Really enjoyed your videos! Good job. My workshop is clean and with metal racks like yours, and I too am about to embark on the bench build. Been watching many videos so far. Will use ideas from several. THANKS! =o)
I'm glad to see your completed bench. Very nice job. I hope you are well. When I watch your videos, I could just as well be watching myself. Just like you, I am learning by doing and by TH-cam. Sometimes it gets really ugly. I chuckle periodically because you do and say things that I do and say.. Do you have any idea what your next project will be? Best wishes from Virginia.
Hey, Jay. Yes, next up are a couple of night stands for the guest bedroom. The mattress is really tall (37") so I will make some custom sized night stands. I'll post during the process. Take care.
Hay Dave, I Love the bench. Some of us that have gone through what you have realize how short a time its been for all of us that love this craft. Your humble approach to thing is inspiring. One thing you might want to consider, making a few more jigs to do some of your cuts on the table saw. Your hand's a little close to that blade. Ask me how i know!!! I now have 9 3/4 to show for it. Keep up with your inspiring video. We Love them.
Hey, Duke. You are at least the second person who has expressed concern about my hands in proximity to moving blades. Evidently I am not doing something correctly. I will take your advice to heart and be way more careful. Losing a finger would greatly reduce my ability to paint my water colors. Thank you for your commentary and concern. Much appreciated.
Great Build and watching it all it was refreshing to watch how your skills improved as you progressed And bravo great job One tool suggestion for a new tool you need a marking gauge it will help you immensely in laying out
Hey, Dennis. Thanks for the encouragement. Yes, a marking gauge is needed. I've already made one that works fairly well, but I think a more professional tool is needed. Mmm... sounds like a good birthday suggestion for my wife.
Yeah. Time to stop with the beginner excuse. Router planes ? Nice. Truly inspiring work David. Put a splitter on that table saw. PS Do you still love your 14/12? I’m about to pull the trigger.
Yes, the 14/12 is great. My issue is with the blades, two of which have snapped at the weld while in use. Not good! I don't think I have them on too tight. I am going to investigate a different brand. I do have a splitter on my table saw. Sometimes I run without it depending on the cut. Also I've had trouble getting the stock past the splitter. It's not 100% parallel or in line with the blade or fence. I'm investigating that issue.
