Great job 👏 I had to watch all the video cause you'll are so funny and fun to watch. Great family relationships. 👪. Loved it clean and perfect, took alot of work and dedication, you definitely have patience. We are going to make one for my grandson hopefully we can make it as nice as yours . Thank you!!
I knew that was going to be awesome. I installed one of those things many years ago. Of course it was back in the day when I was doing the gorilla suit on a mini-trampoline halftime dunk show for the local 4-H club.
I got a different model and installed it per the directions. I didn’t put concrete or rebar down the middle of the pole and the backboard is wobbly. It looks like yours is too though. Do you think the rebar and concrete down the pole helped?
I loved this video. The only thing is why put the goal so close to the house? Why not center it more in the driveway for the kids to develop equal shooting capabilities on left and right side of the rim?
Thanks! Several reasons but mainly- The driveway has an irregular slope due to cracked/sinking concrete. I put the hoop on the flattest slab to they can practice free throws with somewhat flat footing. There pro/cons & risks to anywhere in this particular situation.
Hey man, great video. Just wondering if the re bar was part of the instruction or you just put one for extra support. Planning on buying the exact hoop you have.
Great video! Our city has removed all basketball rims at every park thanks to COVID! Do you need to spray the springs with WD40 regularly to prevent rust?
Thank you! And sorry to hear that, seems a bit overkill. I haven't had to do that so far,and no rust. Perhaps the type of steel in this one does not require it.
Holy shit dude this is a perfect video on how to do unsafely as possible. From flip flops, to no respirator when mixing concrete and your kid right there sucking in the dust to using an angle grinder with no safety glasses. Please set a better example for your kid.
Good job and I dig the NBA Jam music and sound effects
Thanks Brian, that was my fav part!
Looks good! NBA jam sound fx brought back some great memories. Thanks for that!
Thanks! It was my first game playing on the sega, good times man.
Awesome! That was so pleasing to watch the sharp edges on the hole, the concrete, the grass. Mmmmm
I almost kept the hole I liked it so much! I love hole.

Thank you so much 😁
One day i hope i can build one together with my kids when i have kids 🙌🏼
It a great time I'll always remember!
That is the cleanest install I've ever seen.
Thanks Ben! It was a PITA, but worth the extra time.
+1 !!!
Great job Kovan. Life time of memories will remembered around that hoop.
Thanks Grace! I remember playing at my grandparents, they had a hoop on a telephone pole and a gravel/dirt court.💚

Were you in that Master P video?😆
@@kove No Limit Baby! Shhh...
Hello, nice installation, could you please tell me the piece/ base you installed very first to the concrete? Where to get them ?
the base of the post? Not sure what it's labeled, sorry.
What is the name of the background music in the beginning?
what part? Most is from nba jam
3:01 this part
@@XxJurassicGodxX Chris Haugen - Fresh Fallen Snow (I LOVE THIS SONG)
Thank you for the info on that music. I, too, was waiting for your answer. 😅
Great install, I want to install my hoop but is only 9feet tall. What type of post can I use without loosing 2 feet?
Don't know, sorry but good luck!
Great job dude hope your kid enjoys it
Thank you very much. They certainly enjoyed it this far!
Kids with hoops in the driveway end up on Varsity; they get very good. Well done Dad.
Thanks Tommy! It's on a slope, so I'm thinking it will also give them very good touch.
The professionals will lower the board first, and then lift it up and insert.
Thanks for the input, but how is that different exactly?
Nice grass
It has taken a long time to get there! Thanks?
I got a different model and installed it per the directions. I didn’t put concrete or rebar down the middle of the pole and the backboard is wobbly. It looks like yours is too though. Do you think the rebar and concrete down the pole helped?
The board wobbles with about 1" of movement. My guess it it helps a good about as concrete effectively doesn't bend. How much play does yours have?

Really enjoyable and helpful to watch Sir. Wouldn't expect anything less from a Marine.
Thanks Chas, Semper Fi!
@@kove Thanks to your instruction - me and my 11 year old boy are finished!!
@@itisaporsche Awesome! May the free throw gods bless you and your boy! ;)
Awesome job. Came out so great that Shaq can’t bring it down!👊😎
😆 Man, an awesome period back then!
Koven Carlson yes it was!👊😎
Round circle thing mounted onto your support very nicely! Lol 👍🏼
I'd attach the red ring to a plywood support if it were up to me!
Koven Carlson I’ve been there before! 🤣
nice job clean
Great video koven These family type are some of my favorites.
Thanks Mike! It's fun when everyone is involved, and it makes it easier. 😉
Really good job just to let you know on the right hand side of the basketball rim you got the basketball net a little bit twisted
Thank you Zackary and Keen eye! I just checked and it's indeed twisted, add to my "to do" list ;D
Hey man, great video. Just wondering if the re bar was part of the instruction or you just put one for extra support. Planning on buying the exact hoop you have.
Thanks RWN. The rebar indeed is part of the instructions.
Dude. Did you find out you cut a sprinkler line out?
I still don't know what it was lol. To my knowledge there is never sprinkler system here, and in the line that I cut there's nothing inside of it. 🤷
What a great project for your kids... and you!
I truly was. A huge PITA, but worth it!
Lol I gotta give you two credit. From 6:52-7:54 could've caused a huge argument. In my experience anyway
haha, ya it was the one stressful part of it all
This is beautiful. Loved the family aspect of it. Im trying to build one for my 6 year old daughter who's starting to like basketball.
Thank you! It turned out better than I expected.
Good
Great job! Thank you for sharing!!!
THanks Ervey!
My backyard is all cement mostly, and portable basketball hoops aren't really my style, what do I do?
Rent a jackhammer, put a permanent one in?
Hello are able to help me install a basketball hoop
I may be able to, do you have a question?
How tall are you
I'm 5 8, why?
How many bags of cement did you use?
Around 3 I think?
PITTL, time for memories on the court
It's getting quite a bit of playing time already!

Nice work! 👍🏼
thanks John! Going with in ground hoop was a good choice. Much more clean and "home" feeling.
Do you know how mags of concrete you used?
It was at least two. I don't recall exactly how many.
whats the dimensions of 2x4" brace you made?
I want to say close to ~16"x12".
I mean I was gonna like it anyway, but lol, the NBA jam 🤣
That was a last minute decision too! It hit me like suddenly Carl. "I should put those sound FX to us playing". lol
Good father, Cute kid, Good wife= Happy Family^_^!!!
Thank you!!
Why on earth did you build it before putting the hoop and backboard on... You have a ladder..
I didn't consider how heavy was going to be. 😉
OCD much?
I have an old piece of concrete next to my driveway from an old hoop....
Ugh, that would be a PITA to pull out! Will you ever?
I think it’s called a basketball goal
Didn't even cross my mind, thanks!
Sana all
Salamat!
Gonna have to say I agree, you really need a telescope.
Oh the things we'll see 😀
NBA JAM!
The only Sega game I ever loved💚
Great work!!:)
Thank you Kamal!
You just cut off a sprinkles line there
Interesting, I've lived here 12 years and never came across any other lines like that.
I stand in the back of my truck to install these
What’s up

😎👊
aw yis
Thanks for holding that ridiculous microphone. It gives a nice vintage appeal with excellent sound.
😂 I just wish the cord was longer!
@@kove That’s what she said
Why doesn’t he say hoop?
A what? Are you talking about the red ring thing?
Next time put the hoop so that it’s at the lowest setting not at 10 feet and then you can just stand it up no problem
I had to watch it again because this makes so much sense I can't believe I didn't do it!
@@kove I tagged you in a video showing how I install hoops
You can tell the amateur from the professional
Sound so mean to her
Took me a month to reply, and I'm still not sure what to say..

I honestly need a safety advisor, how much do you charge?
How deep did you dig your hole?
21" IIRC
