Thank you Haul'N Grass, I have asked 3 different channels for advise and you were the only one who answered. Have a good day and good luck in your mower!
I miss racing we raced at private track . First ran Opposed horazonal flathead Turbocharged. 100hp at 6000rpm.(20lb boost) Then went to v-twin (briggs again 993cc ) got 125hp 6000rpm13 lb boost
Big Tip... An English engineering firm just developed a component that automatically adjust TIMING on Briggs and Stratton engines. The created it for the American Eagle Scooters which use the Briggs and Stratton vanguard V-twin
Hey there Haul-N-Grass I am building a RACING MOWER, I was wondering if there are some NHRA Building SPECTS for to build the Chassy and Engine Cage. If so where would I get some? I would like to build it to code.
Tip.. stainless steel oil filter . 3 to 5 times the oil flow , takes out smaller particules and acts ( somewhat as oil cooler) but the best attribute I the high oil flow imho.
I am building a B&S race engine. It is a two cyclinder V-twin, but I cant seam to find racing parts. Do any of you guys know were I can get race parts?
Hey there Haul'n Grass I am trying to build a Racable Lawn Mower, and would like or was wondering if there is a NHRA Cage Design on these Mowers? If so I would like to. Have one so I can build mine to the Spects.
Anything done to your carburetor? Is it a nikki carb? How did you hook your throttle cable to it. ? l did you drill your carb jet ? Sorry I'm Just new to the v twin world.... Great video.
barnett37 I’m running the stock Nikki carb. First I removed the choke system and the I made a custom throttle using the existing hardware that went to the governor and carb. I did drill out the jets which I have a video on. If you need pictures I can send them to you. Just send me an email at Haulngrassracing@gmail.com
@@haulngrassracing is your head shaved any ? I got a 21 hp single Briggs I do 100 ft drags .. thinking about using a ARC Racing head gasket... what I had to do on my starter striping noise was grind and washer some of my block to make it fit more squarely.... thanks for the reply back.
barnett37 yes. With the cam it was suggested to mill .030” off to maximize the cams performance. I run a copper head gasket that way if I need to remove the head I can heat the gasket up with a torch till it starts turning colors and then I can reuse the head gasket
barnett37 I bought mine from Www.eccarburetors.com I did my own heads because I had the equipment to do it. Some small engine machine shops or motorcycle shops might be able to do it. If you can find a machine shop that does custom CNC and milling work they can do it also.
love to go racing again our private track shut down ( insurance liability too high) Project now is 1450cc underslung turbo Buell Firebolt fy buell racing chassis rims World superbike electronics , carbon ceramic permeter brakes racing swingarm with oil tank in swingarm . @@johnsargeant2041 if they kept the belt drive system then it was probably a belt slipping. I had that issue when I ran it. Needs to be upgraded to a chain driven clutch system
2nd tip Head temp gauge from ...trail tech... cost 30$ on ebay tells you head temp continuousy and INSTANLY . WIRE GOES UNDER PLUG 10 MINET INSTALL. We use them on ALL race engines. Hell I believe they are used On F1 Engines
Why they do not allow small turbos ( cheap 250$) on big block engines. Same hp as high compression, high rpm small block bored/stroked which cost MUCH more. OR at least allow horazonal opposed flathead twins and single cylinder OHV to use small inexpesive turbos to equal hp of worked non aspirated v-twins . This way MANY more people could afford to enter the FXT class . Hence better racing BTW you can get 4340 H type on rods fro 120$ a pair which are MUCH better than the billet aluminum units The 993cc briggs hoazonal v-twin. We took it out, installed it into a Harley Davidson electra glide and sold it with 13,500 miles on it 115hp at rear wheel.(BIKES MEASURE AT REAR WHEEL) Engine ,forged internals cam ect cost less than 1/2 of a George Herrin engine. AND Lasts 4 or 5 times as long HAUL YOU DO GREAT WORK JUST WISH THEY WOULD CHANGE RIDUULOUS RULES. ATLEAST.... Hello Hauln ....www.batterystuff.com sells ACTUAL lead. Still the best octain booster. ALSO it lubricates the valves . BTW the lead is inexpensive . DO NOT USE IF YOUR USING AN ECU. If carbureted ,like I said best octain booster on the market and lubricates valves /engine .
I can't be positive but its pretty high. Anything less than 90 octane and it knocks. seems to run good with 91. having issues with the bottom end and trying to figure out how to drill out the low end jets but not succeeding very well. I didn't drill them out enough, and by drill I used welders reemers last time.

Steve Jones wow good question. I’ve never seen one but I know people have built cages for drag racing but not sure if it was NHRA design
Awesome! Its amazing that a belt can creatv enough friction to spin tires on pavement...
My CP mower isn't as powerful but will pull the front up coming out of the corner! pretty impressive for belts lol

Lol. Im thinking about getting back into racing but Ive been having way too much fun with the offroad mower.
Lol I don't think the wife will let me build another one so I better stick with racing ;-)
Yea mines not too happy about all my mowers. I think I have 14 now and a ton of parts.
Wow lol I know who to call haha
