I clean the battery contacts with alcohol, wash out the glass globe and reflector in the bottom and fully charge the batteries with a relatively inexpensive rechargeable battery charger before reinstalling in the fixture. Rechargeable batteries are rated from 500 to 1500 recharge cycles, so the charger is worth the cost.

I am going to give this a try. I have some lights on my pool deck that are left on all year round and noticed the film covering the lens as well. Well done Russ.

I have a load of solar lights. I clean them yearly. I’ve found to clean the solar panels that I use a erazor sponge or Brillo pad to clear off the residual. Rinse with water. Done! I’ve been trying to learn how to clean them for years.

Another good suggestion. The wet/dry paper worked well for me but more people likely have brillo more readily available. Thanks.

Looks great! I decided to try ceramic/glass cooktop cleaner on one of mine. It cleaned and cleared it right up.

They are great accessories and the solar tech has come a long way. I have some low voltage lighting also, but honestly these work just as well and have been going for years. Just refurb them once every couple years and they'll last a long time.

@@stephainebates4020 I’ve also replaced batteries in mine. Of course some may just stop working but it’s worth cleaning the panels and changing the batteries to extend there ability to operate.
