    Thanks a bunch and it can be a bit intimidating just by looking at the ATV. Wasn't sure how to remove the throttle cable.

    Just put a new carb in my 2005 kodiak. Starts good, idles fine, goes forward and back. BUT if I give it more throttle, in neutral or in gear, is starts to bog and lag. Any ideas? Rev limiter? Pilot screw needs adjusting? I dont know much about them.

      These carbs with the big throttle diaphragm can be finicky to having the air cleaner and tubes all in tact, to create the right suction.
      Make sure you’re air filter is in place, and that your air box lid is on and that your tube going from your air box to your carb has no cracks and that clamped down tight. Also theres a hose with about a 1/2 inside diameter that goes from the top of the carb to the intake pipe, make sure that hose is hooked up at both ends and that it doesn’t have any cracks, that hose will be crucial to running.

      Does it matter if breather hose is pointing up or just hanging down loosely? Thanks!

      I know I’m late but I just had this issue with my 2000 kodiak 400 and it was the air filter the air filter had been turned to dust and fell apart

    I just did this on mine but replaced with anew one and now it won't start. Is there something that needs to be done to prime the bowl?

      Tap the carb the needle valve might be stuck or you could open the drain screw for a sec to make sure the carb fuel in it.

      I don't mean to come off as snobby, I don't know too much about carbs, my brother is big Into 4 wheeling and he suggested I replace the carb cause the previous owner put on a cheap chinese amazon carb. So I'm wondering, did you get a 30-40$ carb and that's why it isn't running? I'm actually about to replace mine today.

      The line that connects onto the very bottom of the carb is the overflow/drain hose, it just gets kinda routed so it can drain on the ground

      Breather tube seems to be what you are indicating. It should go up on that rubber membrane below the tank and fit into appropriate holds.

    • @Pfarley
      @Pfarley 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@chrisgable8408 the throttle cable goes into right side triangular plate, the choke cable goes into the left side. The gas tube should be self explanatory. The size of gas port fits the intake tube from tank. All the rest are breather tubes.

    My 2004 big bear 400 4x4 i think needs carb rebuilt, but thr carb on mine has 2 electrical wires on the bottom of the carb, not sure what they are for, i'm assuming it's a fuel solenoidn. I've seen several replacement carbs that don't have any electrical connectors, will it still work without those? Any hell would be great. Thanks.

    • @brn2ride788
      @brn2ride788  ปีที่แล้ว

      Never seen that on Yamaha but some Hondas have a little heater on the carb, it’s not mandatory, so if you buy a carb without the wire it should be just fine
