Ain't that the truth! Was watching The Faces at The Marquee Club and saw this in my feed. Felt like I stuck gold with what's basically a video of the "Waiting For Columbus" concert, and naturally LF didn't disappoint!! Plus the fact is was a Rockpalast production which are always spot on. LF is only real with Lowell, IMO (naturally no disrespect to Paul B., Bill P., Richard H.,etc). My Thanksgiving Day treat today!
@@KoloaKane Ok you know I love the Feat but I have to respectfully disagree as Allman Brothers Live at the Fillmore is considered by most the best live album. And since my all time favorite band is the Allman Brothers they get my vote✌️
One of the greatest jam bands ..there's nothing these guys couldn't play! Glad I saw them so many times along with Tower of Power back in the 70s..Loweell was such a soulful guy..Billy could take you to church with his keys ..what a band. Brings back so many good memories.Great songs! Paul and Lowell were just funky together.
Caught Feat every time I could, have seen them recently with TTB, will see them again the end of October '24, TTB about two weeks later. Feat's don't fail me.
I miss that man to this day. He grooved like nobody else. He told me in a conversation we had in Jamaica 1995 that he wished he had played less on all these classic tracks in his younger days as he was being pushed hard to replicate his own stuff that much later night after night. He always did but I got his point for sure.
I don't know who turned me onto Little Feat in the late 70's and so glad they did. I could hear all of their catalog a million times and smile. So funky - those pinch harmonics on Dixie Chicken - such a unique groove. I hear some second line in there (Bill Payne) and they always reminded me of good times on Bourbon Street.
Proof that the R&RHOF is full if it is that these straight savages weren't inducted 30 years ago. Outstanding, and like the best of the best, with no weak links in their music chain. Killing it here.
R&R HOF treats the musicians like shit- according to the musicians interviewed. And yes, it is a pile of elitist bureaucrats who don't know crap about music. I will say, however, that the induction of Leon Russell by Elton John is wonderful! Check it out. But, the HOF had nothing to do with it themselves.
Little Feat were not quite my style at the time, but all these years later, I appreciate them more than ever. So much talent on that stage. What an incredible show. When these shows originally aired, you were lucky to see them one time. Now, 50 years later, there are so many of these concerts available on TH-cam. Some that I never saw and some that I had seen and never thought I would see again. So many heroes that are long gone, yet here they are, just as we remember them.
Man, these guys were just soooo good. Can see why they were Linda Ronstadt's favourite band (even allowing for her relationship with Lowell George). Thanks for posting Earl, deserves a lot more views.
@earlguthrie7196. Greetings from the U.K. Thank you for uploading this video of the finest band of musicians to ever walk this planet. underappreciated is the correct description of Lowell and Little Feat. Musicians, Critics and people with ears know and rate Little Feat highly, where they belong. There is true genius in this band.
Thanks for the post. Was very fortunate to see Little Feat many times since their formation. Just recently saw them a couple weeks ago. Time to go dance around the house with the wife, she love Little Feat also. Enjoy , I will.
Little Feat with Lowell George were one of the hottest bands in the world in ‘76-‘77 after their live album release. Fortunately saw them in Providence.
I got a call on a Friday night that an old gf had tickets for the Saturday night show in Austin, Texas. Saturday morning I was on a 7am flight from DC. 77 or 78.
I love the outtakes from the interview and the broadcast that they used on the album as intros. As a high schooler in ‘83 I had no idea where they were from.
Never seen this one before - really cool and relaxed - Since it is one of my favorite bands of all time and I never got to see them with Lowell - this is priceless. Sail on, sailin shoes...
Love Little Feat but was pleasantly surprised to see Ry Cooder in action (And a bit shocked no one else in the comments mentioned this)Ry was one of the best bottleneck guitarists ever
Just Hearing little feat's music on record or tape even the radio was something special.. Lowell, at around 2:20 sinhging like that with a cigarette hangiung between his lips. He was just so great at music. Saw him once. We were robbed when he died.
One of the best live bands, but the albums are great too, DIXIE CHICKEN is my favorite, SAILIN' SHOES too, but they have other records thar are worth of research
I saw Little Feat, Ry Cooder & Captain Beefheart & his Magic Band play in Pasadena in 1970. Concert was put on by KPPC, an extremely influencial radio station and tickets were...$1.50.
Every year it's why or how are they not inducted into the Rock-n-Roll of Fame? Lives were too short, but nonetheless, the talent speaks for itself. Years of platinum and gold records were missed because of careers cut short, but the library of music made is enough. So damn unique.
This is absolutely brilliant, was lucky enough to see them supporting the Who at Charlton Athletic football ground in 76, new some of there stuff beforehand but was blown away by the live performance, masters at work. Some lunatic climbed one of the floodlight towers during their set ,closely followed by security guys, guy is hanging by his arms 100 feet in the air, Little Feat just keep going, I was close enough to see that they were watching the proceeding's too, they got the guy down. It was a wild day as has been well documented, the Who were pretty good too, oh and Alex Harvey and Widowmaker and Chapman Witney Streetwalkers but thats another story

Richie! One of, if not the hardest working drummers of all time! Had rhythm even in his hair🥁🎤
The very best thing about TH-cam. Finding a clip of Little Feat original lineup showing what real music is.
