The new version isn't really that much better. The light is more focused, resulting in a brighter spot and higher candela on paper, but not brighter overall. The lack of a screen makes the lamp more robust, but the operation and battery display are worse. The new buttons make operation a little more complicated. Where I used to press once before, I now have to press 2 buttons. 1 step forward but 2 steps back.
Does the EDC 25 have the same step down sensor the EDC 27 had? I think that's a terrible function it causes my light to step down in foggy and dusty environments too.
Nothing. Don't tell you about the EDC 27. If the screen stops working the LCD screen that means you don't know when it dies or when it's done charging. So you pretty much have to keep it on the charger and when you get in contact with nitecore they don't even help you. They send you to a bunch of other people. That's cool manufacturers. Only on startup in case something blocking. They fixed it for sure

27 display is killer.
27 is way cooler with the LCD readout. I use mine for firefly mode. Those light arrays look like a cost saving downgrade.
