Such GREAT Memories! BTW, I'm 70 years old now. I sure miss that told coal burner~~!! Coming thru Belmont, Ga .However,, I would love to see the original videos. Real Live Videos.
this is an interesting set of decapods (never heard of of the gainesville midland) there's a lot of diffrent roads and steam engines i never heard of till i've seen you're promo videos (their all awesome)
TrainMan 555 The Gainesville Midland became very well known for continuing to run their big Decapods, some ex SAL into the 1950s. Some had stokers as well. Eventually though the engines were retired when the line was bought out by S Steam in the south died early (1950s, ACL, SCL, & SOU were some of the first to go entirely diesel, along with NYC, Erie, and northern lines), mostly by 1950-55, so Gainesville Midland by 1959 was a well known railfan spot.
I have question. Do older versions of the locomotives from SP2 work for the SP3 version of T:ANE? Because i want to use the freeware engines to start with K&L, but none are SP3.
I live right next to #209! I’ve also I’ve seen her sister engine #208 in winder Georgia, they are a lot bigger in person. Also, I can’t find any audio of their real whistles, are these real GM 3 chimes?
Funky Pirate They aren’t exact, but some recordings of both the 208 and 207 exist, they both sported three shine whistles. The 208’s whistle was slightly different to the rest, most likely due to being reshaped by the GM at some point.
Nice job on making the Gainesville Midland railroad D-3 2-10-0 pack very nice indeed i am just loving it very nice looks like the locomotives from real life numbers 530 and 533 from the Seaboard air line railroad and renumbered to 208 and 209 for the Gainesville Midland railroad after their retirement in 1959 and placed on displays.

@@RailsofMichigan GM had way more than four decapods -- ten, in fact: nos. 21 and 201-209. Of these, 201, 202, 204, 205, and 206 were Russian Decapods while the rest were "ordinary." GM also had a bunch of 4-8-0s and several 4-4-0s, Ten-Wheelers, and Consolidations, as well as at least one 2-6-0 IIRC. One of the Consols, the 116, is displayed not far from the GM tracks in Jefferson, GA. Sadly, the 209 in downtown Gainesville is now landlocked by a considerable distance. I believe the 2-8-0 in Freedom Park in Charlotte is also ex-GM, but I don't remember the number. 203 is preserved at SERM, 206 is preserved as SAL 544 (its identity before it went to the GM) at Spencer, and 208 is in Winder, GA.
Great video... except the route. If you're going to have GM locos, they ought to at least be on a route that looks a LITTLE like the actual Midland. That piece of railroad goes up and down so much, you could have slack action with a light engine! I had started building a route in Trainz 12 (it was actually going to be the Gainesville & Northwestern, not the GM itself -- but would have included most of Gainesville including the terminal and yard), but my computer died about a year ago and I haven't been able to work on it since. Naturally I hadn't backed up the files.
@@KLTrainz Understood... it's just that a Midland train on a flat route just looks so WRONG to me! I admit I'm picking nits, and that most people won't know any better.
That whistle tho, ITS GORGEOUS
Beautiful models as usual and the pacing scene near the end was epic.
I must say you absolutely nailed the appearance
Love that 3 chime!

Once again, congratulations! Another surprise well done! At least we all know whenever the next one is due!
words do not describe how happy I am that you did this, I live not 20 miles from Gainesville so I know 209 quite well and I love her.

Wish there was a way to get the side blower on older versions. I would love to have it on the Frisco 1630

There is a way to do that, but it's extremely difficult

First steam loco I ever saw AAAAAAAAAAAA
What are the Maintenance of Way cars that Gainsville Midland 208 was pulling, where did they come from?
Need old fashion freight cars, don't know where I can find them.
Please release C&O 490 soon I’ve been waiting for it forever

What design is this locomotive based off of?
Robert Kersey Great Western / Strasburg Railroad 90
I guess that’s another decapod crossed off the list

These are Baldwin decopods not Russian decopods just like 90 right
Pretty sure. I think Russian decapods had air compressors/ water pump right under the smokebox door
GWR/SRC 90 is a regular Baldwin 2-10-0. SLSF 1630 on the other hand, is a Russian Decapod.
