Loving the Maserati video’s. At least you’ve gotten the most important feature for a Maserati owner working - the hazard flashers.😉 Looking forward to seeing the rest of the resurrection take place. Wishing you all the best! You’re a brave man for taking on this project.
I use the solder and shrink tube connectors all the time. Screw the heat gun and use a small kitchen butane torch. I picked up a 2 pack for $14 on Amazon.
Mike, did you also get the RF HUB with the “new” modules? It manages the car keys and it’s tied to the other modules, for example on Charger and Challengers if it’s messed up it will prevent the start up procedure. I would also bypass the pyrofuse on the battery terminal, if salt water got into it is definitely messed up and it won’t power up the major system of the car.
Hey notice the the flashing push to start .. flashing Maserati push-to-start button usually indicates a problem with the key fob or the car's immobilizer system, meaning the car is not recognizing the key fob properly and is preventing the engine from starting; this could be due to a weak battery in the key fob, a faulty fob, or an issue with the car's immobilizer system itself. you probably need to hook it up to a dealer computer to reprogram it again.
Hey Mike! Loving this series on the Maserati, great to see some progress and you sticking at it where I think most (sane?) people would have long ran for the hills! Awesome as always hope you can get it running!
Been loving the Maserati videos and at keast u got the hazards working and u can hear some rely clicking and stuff and the start stop button light flashing and everything hopefully yall can get this thing figured out and get her to do something soon knowing randy being good with flood cars and bringing them back to life I'm confident you and him will get this thing figured out and brought back to life. Anyways keep up the great work much love to ya have a good one take care god bless see ya on the next one
I am praying nightly for you Mike 🙏🏻, I think the parts cannon approach is going to be the only way 🤦🏻♂️ ! Just whatever you do, never count up how much you spent 😂 ! Come on Maserati ! Help this poor man out 😂 !
1 thing to remember about your Maserati friend... It's a Chrysler product and thus begins the headaches, trials and stuff throwing. I wish ya the best in getting that pile to start let alone move under its own juice.
Remember. Take leather fat. Brush it on all the leather (like the dash). The leather will 'relax' (it's a natural skin). After it has relaxed it will be possible to stretch it and glue it back on the panels.
I feel you 😢 I have the same problem years ago 2018 jeep Cherokee never run again 😢 I’m pray 🙏 you get it done I least good help around you 👌love tho see running again
The Maserati GranTurismo with the sweeeeet sounding V8 is what you should have gone for.... Such a gorgeous car that is... Prob a wee bit more than 5k though... 😚
That's not bad for all you bought ! That very well could have been a few thousand dollars ! That's a beautiful car and you will be able to make some money back on it too ! Keep up the good work Mike and enjoy your day my friend
Up here where I am. It’s been extremely cold here. When I went on my first break at 9am the regular temperature was -1 feels like -21 thank god for remote start
Flashing key light, mostly means something is not connecting correctly? Everything in that system has to be looked at? Randy’s high dollar autel might be able to active test /special functions parts of that system? Hope so dealer time to get that key system looked at?
Check and clean every single ground you can find. If the ecu isn’t getting communication, you need to track that down. Are you hearing a fuel pump spooling. Is the brake light switch and neutral safety switch working and test good? Starter functions? Trying to run through my head basic simple analog things that will screw up, and have you firing the parts cannon at this thing.
"Welcome to episode 57 of my Maserati adventure, where we finally get to drive it..... to the junk yard on the back of a tow truck!" 😂 I'm sure you can get it running Mike! Or at least we will enjoy watching you try!
Those cold solder connectors are kinda ok... But especially colder and moist weather those connector are bad. Works meaby one year but then have to fix with proper solder connectors.
Mike. You should have first stepped back and think about what you need first. 1.) determine where the can fault is happening. unplug all nodes ( modules ) and plug in 1 at a time and scan the buss. Check for the termination of the buss thru the OBDII. Until you can comm to the modules on the Buss you will have nothing. Ivan at Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics has some great vids of tracking down the buss failure. Think of nothing else until you have the Hi/Lo can up. Note: It could be the stupidest thing Like mirror or sunroof module. Get a wiring diagram of the buss for that car and follow it one at a time. It is a daisy chain lose 1 lose them all. With the diagram you can see where starts and ends. Start at the first module until up then on to the second and keep going.
I think on those Maserati cars there is a lever to put it into neutral on the floor right in front of the drivers seat, just like the lever on the Dodge and Chrysler cars that share so much with them.
Hey Mike, did you check the starter itself? Also, I worked for a roadside assistance co and also investigated claims where vehicle owners would allege that a tow truck driver damaged their vehicle. One thing I learned is that shimmying the car off a flatbed and dragging it wreaks havoc to the engine/tranny/rear end. Hopefully that's not the case.
See if you have power at the engine fuse box. Check every fuse and relay for power. Also, you know the starters in flood cars are an issue. I don't remember if you checked it. Maybe someone that works on them at dealership or The Car Wizzard will see this and help you out.
The dash claims it does, but in reality it just looks good while sitting still, doing anything more than that is a violation of the rules of the world lol lol lol😊
Monkey Wrench Mike, your own personal garage at home would make a nice setting if you gave it a remodel, first with a thorough cleaning and reorganized work area including benches and shelving for your conveniences. Put a design on paper on your needs then slowly put a plan in place to declutter by placing things you don't need in a organized parts shed adjacent to the garage. I like watching your content, Thanx 4sharing.
Mike cheek the push to start button I think it’s flashing codes from it also check the starter or have you replaced it I been watching the videos on this and I don’t think you did or is that the same starter that was on it I like those new connectors I’m buying some of those I enjoy the videos and with Randy and Nick helping the care is going to run warm up and have a good week
At 31:30 it could be a Low battery charge, Faulty battery sensors, Issues with the start-stop system itself, Extreme weather conditions I looked it up and told me this so hope it works
Headlight module! Do you mean to tell me that car has computer controlled headlights?! That must go with the computer controlled ashtray and computer controlled glove compartment door!!
🤖 Im pretty sure that what you call headlight module are actually the individual modules that each headlight has bolted within their housings that ultimately are controlled by the BCM or perhaps a “Central Electric” module…which would also control things like the window switches and such. Ultimately i think this is going to be a way more complicated endeavor than just swapping a “combo” of parts that came from another vehicle. These modules sometimes need to do “handshakes” before communicating with each other and if for any reason one of them is a different revision, even if its the same general part number, it might not work because in the end the Hex coding in them is different. I would first try to see how you can manage to make the OBD scan tool to communicate so that u can dig deeper into the programming itself. And finally, i love how basically all the electronic modules you showed us have the “Mopar” logo on them…lol…proof that these Maserattis of this era are just fancier Chrysler/Dodge vehicles. btw, the engines on this car is based on the Pentastar engine found on Caravan’s / Chargers / Grand Cherokee vehicles but reinforced and with force induction. So if u need engine parts, make sure u cross reference with some Pentastar part numbers; maybe u can save some bucks.
This is the length of video I’d love to see from this channel more often
A Maserati can be an electronic nightmare WITHOUT being dipped in saltwater.... Fingers crossed for ya´ Mike!
Flatbed driver a pro!!! Kudos!!
Sure is I was admiring it as a flatbed driver myself 🤙🏼
I am so invested in this Maserati now😂
Loving the Maserati video’s. At least you’ve gotten the most important feature for a Maserati owner working - the hazard flashers.😉
Looking forward to seeing the rest of the resurrection take place.
Wishing you all the best! You’re a brave man for taking on this project.
I think that there may be a very thin line between bravery and insanity 🤔 😮😅.
Sometimes I think Randy should install a fire suppression system in his shop, just for your cars. 😅
Probably a good idea!
I think that's a great idea!
Keep them coming Mike ! Would love to see it running!
Great video, work and i am glad to se you guys together😀
That skill to the tow truck man👏
I use the solder and shrink tube connectors all the time. Screw the heat gun and use a small kitchen butane torch. I picked up a 2 pack for $14 on Amazon.

John Ross (WatchJRGo) is the right guy for that job. Highly intelligent fella when it comes to electrical engineering & such.

Hey Mike! Loving this series on the Maserati, great to see some progress and you sticking at it where I think most (sane?) people would have long ran for the hills! Awesome as always hope you can get it running!
It's good to see WatchJR folks here in AAR HQ with MWM... much progress were done...😅🎉😂
Been waiting for a Maserati vid!!

Do you have to apply the brake to start the engine with the fob?
Ye you can see him do it
At the end, what if you pressed the brake with the right key at the button?
I love the vids on the Maserotten, keep em coming!!
The door is sending out an S.O.S. 😂
Keep charging Mike...you'll get it started. I'd check and clean every ground wire you can find.
Exactly what I was thinking.
That door module is the same as a town and country , ram and a few others lol 😆 😂😂😂😂
I am praying nightly for you Mike 🙏🏻, I think the parts cannon approach is going to be the only way 🤦🏻♂️ ! Just whatever you do, never count up how much you spent 😂 ! Come on Maserati ! Help this poor man out 😂 !
Every time I see Randy working on something in his garage. I see that Maserati just sitting there bricked out. Never run again 😔
Sounds like to me the Pyro fuses blown which I believe is an underneath the fuse box
If it was the pyrofuse everything else should work besides the starter
With the Fox news coat on and the Hat I thought you were going to do the Weather 🌡️ Report 😂
Run Mike, the back door sounds just like a ticking time bomb!
Thank God the youth can save us from our mistakes!
Great video Mike and Mandy. Hopefully y’all get the beautiful car up and running.
Mandy lol
Man when I saw it in Randy’s shop…. I really hoped it pulled in on its own steam.
I feel you 😢 I have the same problem years ago 2018 jeep Cherokee never run again 😢 I’m pray 🙏 you get it done I least good help around you 👌love tho see running again
Old trick we had for moving locked up cars in the yard was heavy duty metal cookie baking sheets under each wheel then towed it with a lot car
The Maserati GranTurismo with the sweeeeet sounding V8 is what you should have gone for.... Such a gorgeous car that is... Prob a wee bit more than 5k though... 😚
ah finally more of the Ghibli
Start stop button is blinking because the key is not detected. Check the antenna for any saltwater damage. I think that right there is the issue.
Hi Mike this min tuned in my friend!..👌👍
YAY YOU DID IT MWM! Keep it up Mike you and Randy er love it 😂😂❤❤oh and ofc WATCHJRGO showed up 😂😂this is great!
Even sitting still and not able to run it’s a beautiful car Mike!
I noticed the start button flashed 10 times. I looked that up and it mentioned the immobilizer system. So perhaps look in that direction.
Have you tried jumping both the battery in the trunk and the one under at the same time?? Looks like that has helped others get it to start or crank
Yep!
@@MonkeyWrenchMike Guessing didn't work?
sometimes there is a keyless go module , check that
Mike. If you get this thing running. I hope you plan on using cavity wax on the inside of all the doors, to prevent rusting.
Randy and his Auto auction re-runs😅😅😅😅.
Great video again!
Flashing key light, mostly means something is not connecting correctly? Everything in that system has to be looked at? Randy’s high dollar autel might be able to active test /special functions parts of that system? Hope so dealer time to get that key system looked at?
You are going to hit 100k subs this year Mike

Don't give up now Mike, you WILL get there eventually!!! 🙂👍
Mike you are going to have nice when you get right keep pushing blessings
"Welcome to episode 57 of my Maserati adventure, where we finally get to drive it..... to the junk yard on the back of a tow truck!" 😂 I'm sure you can get it running Mike! Or at least we will enjoy watching you try!
Exactly! Lol
hey JR is there i watch him everyday.
Those cold solder connectors are kinda ok... But especially colder and moist weather those connector are bad. Works meaby one year but then have to fix with proper solder connectors.
@ 9:04 you said that like it wasn’t the first time lol
Mike, I think there is a better way to move your Maserati instead of towing, is by a Fork Lift ( so the big one in IAA or Copart ).
Keep it up.. it will be worth it !!
Cold looks like south Colorado last 3 days
I thought I was the only one that wears the funny but warm hat.
Mike. You should have first stepped back and think about what you need first. 1.) determine where the can fault is happening. unplug all nodes ( modules ) and plug in 1 at a time and scan the buss. What about the starter did you replace it or not
This car will bring in the money for sure 👍
You gotta press the break and press the push start
Have you guys grounded the fuse box for your maserati? In the back mike
Yup!
Keep it up Mike,
I think on those Maserati cars there is a lever to put it into neutral on the floor right in front of the drivers seat, just like the lever on the Dodge and Chrysler cars that share so much with them.
Yup
Cool!!!
does the dash light up?
Nope
That’s your issue the antiteft is tied to the cluster
I guess you’ve tried to hook the scan tool to it and read some of the DTC‘s?
Hey Mike, did you check the starter itself?
Also, I worked for a roadside assistance co and also investigated claims where vehicle owners would allege that a tow truck driver damaged their vehicle. One thing I learned is that shimmying the car off a flatbed and dragging it wreaks havoc to the engine/tranny/rear end. Hopefully that's not the case.
Hey Mike just saw the video do u think the starter might be gone by by just saying good luck

I wish you guys would just merge Chanel’s. I enjoy watching you guys together!
Mike, push that red tab on the negative terminal and pull it up.
My Maserati does 185 just kidding it's not going anywhere
The dash claims it does, but in reality it just looks good while sitting still, doing anything more than that is a violation of the rules of the world lol lol lol😊
I lost my license, now I can't drive.

When u changed all the computers did u get a new key fob
Yes
Man I really hope your car starts soon!

You will get it done . Like the video, Mike and Randy
Cool, but which wires did you mixed up? The white/red ones? It will be good.
Those fuses under the hood are called J case fuses
Mad bomber hat for the win! 🤣
The hat reminds me of the singing in the rain trip
Yep!!
Oh My !!
I was wondering if the starter was seized. If saltwater water got into it probably corroded it internally.
Don’t give up on this, you will figure it out.
Just needs blinker fluid, and it will be fine
What a brick! 🧱
I think you should have gotten the push to start button with the kit
what i want to know if the engine is siezed from all that water
🙂↔️
At 31:30 it could be a Low battery charge, Faulty battery sensors, Issues with the start-stop system itself, Extreme weather conditions I looked it up and told me this so hope it works
Oh look folks, it's Mikenook of the North!
I wonder why the insurance company totaled it out?
Headlight module! Do you mean to tell me that car has computer controlled headlights?! That must go with the computer controlled ashtray and computer controlled glove compartment door!!
its actually pretty common nowadays.
For more than 20 years now….welcome to the early 2000s lol
@@steveww07and theeeeeres the problem! What was wrong with a light switch and a dimmer switch? No computer needed!
