True. A girl I knew from college once told me that one of the worst things about being blind is how people respect her a bit too much even when she's doing something that would get other people disrespected. Like, she would dress really provocatively and walk around crowded places, and yet, no catcalling. The one time a guy catcalled her, he was scolded by a bystander for not treating the poor blind girl well. She told me that she wanted to turn around and beat the bystander with her cane. XD Not saying that catcalling is ok, but it must sting when you are deliberately excluded from sth that nearly every other woman experiences just because of a disability. If that's the reason she was exempted, she didn't want it. Netflix didn't pull punches. If marvel was entirely in control of the series, the punisher probably would have had a wacky sidekick who said some "funny" dialogue as the guy's face was being smashed off-screen
I realise that going to Asia and learning martial arts is essential the entirety of the plot of Iron Fist. But I do want to point out that not all Martial Arts are Asian. To put it in short, Daredevil is *illegally blind,* so of course Charlie Cox decided to become *legally blind* which resulted in one of the best portrayals of a blind man despite the character he's playing not technically being blind.
Oh yes being blind goes get really old really quick, unfortunately for so many removing contact lenses and regaining sight is not an option for most of them. Eileen Jimenez ....That's NOT what Moon Knight was about, that's post Brian Michael Bendis Moon Knight.... Moon Knight was about a brutal mercenary who died in Egypt and turns over a new leaf by redeeming himself as a vigilante. He has THREE main disguises (Jake Lockley, Steven Grant, and Ian Waller) and has low grade schizophrenia from all the stuff he's been through from his military past... THE LAST faithful adaptation of Moon Knight was the 2006 Charlie Huston run. Today's Moon Knight might as well change his name since he's a completely different character.
RamsTheNameCom Dude, I'm just joking and even if they give him a series, there's a high chance that it would be a mixture of all of his incarnations from various writers. That aside, if they did give him a series, should his other personas be different actors?
Eileen Jimenez ...Well they're disguises.... so shouldn't it just be the same person playing all four (if they bring back Ian Waller), but portraying each with a different voice??? Also as long as they don't bring back the 2011 Moon Knight pretending to be other superheroes or Mr. Knight O.C. Anime Fan Fiction character, then I'll roll with it.
What I had in mind was his disguises be so good that he's like a different person. I know that there's prosthetics and just the prices of all the actors but there's an idea to be made there. As for Mr. Knight, if they did incorporating him, he could be like the Anonymus figure when he's showing his hacking skills (Let's face it, he's more likely to be portayed in modern day)
Daredevil doesn't pretend to be blind. He is blind. He can see some things but so can blind people. It's not always 100% darkness. I don't think it's accurate to say he is pretending, he still can't see anything written, he uses assistive technology throughout the show and he isn't always using his powers he has to focus (he tells foggy this in s1, ep 10).
It frustrates me that the DC and the X-men movies don’t embrace their fun and campiness like Marvel and then wonder why they aren’t as successful. And you just now in a few years those executives will be like “Yeah Marvel was a lighting in a bottle, we just couldn’t recreate the magic” No you are just idiots that haven’t realize the early 2000s are over.
Artemis Wolf They aren't Marvel though, they need to work to the strengths of their characters, which aren't the same as Marvel's. They should bring out more obscure characters like the creeper and the question, they've got a lot of hidden gems that would make great films.
Artemis Wolf that said, you're probably right, the higher ups in the DC film industry aren't massively competent, creative or able to take risks. They've got a box full of what is arguably the best collection of characters in the comic book industry and they do nothing with it.
They try to but they consistently fail to understand how basic story telling works. Its disappointing because as you say they have some great characters but they do nothing with them and when they do something its terrible to average.
That's not it. It wasn't the tone, it was the execution of that tone. The Dark Knight is a good movie with a dark tone. And so is The Avengers with it's light tone.
I agree, tone is largely irrelevant. it's not the problem most of the time. most comic characters have many stories with pretty much every tone of narrative you can think of, bright and happy to dark and grim. I think a big problem really is the being ashamed of the source material, like the DC and X-Men films often are, leading to them being reluctant to put the characters in actual costumes(X-Men and Netflix show of MCU) or letting them retain their moral and ethical identities(almost all of DC). they strip the characters of themselves essentially and that hurts what film/show they produce.
When karl talks about how he watched blind people doing everyday things i can't help but imagine him just sneaking around blind people's homes and creepily watching them without them knowing
Wow I’m late to this but man do I love this format of a show. It feels like I’m in the lunchroom with my nerdy friends and I asked them about the new daredevil show and they tell me while going on tangents they are super interesting and hilarious. Keep it up guys! 👍
The part about Charlie accidentally not looking people in the eye reminds me of my high school theater teacher. One thing he does is he naturally holds his hand near his stomach and rubs his thumb against his index and ring finger, sort of like a very subdued version of the stereotypical Italian hand gesture. And the reason he does that is because he once played a Nazi in a play who walked around with his hand like that and that part of it sort of stuck with him. It really goes to show just how much acting can change a person.
I think you would be interested in Richard Feynman. He was a physicist that worked on the Manhattan Project. After the death of his wife and borderline imprisionment to work on the project, he would just go around the compound and break into the top-of-the-line safes that everyone had in their offices and even into top security areas to "Test the security". He broke into the safes with a crazy use of probability and just grinding through all possible combinations and tricked everyone into thinking he picked his way in. He didn't give a single shit and feel he would interest you with some of his exploits.
I would assume that the actual person quoted was not blind but was a representative of a organization that helps blind people adapt to being blind so they have plenty of experience seeing how blind people interact with every day circumstances so their word on such a thing might carry some weight to such a claim
@@XeroBuster even if they weren’t, you know blind people just use normal language right? Like they aren’t gonna change every word, just like how I, and I’m sure many others, say we watched a show when maybe we put it on as background noise for something else.
As someone who deals daily with vision loss and hearing loss, I wanted to just say that while Daredevil DOES ostensibly "pretend" he is blind, him doing things like feel his way around can still be seen as actual blind behaviours. How? Any person with a sensory deficit uses their other main senses to a much higher degree. Deaf people, by the end of the day, will get tired eyes after a day of both seeing and communicating through the eyes. Blind people will have a similar fatigue related to hearing. My thoughts given all that is that while Murdock does pretend when out in public to maintain the full illusion, at home or another safe space, he turns off the super-sense he has in order to rest properly.
Yes this. I mean nobody ever mentions how incredibly difficult it is to single out a specific sound between all the other noise happening around us. I can absolutely imagine Daredevil comming home and putting on some industrial grade noise protection just to get five minutes of rest.
Not that Justice League bombed because of Jason Momoa. You can say that for all the movies with Game of Thrones actors he mentioned. They would've been shit and bombed without them in it.
FYI, legally blind doesn't mean 100% blind. So a legally blind person genuinely could watch Daredevil using their eyeballs, and genuinely tell that the character visually behaves correctly for a blind dude.
I just watched this after your video on charlie cox blinding himself.. And When you mentioned the bit about Cox playing solo I imagined it with the idea of Cox looking past everyone as what you meant.. I prefer this.
he probably would have made it better, i havent seen it yetbut if they had to hire an acting coach for the lead role i doubt it could have been that good
he made solo and rouge one those aren't Disney movies there Lucas films movies that's why star wars is only a sub title "solo A star wars story" "Rouge one A star wars story " since they're not Disney films star wars cant be in the title only the movies that take place after the original 6 are Disney lucas sold the rights to the future of the franchise but he can still make films between his original films to add backstory though disney im pretty sure still over sees them
Sometimes if I leave these videos on and then comeback, I’m just totally fucking confused, there’s just a bunch of pictures I have no idea how they’re related to the title

Hes talking abt the actor bruh 💀
@@ivanzamaguey7682 No he’s not. He’s talking about how the character pretends to be blind in like the 4 min.
I loved the 10 minute one-shot fight scene in season 3.
Absolutely amazing
Totally agree! It was cool to watch
that opening aged well
Lmao, daredevil is a blind superhero with the superpower to see.
That's some of the funniest shit I've heard in awhile
It frustrates me that the DC and the X-men movies don’t embrace their fun and campiness like Marvel and then wonder why they aren’t as successful.
And you just now in a few years those executives will be like “Yeah Marvel was a lighting in a bottle, we just couldn’t recreate the magic”
No you are just idiots that haven’t realize the early 2000s are over.
"moonknight, I cant wait for him to get a TV show"
2019: kevin feige announces Moon knight show on disney+
Oh, I totally thought you meant he permanently blinded himself and I was like 😳
It's all clickbait
I bet his biggest fear was the show getting cancelled, he would have been blindsided!
Damn.. with how it is now, let’s hope he doesn’t get blindsided
Uh too late buddy. None of us ever saw it coming
don’t bring it up.....
Bet he didn't see that coming.
this aged poorly
Looking back at this three years later karl got his dream moon knight is getting a series
I never realized how well he does the blind part of the character... guess i'm gonna invite my blind cousin to watch the show and see what he thinks
Hey, you got your wish man. That Moon knight show looks so promising.
he got a show
When karl talks about how he watched blind people doing everyday things i can't help but imagine him just sneaking around blind people's homes and creepily watching them without them knowing
Charlie Cox also picked up facial tendencies that most blind people have, and he's often looking away from the target he's talking to
Wow I’m late to this but man do I love this format of a show. It feels like I’m in the lunchroom with my nerdy friends and I asked them about the new daredevil show and they tell me while going on tangents they are super interesting and hilarious. Keep it up guys! 👍
Mentioning Moonknight 4 yrs ago
soon ™
oh damn he called the moon knight tv show
Almost 4 years later and we're finally getting a Moon Knight show
And moon knight now has a TV show... well done Karl
I didn't know that Dark Phoenix had the same director as X3 holy shit. Well you just saved me $20 at the cinema.
I'm so glad you are finally getting the subs you deserve.
My man finally got his Moon Knight.
he’s a really good lawyer
im watching this in 2022, 3 and a half years later and this man striaght up predicted the moon knight tv show
Jason Mimoa is an awesome actor, and has been since he was in Stargate: Atlantis.
"One of the most accurate portrayals of a blind person ever SEEN on TV" This is apparently a quote from a blind person. 8:25
@@Aisha_Luv I don't see any disagreement here only clarification so thanks I guess for adding to the conversation
There are also people that aren't fully blind too. Some can see to a degree but still can't function as well as somebody that can see normally.
Moonknight ftw!
The irony of watching this after the success of Aquaman
"Who's moon knight"
"A total Dumbass"
Hahaha too true Karl, too true
Well, you got your Moon Knight TV Show, and it kicks ass!
Maybe Charlie is vampire?
No blind person has ever been offended by watching his performance of a blind hero.
kinda funny that moon night now is getting a tv show
Your predicted the moon knight show that’s coming out soon
Not that Justice League bombed because of Jason Momoa. You can say that for all the movies with Game of Thrones actors he mentioned. They would've been shit and bombed without them in it.
Connor McCartney very true
I mean, Jason Momoa had already proven he had decent acting chops with roles like Ronan in Stargate: Atlantis. I'd hardly call him movie 'poison'.
MoonKnight got his own show bro
Charlie Cox didn't use them in every scene. He did at first, but after fight scenes and just walking into things, he opted for acting blind.
Wow, just wait until the blind people see his acting!
Curb your acting
That’s cruel
Eye see what you did there
@@j.athbheochan5610 Dude, watch the puns! Pretty soon, you use up all the eye-conic ones, and they just get cornea and cornea.
Man predicted moon knight
0:09 "I can't wait for moon knight to get a TV show" well I guess he's happy now
He probably dodged a bullet by not getting into the Solo movie, let's be honest here.
he probably would have made it better, i havent seen it yetbut if they had to hire an acting coach for the lead role i doubt it could have been that good
Solo was amazing!
yea duh lucas made it he hasn't made a good movie since the bombs that were the prequels
he made solo and rouge one those aren't Disney movies there Lucas films movies that's why star wars is only a sub title "solo A star wars story" "Rouge one A star wars story " since they're not Disney films star wars cant be in the title only the movies that take place after the original 6 are Disney lucas sold the rights to the future of the franchise but he can still make films between his original films to add backstory though disney im pretty sure still over sees them
unless hes no longer part of lucas films he still is part of the franchise
3 yrs in the future. moonknight got his TV show announced on a streaming service called Disney+
Maby hes a vampire karl
someone should check him for a flying car
Dang, Karl called it with Moon Knight three years ago. Lmao
Sometimes if I leave these videos on and then comeback, I’m just totally fucking confused, there’s just a bunch of pictures I have no idea how they’re related to the title
“Cant wait for Moon Knight to get his own tv show” aged well
well the moon knight thing turned out amazing sooo
It was complete trash lmao
@@thomas5 go watch iron fist and re think this comment
@@Pookus44 I've already seen it mate, still better than Moon Knight...
The first 10 seconds of this video aged very well
I guess Carl got his wish with the moon knight tv show
Seen this episode like, 3-4 times and I'm only just now realizing how absolutely fantastic Karl's shirt is.
I have some great news about Moon Knight from the future
He just single handedly predicted moon knight on Disney +
Karl- makes a video on Daredevil
Me- Hell yes I've been waiting for this for years I love this someone stab me or I'll die of happiness Daredevil is the best show in the world hallway fight scene hype oh yes.
I'm watching this in 2022 less then a week after they drop the trailer for the moonlight TV show
Man talked about moonknight this long ago lol
I just wanted to say thank you guys for making these videos they very very informational and I just got out of the hospital today and it is making my day a whole lot better and getting rid of a lot of the pain just you and you guys talk about some crazy stories of love these videos keep doing the great work
I'm just a dude playing a dude thats playing another dude
"Backflip-assisted foot slaps and mounted haymakers" 😂 is just the most accurate thing I've heard on the internet today
I've always really loved daredevil. I would also go as far to say that Charlie Cox playing Daredevil is one of the best comic book character portrayals of all time!
You know I remember another person who played in a comic book role and gave this level kinda dedication he blew up a hospital destroyed a bat put a smile on people’s faces while saying here we go not surprised someone could play a blind man at that level
Maybe dark phoenix is vampire?
wooo, new video. I can't get enough of your videos I've watched so many of your videos in the past three or four days. I love them so much.
On the GoT actors' behalf, the movies sucked on their own, not their fault
Agreed. Wouldn't be so popular if every actor was shite.
Aquaman was pretty good
He doesn't see flat things like written or deatails
took 4 years, but you're finally getting that moon knight show
Daredevil is the OG OF *BIRDBOX*
I'm blind and i can categorically state that Charlie Cox's portrayal of a blind person is the best performance i've ever seen
???
@@bobbd.builda1746 I would reply to you. But as i stated, i'm blind and i cannot see what you wrote
Moonknight did get a show
Great as always, love you guys. I love talking to people about you guys.
