That 48" hookaroon is a monster! I can't imagine using that big thing. And that little Fiskars seemed to bounce off more than it dug in.

Oh man, that thing really comes in handy on big wood. Those large rounds we handled at your farm would have been a breeze to load and unload with that thing. It really keeps the hands safe and gives you tremendous leverage. The little Fiskars is an odd bird and yeah it bounced off a lot. No weight to it. I am a bit confused as to it’s purpose. I did picked up another Fiskars tool which hints to its possible purpose. That will be one of my next videos to do because it addresses one of my gripes about the Fiskars line.

Recently needed to replace my Hookaroon. I broke the tip off my second Fiskars hookaroon and they sent a refund since production is way behind. Just ordered a Ochsenkopf aluminum handle one!

I like my Ochsenkopf for the most part. Only downside do far is that the ash handle is a little soft for when I over strike, not paying attention. I still like the head design on the Husky that Phil is using a little better.

I have been trying to get my hands on one but they are going for over $100 right now and that’s more than double the msrp

I got 2 pickaroons, 32 and 36", ideal lengths for me around the splitter and moving rounds.

Who makes the ones you have? I’ve been contemplating picking up the log ox set

I’m a little hesitant to use the aluminum ones just because of the metal fatigue issues people have mentioned on the steel ones. However I have an aluminum felling lever for climbing that I have had no issues at all with. I’d like to see a review of it when you have used it for a while.

@@grizzlywoodservices4825 will definitely be doing a review over time. The official un boxing will be posted shortly. A little behind on the editing end of things.

Editing has to be the worst part of making videos. At least for me, I’m not a computer person.

Oh buddy, you should definitely get one. Honestly from my experience with them so far they are a tool everyone should have. If you don’t have the benefit of machinery they are worth their weight in gold. 24-36 inch handle and a 1-2 lbs head I think are the most versatile

I’m loving it. I’ve more or less only had the one issue that I talked about in one of the videos and that has not been an issue since. My biggest hurdle is keeping up with the machine.

I have a 35 ton sho. Love it. Fast and is stout. Got about 19 hours on it.
