  • A video of the drawbridge in Florida, where a West Palm Beach woman fell to her death. The woman was about 10 feet away from safety when bridge started to rise. A man standing on the other side of the barrier arms grabbed her as she fell but could not sustain her grip, police said. She plummeted more than 50 feet.

My dumb self was wondering why she didn't attempt to roll down the road, rather than fall straight down. Had no idea the gap at the bottom was like that. Poor woman.

My question would be with all of these drawbridge accidents why is there no tower that is actually higher than 12 ft so they can actually see the whole Bridge? Then actually have a steel gate that a pedestrian or a vehicle cannot get through? With the reported drawbridge deaths through the years, you would also think not only having couple of 30-foot Towers overlooking the bridge you would have one person at each end of the bridge. This is not rocket science, this is draw Bridges, we learn about this in third grade.🔥
