Hay-Lee Rhine-Heart. Independent artist & owns most of PMJ’s top ten viewed covers including Radiohead’s “Creep”. Joined PMJ ten years ago this month. Check out their cover of “Don’t Speak” her most recent PMJ cover, returning to PMJ after a 5 year hiatus. If you want to hear a Haley original, the best studio recording where you hear all the colors in her voice, check out “Haley Reinhart Chess Records” where she covers Blind Faith’s “Can’t Find My Way Home” & sings her original “Don’t Know How To Love You” with only her dad, Harry, on acoustic guitar, cheers ✌🏻
Jacob Scesney is one of the most sought-after woodwind session musicians currently in the business. Multi-Grammy winner, including Golden Globe and Oscar nominations, contributions to over 50 charting recordings. He is mainly known for his saxophone work. He's probably taking a huge pay cut to appear on Postmodern Jukebox. Than again, Postmodern Jukebox is some serious fun.
Jacob graduated from the same school as Casey Abrams, Idyllwild Arts & who introduced Casey & Haley Reinhart to Scott Bradlee. The 10 year anniversary of them joining PMJ is coming up (or has happened, sometime between December & January) at a PMJ residency in LA
Haley’s roots are in Rock & Roll, especially’60’s-‘90’s having been raised by a Chicago blues guitarist & power vocalist whose influences include Grace Slick, Janis Joplin & Ann Wilson. It’s been said Haley’s dad used to do call & response scatting with Haley before she could speak & often scats in her performances. She didn’t start getting serious with Jazz until she became her high school jazz band’s first lead singer leading them to appear at the jazz festival in Umbria
Nice - funny the timing of this one coming out the same month as the Creep reaction. Be interesting to see how that one goes as its much more out there in terms of whether DH will think the style fits the song or not, though I think its a more interesting arrangement and better performance overall.
To be fair to the person who created the end credits - Jacob Scesney plays sax on a bunch of PMJ tracks. But maybe it was also same guy who failed to credit the banjo player on Gimme Chocolate. 😂 Anyway, looking forward to your reaction/review of Creep and I hope you're doing well with your neck surgery.
Funny coincidence.. I was introduced to "Postmoder Jukebox" just last week by a collegue and spent most of the Friday checking out the different songs from their site. This song was one of the immediate clicks. And here we are. :D
Haley Reinhardt is one of the greatest singers of our time, and way too few people even know about her. Once you're checking out Creep you'll get a 4 1/2 minute masterclass in singing techniques. She does it all. And you will not even guess the style they're using, resulting in a version that makes Radiohead's original sound like the cover. One tip: pour yourself a good Whiskey beforehand.
This was really good, but I'm not surprised. Haley (Hay-lee) Reinhart appeared on one of those shows like American Idol many years ago. She wasn't good enough for them, which is crazy since she's got insane talent. Try this version of Creep by her and PMJ. She's remarkable. th-cam.com/video/m3lF2qEA2cw/w-d-xo.html

Thank you for your comments on the instrumentations. Most reactors miss all of that. Thank you, great reaction.
Love PMJ in fact going to see them in Meridian MS Thursday night....

Take care ✌️
What a fun arrangement of a great tune.
Fantastic! ETA: Wow! That may be the best rating I've heard.

Her dress was to die for, but they all dress quite sharp.

Who woud dare scat the lead guitar part? She did and killed it. 😊
Finally you re getting to the top shelf stuff

My favorite cover from Postmodern Jukebox is "Creep", again featuring Haley Reinhardt. I hope you get a chance to review that one at some point.
It's coming at some point this month :)
World-class musicians, Scott Bradley is a genius but they would be nowhere without Haley Reinhart’s vocals
Not so much a cover as it is a reimagining, IMO. Enjoyed your reaction DH.
You NEED to watch her with their version of Radiohead's Creep!!!
She reminds me of Jessica Rabbit
Maybe the credits guy (or gal) has watched too much Kenny G, and thought it was a soprano sax. 😎
I don't recognize the song and I don't know what a new Orleans durge is but this was a great cover
