TSMB2, I would like to sincerely thank you so much for spending God knows how many hours making this. I have probably listened to this over 100 times by now because I have found that listening to it on repeat really helps me to focus when I'm working on my dissertation, and watching the video often helps with my anxiety, so not only do I absolutely adore this Black MIDI but it has legitimately improved my life. I don't usually leave TH-cam comments, but I just had to make an exception for this because I want you to know how much I appreciate your hard work :-)
I thought black midi was just collecting pieces that other people made while putting other music and your own into a thing that plays the combined music
Oh, look! This retirement home has a piano. I bet the seniors would love to have some music brighten their day. *cracks knuckles *begins to have seizure on keyboard
Robin Powell “I mean, it’s melodic and really cool, but you just slapped utter bullshit on the paper and hoped it works, and got lucky. I am disappointed but amazed.”
This is the first black MIDI song I've ever listened to, and I have to say I'm at surprised how much music there is in it. I expected it to be nothing more than a wall of noise and yet this is beautiful.
T-this was a beautiful MIDI. I don't know if my 3970x can handle it. ;-; Like you said earlier, I like how the MIDI portrays a story. The beginning is analogous to the reign of a monarch, king, or leader of something. The phrases go up in depth as they pertain to the king's life. Later on, they get darker and essentially tell of the king's advances, whether or not they are good or bad. The first break preludes to a period of prosperity, as shown by the energetic cacaphonic notes show of the times of peace, until things happened. After that, another break follows, with a more somber tone, alluding to the king falling to some other force that ran him out of business. The energetic carthartic release of notes that follows effectively entails the king's return, revenge, and destruction of whoever stands in his way. The melodies following the next break effectively entail the second reign of the king, as the melodies increase in mood. There are nostalgic moments where there are twists on melodies shown during the king's first reign. To truly show the king has returned. The notes that follow are completely unique and are extremely complex, proving how much the king has progressed from the experience he had gained from everything. The crash point at the end shows you who is truly boss: TSMB2, the Destroyer
I may have actually shed a tear, no joking. this is amazing, an audiovisual treat, a pure and beautiful blend of an assault to the senses and pleasing art.
12,000 notes per second! Wow. I was more impressed by the visualization than the actual composition which I found stunning. It is what it is, so I couldn't really listen to it every day. But it did hold my attention, and I made a comment. :-) Thanks for sharing your passion and hard work.
Aside from the fun spectacle of the black midi effects, I really like the melodies and arrangement of this song itself musically I really like this one
To play this you must be in a slightly different position than usual. When the song begins, play like you normally would. As the song progresses, place your foot atop the piano and slowly bring your weight down on it. Eventually you shall completely lie down on the piano and carefully distribute your weight. Now, the next step may require assistance for amateurs. This can be from siblings, friends, spouses, or pets. All participating shall flop on the piano like fishes desperately gasping for fish oxygen. This requires much practice and study to succeed. It is recommended that you take several times more caffeine than usual. Any seizures that may be induced are encouraged. Others can also help by dragging their faces wherever keys seem neglected. As others may have demonstrated, random children are especially helpful for this part. They tend to become professionals in no time. Try to keep the steady pace of a cheetah who just got its cheetah girlfriend stolen by a flying monkey. Many will have passed out by the ending, but if you have not, good job. You now have three days to live
Based on how weird the account is, I’m guessing @lalaland7570 is a bot that stole another person’s comment, and it sucks that a bot comment is top on mobile
I have grown to love black MIDI and I have began to use a program called MIDI Trail and I have became addicted to downloading, watching and listening to these MIDI's
Man, it's really awesome to this finally completed. I love absolutely everything about this amazing work art. I'm so jealous that you guys can make stuff like this, I sure can't with my crappy computer xD. All of you guys are amazing for not only making this these amazing works, but sharing them with us without asking for anything in return, although I'm not sure there's anything that could adequately compensate for this. I remember how black midi was before I started following it like I do now and it has come very far and disappointed in myself that haven't been able to offer anything to this community. So I offer praise in the hopes that you notice and appreciate it. If you don't, I'm sorry, and if you do, you've made someone very happy ^__^. I hope to see this grow and grow even if I'm never able to contribute. You're all awesome! And thank you for the (literal) days of entertainment! Peace!
It is art. Both visually and audibly. You create the visual art with the notes, and use the placement to make a harmony only the sturdiest of computers can play. But, aside from that, you are, by far, my favorite Black MIDI creator of all time! All of the time and effort put into this masterpeice was worth it, and I know you will only get better from here. You can do this! -T.T.
Your wait is over. The final epic conclusion to TSMB2 the Destroyer is here. Upload the MIDI, then one day if I upload it I'll make another list of TSMB2 the Destroyer uploads. ;)
This is incredible!! You put so much hard work into this and it really shows. I can't believe how fantastic it turned out, not only visually appealing but musically appealing despite the utter orderly chaos. Fantastic work!!!
Saw it just now. Man, black midis are a form of art man! Anyone who speaks otherwise is wrong. The amount of technique, attention and effort that is required to create one isn't something to be overlooked! Its beautiful! I congratulate you.
What I really like about this is that you can hear most of the notes. Many people seem to just slap a billion silent notes on top of a song, and then call it a black midi. Very good song, keep up the good work!
This is just... just epic... I am the kind of person, going from video to video and and I (most of the time) dont even think of rating a video. But this is just a masterpiece... Man, very good job. Black Midi, Great Sound, Epic Melody, perfect. Keep it up man!
Although i cannot do much more than to thank you in words of appreciation, i will do just that, thank you. this is truly an aesthetic and worthy work of art. Personal fav

One of the best songs I have ever heard. The beauty lies within the imperfection. Many people will say there are many missed or silent notes - but that is not the point. Look at it visually and judge the sound as a whole.
This is really interesting. I suppose some of the transitions between different parts of the song could have been smoother, but other than that, this song is pretty much perfect. I love how it's a very visual experience as well as an auditory one. Keep it up!
Wow, watched to the end, but had to take it out of full screen about 3/4 of the way through, it was gettin' too trippy for my old ass. Even so, I can't describe how impressive this is man. Full on respect.
This MIDI inspired me to making more videos and making lots of algorithms to render MIDI's. (Although my methods on FL is not easy (no ocr tbh)) And you inspired to me make MIDIs. (normal MIDIs, I will black when I feel ready (_i burnt my arm with sun wtf_)) Man, I *WILL* start to make video of this *TOMORROW*. damn end crash m8 _lets make another crash noets version_
I want to let you know that this is genuinely beautiful. Along with that, I can imagine this easily as a theme for a boss for a game like EarthBound, and the colorful background would obviously be like the video.
Holy crap. This sounds freaking awesome. This is one of the best MIDIs you've ever made. You did a great job. P.S. How did you do the MIDITrail piano thingy in the background?
It did, many times, but to force it to render I think he slowed it down (and maybe split it into chunks), converted it to .wav (or some other format that preserves waveform rather than individual notes), then sped it back up for publication to youtube
Well yeah otherwise it would just be noise. The point is not for all the individual notes to be heard. It creates a sort of texture. And of course you can’t forget the visual flare. It also serves as some fun competition to see how many notes you can cram in a song.
In the most intense parts the notes create a hum that get moved alongside the melody. I've heard this done with black midi before, but not with such "impressive" movement.
you sir definetely have a lot of free time and a lack of thoughts how to use it. Put so many efforts in a such a project, where most notes are unaudible, but the midi looks... nice.
I'm torn on the subject of invisible notes. On the one hand, they contribute to a visual art of their own, but on the other, A they are somewhat dishonest and B they make the MIDI unplayable on many computers. Maybe consider uploading 2 versions, 1 with and 1 without invisible notes. Oh yea, and 1 in MP3 (or another waveform format) that can be played on simpler devices.
Well this is the best black midi song I have seen yet. You feel like you can actually hear every note; not this crap where you see 5 million mute notes fly past. And it sounds awesome.
This is the first Black MIDI that my eyes and ears actually enjoyed so well. It's loaded with stuff and yet it doesn't feel noisy, and I don't think that there seem to be blank notes, which is the usual thought I have whenever there are patterns like at 0:30 (the thin crosses) that come up -(I take that back. I recall --5:15--.)- [Not really sure... they could be just too faint to notice.]. The slashes and chevrons like in 3:51 were my favorite parts, because I love the slight accents these add to the song.
I have to say as some who uses midi live, God damn man you can programme! to say I was impressed by this would be an understatement, and then some! brava!!
Actually if youtube fed the viewer the MIDI your phone (and probably some supercomputers, after all processor and memory access speed is finite) would crash too, TH-cam converts the music into something comparable to a .wav or .mp3 file that represents the wave your speakers produce rather than the original MIDI. Which means a computer that can handle youtube at all can handle this just fine.
Listening to this while watching the video is like watching the fabric of reality being torn apart by the destroyer. Also, I loved the subtle hints of Pi in there :)
This is the most intense knitted scarf I have ever seen in my life.
Lmao
You mean the strings inside the piano half way through the song if you play it?
TSMB2, I would like to sincerely thank you so much for spending God knows how many hours making this. I have probably listened to this over 100 times by now because I have found that listening to it on repeat really helps me to focus when I'm working on my dissertation, and watching the video often helps with my anxiety, so not only do I absolutely adore this Black MIDI but it has legitimately improved my life. I don't usually leave TH-cam comments, but I just had to make an exception for this because I want you to know how much I appreciate your hard work :-)
I didn't think my videos were this influential... this means a lot to me.
TheSuperMarioBros2 now all we need is an asian guy to actually play this on a real piano.
ShinraFugitives
what a way to kill the mood thank you
I thought black midi was just collecting pieces that other people made while putting other music and your own into a thing that plays the combined music
@@1imag337 no because that would be stealing the creator’s song
This was so dope. As a musician/composer, I was really impressed with your layering and ability to keep the melody coherent amidst that utter chaos.
Came here for this. Really impressed with the way the melody is situated so perfectly above the cacophony.
To me, it seemed like he just put a bunch of visual patterns in it, and put a minimal amount of actual composition in it. Like a background.
Jack Horowitz most of the notes are inaudible
I noticed in in this one though, that more of the notes are audible than other black midi pieces I've heard.. it strikes a good balance
Lmao sounds like a dying goat.
Man, that melody at 3:24 is the most beautiful thing i've ever heard in my entire life
Can't stop listening... SO awesome!
Words cannot express
Celso Fernandes thanks man! means a lot
@@TheSuperMarioBros2 I think he’s exaggerating it a little. All jokes aside, this song is great

Dude. Amazing!
Love the work you have done on this. I should have left my comment sooner. I love this stuff! Subscribed.

Listening to this while watching the video is like watching the fabric of reality being torn apart by the destroyer.

Music can speak messages that can't be said in words.
