But in the anime, she was also the strongest women in the empire with a might makes right ideology. But over time she started to desire love & romance. But not understanding why.
Nicely done! I swear, the newest manga (Chained Soldier) by the same creator features a female lead called Kyouka Uzen who is basically Esdeath without the evil personality, but with the same dommy-mommy attitude and more ecchi. Also, she and the male MC are practically a thing
Whenever she’s not in her torturing mood or if she wouldn’t have the intention to kill anyone that isn’t even a fighter, she would make a perfect wife. She’s the type to fall for, but I wouldn’t want to risk my life being with her.
What some people don’t realize he would have been with her if she changed sides but the way how she was raised, kept her from doing that no matter how many times he tried to convince her she wouldn’t do it because she believed that was weakness, and he gave up on her
I love Esdeath as a character. There's just enough there to humanize the borderline-sociopath and sadist that you might root for her redemption. Except, her beliefs are so deeply ingrained that redemption is impossible. She doesn't regret her choices and likes the person she is. You can't redeem someone who doesn't want or think they need redemption. Great character.

After Tatsumi left, she found herself starting to take pleasure in things like art and nature when we saw her visit a museum and later on a moonlight stroll. We never saw her turn away from her evil philosophy but the anime gave us just barely enough to show that being in love with a regular humble person like Tatsumi was opening up her heart more to the value of life. For the first time in her life she couldn’t bring herself to end someone else’s, and it’s entirely possible that if she had spent more time with him, maybe she could very well have realized how wrong she was
