The cover was very difficult to remove which I put down to "muck" that had got inside and was acting as an 'adhesive'. Really fantastic to get it working again. Can't believe the down votes.

Thanks for this video. The first time thru, I did not heat it with the hair dryer, I was sort of afraid to melt the remote. But, after I assembled the remote, it did not function any better than before. So, I took the remote apart again and cleaned more with alcohol, hit it with the dryer for 5 minutes, then alcohol again on the board. There was more dirt that came off, but the alcohol evaporated promptly. When I assembled it the second time, it worked well, This TV and remote are in the kitchen. It was amazing how much cooking oil had entered the remote! I’m wondering, does the heat from the dryer warm the solder enough to “reconnect” it to working?

I done this and worked...remove batteries hold in power button 60 secs and keep holding it in place the batteries back in while still holding the power on/off button.
He doesn't say what he did before he took the case apart. I would definitely try 1) remove batteries 2) press the Power ON button for 45 to 60 seconds. Press the STB power button for 15 seconds. 3) Press every key at least once. 4) install fresh batteries (you had already TRIED fresh batteries, correct?) 5) Try the remote again. This fixed my remote, a BN59-01178W.
I can add to the chorus that this worked a treat. Couldn't believe how much gunk was in there in general, in addition to whatever one of the children spilled on it!
Ive got this problem that whatever I press It types "8" so I guess that button is jammed though I cant feel it being stuck. Tried to open it few times but nothing.. Wonder if theres anything I can do except buy a new one
Be careful! Doesn‘t work with remote AA59-00638A (with backlight button top right). Mine broke, because it is glued on the left side by manufacturer. Rest works fine. Maybe I 3D print myself a housing.
My Samsung TV is working using Power Button, but when I use remote control theres only Power Red light indication but no Display.. But the Remote Is working In my Other Samsung TV

It worked! Wow, I hated the chip for 3 minutes with my wife's blow dryer. Wiped down the board with alcohol and that was all. Thank you!

Make sure none of the buttons are sticking down first. If they are use a knife to pop it back in place.

It is not possible to open the remote control and then assemble it without gluing, because it was assembled in the same way at the factory.
