Camping and Rock Climbing at Hells Gate with Kids

After another week of intense work and school, we decided to take a weekend break. We had just had two consecutive weekends of tough hikes and decided that an easy weekend would in order. We also did not wish to travel far.
Hells Gate National Park fit the bill very well, easy hike in the Ol Jorowa Gorge, closeness to Nairobi, and packed with fun things to do like rock climbing at Fischer's Tower and mountain biking.
It also has 3 campsites! Did you know that? Now you don't need to do a mad one-day dash to the Park and back home but can camp as well.
It is also next to the Olkaria Geothermal Spa! What a combo!
Here is our amazing 2 days trip to Hells Gate National Park where we hiked the Ol Jorowa Gorge (sooo easy!), camped on top of a cliff offering panoramic views of the Park (Naiburta Campsite), did some rock climbing at Fischer's Tower, and chased the week's fatigue at the Geothermal Spa.

The local community has woken up to the fact that to keep visitors coming, they need to improve safety and prevent similar accidents happening in the future. Hells Gate is one of our favorites place to go on a weekend.
