  • I finally decided to paint our half court. I was holding back on painting the concrete since the original plan was to buy sport tiles from VersaCourt.....BUT.....I eventually decided to go the economical way. We might still get the sport tiles later on but this is good enough for now.

    Hi, can you share which paint/stain you used along with the stencil kit? also, did you prep the concrete (besides the powerwash)? thanks

      You will not regret it. My Son is a totally different person because of basketball. Good Luck!

    Looks great! I'm starting a backyard court shortly and will be doing some line painting with a stencil kit. Curious - what edge transition pads did you use on each side of the pole? I'm hoping to avoid broken ankles from the sharp concrete edge.

      I used square pavers and leveled them as much as possible.

    I understand youre supposed to prime it with concrete primer before painting?

    I am thinking of building a 30x25 ft court. Is the 30 wide enough for you?

    • @BallOrDieTrying
      @BallOrDieTrying  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, because we cannot practice the corner shots from the three point line. We had enough room to build the full width with the 3 point lines in the corner, But we did not want to be too close to our neighbor's house to avoid noise complaints. We just did not want my basketball practice to be a neusince to our neighbor. If you are serious about basketball and you can build the full width, do it. If it is for recreational purposes, 30 width is enough.

    this court without 3pt line on sides hurt me

      Same here. We built it like that to make sure we are not a nuisance to my neighbor. If we built the full size width, we would have been right next to his fence and close to his Master bedroom. In short, we made it that size to make sure our neighbor does not complain about the noise. So far, that has been no complaints in the past three years since we built. If I want to practice three point from the side I usually go to the gym.

    Any issues with being slippery?

      I add a little bit of sand in the paint mixture to give it texture.

      Only if it rains or if you have no traction on your sneakers.
