Cable management is top-notch. A certain very large /\/\ vendor installs and services a lot of stuff around here and their cable management is hideous.
I prefer cisco for routing and switching, and I like juniper SRX series firewalls. Fortinet is ok from a firewalling perspective but man that CLI is abysmal. Palo Alto firewalls are amazing and feature rich, but so is their licensing.
In this application I'm stuck with Junipers or Fortigates... Sadly I don't want to pay for the junipers I would need so thus... Craptstic fortigates. I am looking at a Juniper ACX1100 for my home network
Wish I knew more about consoles. We recently ditched our Zetron vendor and the new vendor will only mess with avtec or motorola consoles. No money to make the switch. I'm hoping our Zetron stays true to its reputation and just lasts forever.....wishful thinking....
@ Nice. Are you a Motorolan? I’m assuming so because you’d need access to the transport network tool that shall not be named to set this up. It not, I won’t tell.
Take a bunch of radios and provides one interface to it usually with one mic and speaker vs the many mics and speaker that having individual radios would present
Lol. CTRS is a secondary purpose. It's main purpose is as a home lab core for me to learn on. Because (apparently a shock to a certain someone in this comment section who's comment I had to hide... I don't know everything XD)
@@anongator Some people just don't get the purpose of a homelab, which is a shame because its arguably the best tool out there you can use to learn pretty much anything.
Lights go blinkey 😛

Once the setup is stable I'm going to come back through and cable lace it
I'm a datacenter technician and I'll admit seeing RGB lights on a rack is a first 😂
Work wouldn't let me do it on our racks... So ofc the home rack needed some, looks sick as hell
I've got a 42U rack in my server room fully RGB lit 👌😀
Ah, a man of culture
We put them up at work and some clients liked it and asked for leds on their racks😂
In a perfect word... Everything is rgb
my bank hates me too!, i keep buying old broken scrap i don't need but oh well
I knew a guy who worked for motorola and he always called it moneyrola.
Yes that's about right. I think I've got a T-shirt somewhere with that on it XD
@@anongator all I can afford is baofeng anytone retevis wouxun and maybe hyteria
@ryanmigliori9142 gotta use what you can get. Definitely don't go out buying 4k APX8000s if you can't afford it

@@anongator is there a specific feature set you require that pushes you away from an MX or SRX series juniper?
For the core MX and SRXs are what's used. For my personal home router.. I looked for what's cheapest
@@anongator check out SRX300s they are still current and actively get updates.
Oh those are sick. However doesn't look rackmount able. Guess I'll look a bit more before purchasing the ACX

Is that a challenge? >:3
Oh god....
Thats not just a dispatch console though.
Thats so much more than that
That's for sure. Especially now with the data portion I've added on.(painfully)
@@anongator no pain, no gain.

Older Zetrons have a habit of not dying XD it's kinda inconvenient
What system release are you running?
I was running 7.17
Now running 2021.1_Redfish
@ Nice. Are you a Motorolan? I’m assuming so because you’d need access to the transport network tool that shall not be named to set this up. It not, I won’t tell.
Si... Frankly I regret not just doing 2021 from the start.... Downloading 7.17 off VTrak took years...
@ Yeah, vtrack is long in the tooth for sure. I have come to enjoy its simplicity over the new method though. You going to Vegas this year?
Yea Jira is a bit of a pain... But is wayyyy faster.. so I'll allow it..
Yep I'll be there for the last hurrah in February
what is a "dispatch console"?

@@anongator Thanks for explainning!
@@anongator but what do you do with it?
Use it to combine all my radios into one interface. Along with learning how it all works and goes together
Do you have a Tiktok channel?
God no. I keep Chinese spyware off my phone...
😎 😎 😎
Waste of power.
I didn't know you were paying for it XD
Never a waste if its for CTRS haha
