Im a gamer, so my lucid dreams get longer and more detailed when I play at least an hour before sleeping. While I can read some signboards, the drawback is not being able to see people's faces early. They either have their backs turned, covered by something, or blurred. Cheers.
I had heard Life of Agony on a metal show on the radio on 97.7 HTZFM in St Catharines around 1997. I also remember Weeds getting some overnight play on the station and hearing This Time from River Runs Red, on their metal show Beyond 11. In 1998, I had heard all of River Runs Red for the first time and I loved the music and the 3 sketches. I wonder who the yelling mother was! I had heard that the boss who left a message on the answering machine was their manager, from an interview with Alan Robert last year.
No idea what to say in a comment about LOA. I've been privileged enough to call my favoritest band of all time friends, loved everything they've put out as a band and in solo projects, agonized over their break-ups, celebrated their returns, drove through a snowstorm to their first reunion show in NYC in 2003, had a painting of their logo commissioned, then the same logo inked on my shoulder, been carried by their songs through bad times, and to this day, it's one of the only sounds on the planet that reliably gives me goosebumps every single time i listen. i love them and i am infinitely grateful they exist. Still, no idea what to say in a comment about LOA.💗💗💗💗💗
I vividly remember Keith Caputo, jumping off the bus, running right over to me, and pleading for a "boys room", back then, before going double 0 chromosomally abident, ha, man, met everyone over the years at my club - clubs, LaMour, C.B.G.B.s, The Rat, Troubadour, Seriously, Keith could sing his ass off! Great video!
I remember living in Scranton at the time of that episode of the office. I was blown tf away!?! I couldn't believe that my favorite bands and one of my favorite songs was on a TV show
Saw L.O.A for the first time on a promotional (acoustic) tour for Soul Searching sun, got to hang with the band, Next i saw them at Ozzfest, with Whitfield Crane, he did quite a good job. Seen them three or four times since and always liked them. Saw Joey play with Carnivore (last time i saw Pete Steele perform live, 2008 i think). Love all those New York bands.. Type O, L.O.A, Biohazard, Pist On, S.O.I.A, seen them all plenty of times... a unique sound (Mr666, 90s kid, UK).
Lucky enough to of seen them open for KMFDM. Ugly is one of the best albums of all time as far as I'm concerned and Keith's solo stuff like Selfish. Just plain brilliant. Keith's duet with Sharon Janny den Adel is just a mindblowing amazing song. I do hope Mina can find the happiness she deserves.
That's cool you got into LOA through the show! I was cracking up when I heard that song being played. Ugly is one of my first and oldest albums, I was about 12 years old. Like a lot of the other early albums, but one of my all time favorite albums. More than one member was in a band with Pete btw!!
Very true, they were one of the biggest metal bands going in Albany, everyone here loved them for the most part. I remember being shocked when I went out to school in Rochester that zero people knew them out that way.

LOA has kinda a strange place when it comes to my list of favorite bands. I can't think of another band that I have a similar connection to. Where I absolutely love their "river runs red" album from start to finish, it's definitely in my top 10 albums of all time. But other than a couple of songs here and there over the years I can't say that I’ve ever really go into any of their other albums. I can't really say why, even with some of their more recent albums where they went back to having more of a "river runs red" sound but they just didn't grab me even I was hoping they would. I can't think of another band that I would consider one of my all time favorites but when taking out that one album they're no longer even on the list.
Maybe I'm old? RRR was a great album. Saw them live a few times arouund 95/96. As a lifelong fan of hardcore I must say that the most energetic show I ever attended was Warzone. Raybeez was in the crowd dancing when the band started playing. Not uncommon but this cat was wearing some bib overalls and some leather work mule gloves, this shit was hardcore for real!

By the time I was allowed to go out late at night, most of the hot bands had already rolled through L'mour, I was like 2 years late to the scene. Those were the days.
I heard them for the first time on festival, so much energy on their show. Also Joey riffs are so cool. But I heard about Keith some time before when he recorded song with Within Temptation

Thank you for doing this. I knew I loved RRR in HS for a reason! You did well, You had to for the context of storytelling for those who didn't know and the timeline. Early band to be from New York to sing and not yell. Most heavy bands didn’t sing, only the emerging grunge bands did. Unique group to have a New York style without being actual NYHC or thrash metal. It’s hard to write the pronunciation but it’s La- MOUR . The strong accent is on the MOUR. Not a strong accent on the “LA” . It sounds almost like two words as opposed to one
In 83 at 14 wearing a biker hat like Rob Halford me brother in-law 13 yrs elder asked if I was gay. I was like WTF!!! Why would you ask that? He said that’s what the gay bikers from London accessorized with, along with the leather & spikes. I grabbed a Judas Priest album & said this is fuckin metal & im dating a hot blonde girl. So I put 2 & 2 together with lyrics & stage performances to realize the Metal God was gay. So fucking what!!! He’s a great artist whom I luv & respect 💯%. He’s not a predator nor is he pushing it on anyone. Luv is so much easier than hate.
That's the key right there -"not pushing it on anyone". When I was 18, I worked for a company whose owner was bi and lived with 3 of the most flamboyant, stereotypical gay men you'd ever see. The shop was in the basement of their house, so I was around them alot. They knew I was straight and not once did they ever say or do anything that was crossing the line. Total respect on both sides. and smashed the stereotypes that I was brought up with. But the current LGBTQ agenda of cramming it down everyone throats at every turn has probably made more people intolerant than accepting. You see it with hyper religious people as well. I have my own beliefs and things that I support, but I'm not on a mission to convert people to my way of thinking because it's what works for me or tell them they're wrong because they don't see things through my eyes. Don't know why that's such a hard thing for some to grasp.
Not charting? Not a problem! I can't count how many times I have seen this kick ass band but it was......excessive let's put it that way, LOL. Being from Jersey it was a gift every time they crossed the bridge and played here. Of course, I did my fair share of seeing them in the city whenever they played, which was a LOT, thankfully. Best of times, back in the 90's. SIGH!!! Thanks for the memories, LoA! You will forever hold a special place in my black heart 😘🤩😍💯💋💋💋💋💋

I’ve seen it a couple times. This was common in the early 2000s. I wonder why they didn’t like life of agony? Usually I noticed in them days a band would get booed if they weren’t of the same cloth/similar sound as the main act, I.e puddle of mudd opening up for korn

Maybe it's their spent youth? I dunno. I have the same issue with Soul Searching Sun. Bar a few songs, it is a very forgettable album.
Ugly is my fav album
I agree
I am 45 and only have 1 tattoo and its the LOA circle of skulls logo from River Runs Red . Love that band still . after River I thought they got kinda weak at first because it wasn't the same and caught me off guard , but soon I fell in love with ALL of their stuff !!!! The songs Here I Am ,Here I Stay and Drowning from the 1989-1999 album are two of my favorites
Fun fact: you can’t actually read in a dream. You may think you can but what you’re seeing is random letters that will change each time you look at them.
Thanks?
Whered you get that? Batman Animated Series' Perchance to Dream episode?
You can actually read in some exceptions. Im a lucid dreamer myself and there are always signboards in my dreams that I can read.
@@DontKnowDontCare6.9 cool. I’ve been lucid dreaming since I was a kid. I’ve gotten to the point where I can catch myself going into a hypnagogic state and slip into a dream. It weird though. I stopped drinking alcohol about a year ago and I’ve been lucid dreaming a lot less.
Im a gamer, so my lucid dreams get longer and more detailed when I play at least an hour before sleeping.
While I can read some signboards, the drawback is not being able to see people's faces early. They either have their backs turned, covered by something, or blurred.
Cheers.
source: trust me bro
Keith is back!!!
River runs red is one of the best albums ever written
Spent many nights with RRR on full blast on repeat with a 64 ounce of St Ides, and a pack of Parliament sitting on 110 Street in Richmond Hill Queens.
Ha ha ha Josh Silver Studios!
Stye in the Sky Studios 🐷
I love life of agony the river runs red was and still is one of the best albums ever I still listen to it all the time
I love Mina's music and paints.
She's a nice painter.
From an Old Hardcore Fan.
❤
Interesting, knew hardly any of that information. Thanks again
You’re welcome
If you lived in the tri state area in the early 90’s, LOA was EVERYWHERE. They wrote great songs!
Very true, they were one of the biggest metal bands going in Albany, everyone here loved them for the most part. I remember being shocked when I went out to school in Rochester that zero people knew them out that way.
Keith’s grandmother sounds so much like my grandmother who raised me, I miss her so much. RIP Mammaw
Are you also a Tgirl? This is my Deadname account as well if So
Your grandma pushed you to pretend t be a girl. Sounds like abuse
@@KelticKabukiGirl Deadname...wow, the indoctrination is deep in you. Isn't it? Oh hey, with everything going on geo-politically. Guess what, sunshine, you're still draft eligible. Might want to make a run to Canada soon.
@@KelticKabukiGirl this channel and it's followers are actually pretty transphobic tbh. I commented the other day on this video about dude deadnaming Mina.
River Runs Red is still on my all-time favorites list!
Ugly and river runs red are both wicked albums
nice to see u included a cut from Budapest, keep it up
River Runs Red was my introduction to Life of Agony.
One of my favorite bands of all time. Got to see them at an OzzFest. Loved it!
More videos about hardcore bands please! So many good, crazy ass stories about bands from that scene. Do one about this Detroit band called “Cold as Life”
Great video, well done
You should do a video on I Mother Earth. Best underrated band ever.
From what I've seen on YT, they are back in their roots with old stuff during concerts. No BS : ) EDIT: Their history really is a Life of Agony...
Life Of Agony is a Great Band 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Saw them about 50 times in early 90s. Studio 1, Lamours and all over NYC
L' Amour. It's pronounced "lah mor". Or, as us locals said "luhmaw".
thank you, my bad.
@@rnrtruestories All good, my man. I look forward to more awesome videos.
thanks! Plenty more on the way!@@lordvlygar2963
Uneducated locals. My friends and I didn't talk that way and we grew up in Bklyn
Hell yeah!!!Love LoA,Type O and Biohazard.👍
Pro-Pain!
I grew up in the same neighborhoods as theese guys. Holy crap I didn't know he worked at one stop! Legendary late night stop for us teens for snacks and drinks(both kinds) I was a little younger like 12-14 at the time so I basically missed out on L'mour, but I knew kids that went every weekend. By the time I was allowed to go out late at night, most of the hot bands had already rolled through L'mour, I was like 2 years late to the scene. Those were the days.
River Runs Red is one of those 10/10 records. Not a single dud in the whole album.
Same with the two following albums as well!
@@CookieMonsterJams I personally didn't like them as much.
I like the early outputs very much bring back the old Times. Very interesting Story thanks for showing
Great coverage. I never knew the close ties Life Of Agony had with Type O Negative. Wow
There from the same area. Well they did have the same drummer at one time
I heard them for the first time on festival, so much energy on their show. Also Joey riffs are so cool. But I heard about Keith some time before when he recorded song with Within Temptation
River Runs Red, Ugly are great albums. "Weeds" is an amazing song too.
Agreed
I was at one of the most famous LOA shows, where 20 mins from where the office is based on in Scranton pa…they played the basement Of a pancake house..totally packed and sold out,and after their roadie ripping a door off its h8nges because the power went out Keith decided to say let’s tear this fucking ceiling down, and yep that ceiling came down.also keith played keyboards live in the begin9ng…GO!
When all else fails… TRASH THE PLACE!
I played that night.
@@vorpalblades what band do we know each other
RRR FUCKING MASTERPIECE.
I went to one of their reunion shows in NY.
Saw one of their videos on Beavis and Butthead.
RRR is the only LOA album worth listening to.
Incorrect, Ugly and Soul Searching Sun are even better!
River Runs Red is a classic and a must have killer album!
I was worried at first, but you kept the He before the build-up to being out so, well done, This is my Deadname account actually, she and one other Trans Frontwoman are the only role models I have... Thank you for doing this. I knew I loved RRR in HS for a reason!
You did well, You had to for the context of storytelling for those who didn't know and the timeline. I was nervous a couple times closer to her being out, but it was respectful and well done. I came out last June after an unrepressed memory from 25 years ago. I was out and in public in a week. At 45 and a Metal and Hardcore Singer/Guitarist, I knew I just had to fucking own it. I go by Dolores now. I grew up playing in the PAxHC scene and the New York Bands were big influences, River Runs Red connected with me decades before I came out and 7 years before I started to try. I actually used to Gig with Dillinger, UNearth, Madball, Overcast, Shadows Fall, etc,,, and my old band SInce the Fall was on Hellfest and Boston Metalfest 99. I could have never come out back then. By the way, Google Nex Benedict if you want to see how bad things are... you gained a Sub today Thank you - Dolores
I was worried too. I wondered if/when he would change her pronouns. Nice to meet you Dolores!
@@elizabeth2181 thanks Elizabeth
That Benedict crap has already been proved to be a Jussie Smollett type hoax. Look into it.
REALITY CHECK: Diphenhydramine and Fluoxetine are the names of the "students" that took the life of that poor non binary child. Oh wait, those are drugs.
First two albums are great
Soul Searching Sun is better than great, it's amazing!
First 3!
Love you life of agony, you saved my life in so many ways
Lets pretend and weeds are so amazing
River runs red is so good..
Agreeed but Ugly and Soul Searching Sun are even better!
And now he's detransitioning, saying he was caught in the cult of trans.
I got into them in '93ish Snowboarding videos had their music. I think it was Creatures of Habit 2? Unique band sound back then, even now.
Would've been cool to hear about the different drummers they've had. The band wasn't just Keith /mina, Joey and alan
It pretty much is tho

I have seen them on Dynamo open Air ( Netherlands) and love them. Greetings from the Netherlands 👍 keep on headbanging 🤟
I was one of the witnesses. I’ll never forget that night.
So sal left type o to join these ' how come he left?
Sick Of It All, Snapcase and Life Of Agony brought me to Hardcore in 1994 after i was deep into Grunge. Saw them twice live in the 1990ies. Still listening to Hardcore after all those years. Last concert was Magnitude, next one is Knocked Loose. Only big love for Mina and the dudes.
Check out Pro-Pain.

Nicee!!! I saw Type 0 and Coal Chamber tour during the winter of 2000...It think it was March of 2000.
@@LeadMe2TheBlissyeah i saw that in Manchester great show
I saw them in 2005 with Mudvayne and American Head Charge. LOA was legitimately boo’d while performing. It was really weird to see/hear. That’s the one and only time I’ve ever heard a band boo’d.
I’ve seen it a couple times. This was common in the early 2000s. I wonder why they didn’t like life of agony? Usually I noticed in them days a band would get booed if they weren’t of the same cloth/similar sound as the main act, I.e puddle of mudd opening up for korn
Good story, I forgot they were intertwined with Type O Negative.
thanks!
You serious Capital Punishment was so good, Plastic Buildings and Paper Sky's were people come to live and Die. I just remember that part of the song. More then 25 years ago I'm thinking.
