Blockhead produced this track and the album it's off of, Garbology. I also heard some backing vocals from Rob Sonic in there too, I think. Glad to see you back on Aes, your reactions scratch my itch.
I'm glad you liked it. I think these are my favorite type of Aes songs: a powerful message, some hard bars, hard beat, and intricate lyrics with some lines to dissect but not completely over the top complex. The super complex ones can be fun too but you just have to be in the mood, whereas I'm always in the mood to listen to this one. Note: maybe the first verse is a metaphor for him escaping the matrix and realizing in fact that "you ain't the person you let your believers think you follow"... good god damn. Note 2: blockhead is the beat guy or maybe the producer, otherwise I believe Aes makes his own beats most of the time
Definitely, agree. Some of the more complex ones you have to be well rested :) Thanks for sharing that interpretation! I like it! And for the request ofcourse! The next one is coming later today. It's the longest reaction i ever recorded. My brain was fried :D
Itch scratching confirmed 😊 The best part is after 50+ listens, you still catch new possible meanings and connections - makes long drives hella engaging to storytell alongside word for word - it has become a very niche pasttime. "Difficult" off the same album is a continuously ironic play on words about how he's not that complex, the standard is just too low.
