@@steveweston2288 if you can find it(the brochure), i´ve been looking for it since 1980, i have the ES-2000 system bought in japan in 74 and it was upgraded compared to the 72 version , there is the Rondo, which were not starters system but improved components looking better and better building materials also sounding better, the loudness and tone controls are the stronger i ever heard but if too high one doesn´t hurt our hearing still looks new, the loudness makes any woofer wanting to get out of the box and with 30 watts fills 150 watts speakers and one can´t believe the quality of sound ,that year components looks old and pealing . The brochure of the ES-2000 ,colour and in english only saw it and bought it from Ireland in 2017 , the box in japanese had the instructions that unfolded like toilet paper written in japanese, the system i refer is like a SX-1250 with a more refined look and speakers like the HPM-1000 that apear one year later and the cast iron ,very good looking PL-560, if someone has information about this system please tell. it looks amazing good not like the 79 receivers, much better in design and colours, if one puts it loud without any distortion the sound travels through the elevator pit and is heard on the cofeeshop across the street from the 20th floor , kind of a penthouse, only has two houses diferent on top of the building , but not like the apartments bellow. There was the SX-408 receiver sold with a PL-518X and two 4 ohm speakers boxy type. Also the SX-700L receiver and the PL-400, plastic frame and bigger speakers but the box isn´t that deep but as a big woofer bigger than 12" with CT-200 wich, at least when recent i recorded some cassettes there, type I, like the BASF LH-extra I and the maxell UL and still sounding very good today , when i recordecalbums they would stay at home for the car or other places i made compilations, some today cant imagine that Pioneer made system with great quality some were for starters like some early 760´s compact horizontal systems who weren´t that bad or better say compared to todays modern and expensive equipment ,those will sound much better, even today the only thing i tried was in the ES-2000 system was the SB-F3 from technics that mde it sound really amazing to the point of having spent a lot of money on a modern black system in late 80´s till mid 90´s (it´s a very long history)as i had a problem with a new pre from Sony ES and while it didn´t return i only put the ES-2000 receiver to substitute when the pre arrived i was almost feeling depressed , gfrom how better the 74 receiver sounded compared with the most expensive ES amplification system , no doubt that when loud had a clean sound but the other seemd some ranges above at a low volume, the turntable found them cheap not in price but in quality so i started to re-use a SP-1 from 72 personalized with a AT arm and MC cartridge, in 96 i went for the TD2001 from thorens who i found amazing good as one is used to with thorens turntables ,i don´t even know if they still sale other components
