤘
kick ass - watched the premiere
That was killer. I hope they do one from Donald Tardy (Obituary).
Badass Tom!
great drumming
Crushes, love vio too
Power. 🌪️
I love it

Nasty!!!!!
Paul bostaph wrote the drums 🥁
Breakdown at 4:06 is simply sick!
Brutally done!
I know Paul bostaph played this on the album, but did Tom actually write the drum parts? He sounds like he is the one who wrote it,I can't explain what it is, but as a drummer of 34 years, this feels like his song,it just sounds and feels like it belongs to him, and as good as Paul's version is , Tom's drumming sounds more natural in this song, maybe it's because Paul is like a metronome and seems to have perfect click timing in his playing on every song I've ever heard,it's very noticeable when he was doing slayer stuff that Dave Lombardo wrote, it just felt and sounded to safe , Dave Lombardo uses tiny peaks and troughs throughout all the songs where he plays with timing, and it's a difficult thing to copy, you either have it or you don't,to me ,Tom is right for exodus, Dave Lombardo is and will always be the only drummer that worked well for slayer, and I think Paul's best stuff was with testament.
This can be true actually because I've have heard that before leaving the band Rick and Tom were working on the demos of the songs which appeared on Shovelheaded killing machine.
I always thought Paul's timing and double kick was sloppy, particularly live. They can fix things in the studio, but when you see him live, you can tell.
He tends to play the fast stuff too slow and the slow stuff too fast. Where when Dave plays, you can tap your foot to it and the transitions are smooth; when Paul plays them They are jerky, speeds up and slows down and the double kick sounds like shoes in the dryer.
Tom Hunting played on at least a handful of the songs during pre-production and he thinks that Paul heard the demos and took inspo from them. From the looks of the "Shovel Headed Tour Machine and Other Assorted Atrocities" documentary, Gary also gave constructive criticism to Paul with his drum parts, probably to make them sound and feel more "Exodus"
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Hello fellow drummers
He may look like a guy that would run security outside of a low budget strip club but he can throw down
I love his paying. But this is not played like the real by paul bostaph!! Bostaph is awesome
Played it wrong actually but it's good
brutal
Amazing drumwork.... Zetro ruined this song
