Found this on Rustoleum web site under questions about their clear coat product. What do you think. Thanks for the video.
Q:Can this be used on the solar panel of a solar post cap to waterproof it and protect from UV damage??
    Nov 18, 2023
A: Thank you for reaching out, Phil. While Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Clear Coat provides a weather resistant clear coating to metal or plastic surfaces, we do not recommend applying directly to the solar panel. This can hinder the performance of both the clear coat and the solar panel. -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14

Great tutorial! Did you find that adding the clear coat reduced the overall time the lights stayed on? Thanks!

There’s no such thing as a “solar” battery. The batteries that come with the lights are rechargeable Ni-Mh.

There is such a thing as solar batteries, get them in the lighting department at Home Depot or Lowe’s….doesn’t really matter either way as long as they are capable of charging by solar 😉

@@WhatTheFoxSherriFox I have lights from Lowe’s and Home Depot and the batteries are either Ni-Mh or Nickle Cadmium depending on what the lights call for. I have chargers for both type you plug into an outlet to charge them fully when there’s less sunshine. You can call them “solar” batteries if you must but they’re just rechargeable batteries. The packages will say what type and rechargeable or for solar lights but they won’t say they’re “solar” batteries.

Plastic cover solar light doesn't work. Still look hazed. This work on glass.

If it is plastic, try rubbing it with some WD-40 instead😉

RainX headlight restore kit does a better job (plastic lens almost same as majority of cheap plastic headlight assembly on cars)

No, not at all, in fact, I have no time anymore whatsoever… This is just a cheaper option if you don’t want to buy a new solar lights😉

For how cheap these are might as well buy them brand new, batteries also get older and do not last as long after a couple of years

Well, the 1980s called, and it wants that old way of thinking back.
