Good talk. Talking to them is good, I just hope they listen and apply it.

@@OfficiallynotkatieAre you a lost character from the film “Idiocracy”, like this man? His entire statement is off the mark. Just because he’s got a microphone and struggles with sentence construction due to an apparent lack of vocabulary, logic, and common sense, we’re supposed to say _“Ah, indeed…he’s correct.”_ No, he isn’t! No one has ever said that to their kids. Well, except for him, it seems! _“Our parents told the girls not to be raped and their sons not to rape.”_ That’s something that should be common knowledge across the country for generations, and the whole world should know that’s what Americans tell their kids. But that’s not the case at all! And then he wraps up his statement with something like, _“Well, you know what? You should tell your kids that too, by the way. OK?”_ Unbelievable! Seriously?! ... WTF? ...

@@Officiallynotkatie This is why I was surprised! The problem arises when individuals, like him, make some personal projections onto others without considering the diversity of humanity, or even just of their own country, which is a crucial factor. Everyone raises their kids differently in the country and around the world. But here, people who think that because they were raised that way, it works for others, obviously, is irrational and strange.
It's like having a very narrow view of families of the country and families on Earth. Also, it would be extremely boring, redundant, and not interesting at all to meet people with the same education, by the way. This is why we are all different even if we share almost the same ideas in general, or do the same things sometimes.
Assertions like _“Follow my advice because it worked for me when I was little, OK?”_ are just impossible. Let’s be real, the country is huge and our planet is incredibly large. There’s not a single solution that fits all humans or families on this earth. Nothing works 100% of the time for everyone, just like a medicine or medical treatment for example. It depends on many different factors. Or if it really works, this is something that everyone on Earth should have understood decades or centuries ago.
